Stopped and tried these guys pies for breakfast today after driving past them for years. Needless to say I will be stopping in more often. I have both a lamb pie and curry pie, both with mushy peas and they were beautiful, fresh and not overcooked. They were also fairly priced.
A pretty stock standard fish and chip shop with your general array of takeaway options. Have been meaning to try these guys for a fair while now and did so this evening. My piece of mackerel was average size and cooked reasonably crispy. It was nice and about par for what you would expect. The service was prompt and polite and it seemed to be a family run business.
Pie Face opens 24 hours and is situated near the nightclubs in Townsville. Apart from having a wide selection of pies it also has some very nice gourmet style toasted sandwiches which go down well. Service is always polite, friendly and fast.
Pretty standard kebab shop, opens up late at night to service all the club revellers whom are hungry on the way home. Pretty good feed and prices are standard. A nice change from the bullys dog down the road or pieface.
I was recently up in the northern beaches on a Saturday afternoon and stopped In to get some lunch from the Woodlands takeaway store. I was very impressed with the freshness of the roast chicken roll I purchased and also the chips. I will definitely stop there again next time Im going past.
These guys run an upmarket type medium sized café in the woodlands shopping centre plaza just north of Townsville and just off the Bruce highway. They have a good range of upmarket and fresh type dishes both of hot and cold varieties. I find these guys a little bit on the expensive side for me to go to all the time but it is definitely more fashionable to be seen at then other places in the area. Service is always good.
These guys do huge burgers and must have over 20 different types. Everything is cooked freshly and the all the products placed on the burger taste extremely crisp and fresh. It is always such a big decision what to get because there is so much variety. You get premium eating at not much more than a normal takeaway price. Tuesday night is popular with all burgers only $8 in the evening. I made the mistake of ordering a side of chips when I first went there plus my burger and it was just way to much...these guys serve great burgers for a great price.
Oporto makes a nice change from McDonald's and probably has chicken which tastes a bit fresher and nicer with a better salad. There are a variety of different burgers available and you can upgrade your burgers to meals which include chips and a drink for a few more bucks. Staff are friendly and service times are fair.
These guys definitely do some nice roasts and home cooked food and it always smells nice walking past. However compared with other similar take away stores the portions are quite small and the costs are definitely higher. It can also take quite a while to be served at times and some of their staff seem to work at a very slow pace.
Great views from the bar or beer garden out the front. Great staff who are always friendly and help you have a great time. Lots of activities including the toad races and raffles and also a great spot for sport as they have all the football codes on to watch plus occasionally some of the bigger boxing bouts. The little café next to the pub where you can order meals and bring in is also fantastic with great freshly cooked seafood and steaks.
