Awesome new bar in mackay,the place is huge withalongbar,great dancefloor,big clean toilets and a smoking area outside.staff are many and efficient,security is good,heaps of seating to chill on,my fab club in mackay!
People rave about the pizzas here but the four times we've for pizzas there always been only ok..base food,pizza bit wet,heaps of toppings but again,not an amazing pizza.alot more then say dominos or other pizza chains,I now stick with the chains as I know their pizzas are always satisfying.
An excellent quality caravan park right on blacks beach,in a quiet,lovely area.the whole area is clean and nice,the sites are all tidy,and pool is also lovely and clean.staffare super friendly and were lovely to deal with,and also the showers here are really good,better then most van parks.better accommodation then some "resorts"located out that way!
Wow I wish I had of read reviews for this place,or looked at the rooms before paying for a weekends accommodation :/the place is like a faded old movie star-you can see that she once was beautiful,but now-just a mess.as you walk in,the reception area is filthy with dust leaves etc,even a broken buddhaesque statue.theres faded flyers on where to go what to do etc.no one around to help you at all.theres a waterfall feature which doesn't flow,it's thick with mouldy green water.you walk into the "resort"and the pool not only is filthy,but has ducks in it,complete with their droppings and feathers.the restaurant actually looked ok,but I wasn't game enough to eat there.i asked the new owners if they were busy,she gave a rueful laughs said no,they're never busy.having just taken it over she looked a but dazed like she can't believe what they are managing.the rooms we had are $150 a night,and for this you get a dodgy unlock able door,dusty floors,hair in shower,grubby sheets and the thinnest hardest pillow and bed I've ever slept on.some kind person had even taken half the tobacco out of a cigarette(u may know what for)and left the other half for later next to the microwave..obviously that area hadn't been cleaned since last tenants either.as you walk around the buildings,there's a huge area overrun with weeds,broken down cars and an unfinished building,and alot of seedy looking areas.will NEVER stay again,and sincerely hope department of health shuts the place down.or it gets new owners who are willing to spend some money and completely fix the place up,which it needs desperately.please in future,read reviews like this about where you're staying,or look at your room before paying.

Great idea behind the business,and you do get huge savings,major problem though is alot of the time you make a booking through wotif,but because its not the actual place you're staying at,sometimes they don't even get the booking.so you arrive at your destination,after paying through wotif,but your accommodation doesn't know.extremely frustrating and has left me stranded cold at 11pm in airlie beach.so make sure you call the actual accommodation too!
Mackays premium "adult"lounge.underneath Showbar in town,this is the day/late arvo bar then when it shuts you can head upstairs.the ladies working here are all exemely friendly and helpful,there's pool tables inside.the men's and women's toilets are very clean.they have a large selection of drinks,and as they're in the cbd you can walk across the roads to get food.men have to pay to get in,but women are free.not a bad place to drink,but keep in mind,it is an adult bar,so don't go up if nudity offends you.
A good older style bar,alot of locals and older guys drink there.the bar is a bit grubby,has pool table and a jukebox.also has topless girls on some days which attracts a huge crowd of tradies.next door they have a small room of pokies.on the other side they have a large moderate size restaurant which has good food,they do two for one deals.the food is your usual pub fare-roasts and schnitzels etc.any problems they are quick to fix.on the whole,it's still a good old pub to grab a meal or a coldie.
People rave about Hoggies,I personally have never really got why..every time I've been,the entrees(particularly the calamari)but the mains are lacking..the steaks are always just okay,and for the money I'm paying I don't want ok,I want really good.the veges are ordinary..the desserts though are amazing,they have sundaes that are about ten scoops of strawberry choc and vanilla :) the restaurant is nice,it's decked out in 1950"s stuff,and there's lots of seating inside and outside.the toilets are upstairs and clean,and the staff are always lovely and helpful.a god night out,just not my favourite food.
Went here for a friends 21st and it was a great night,they"d hired a room out and it was so good,staff came in and cleaned and bought us drinks plus the was a bar there too.the pub is huge,there's different sections,one has all the betting/gaming services,another has pokies,pool in another and lastly the restaurant in another.they also do accommodation,the rooms are large,clean and well maintained.a good price too.
This old pubs been around forever,it used to be called Langfords but got new owners who changed the name.everything about this pub is typical old pub...the hotel itself is really old,though its got new pool tables and jukebox inside.the food is standards like crumbed steak and chips,all good price and not a bad meal.the staff are nice,most have worked there for ages and know all the regulars.alot of the older men drink there but it does have pool comps that attracts a younger crowd.this pub is the only pub in Mackay that DOESN'T have POKIES!its literally a old school pub :)
