Went to Medibank Private for a simple enquiry, came out with some changes to my membership that will return greater rebates on extras. Thanks to Margaret at the Chermside office for helping me do this. She was helpful and patient and the result is going to be better than I had expected.
Aside from great deals and excellent prices, wotif.com run social media promotions too. I once won a $100 voucher which came in very handy on a weekend away.
Their service standards are excellent and because they hang out on Twitter and Facebook, they're always available to answer questions.
I love that wotif.com are a Brisbane born and bred business! From what I understand they're also fantastic employers.
I would never book accommodation in Australia without checking wotif.com first.
Just had a marketing call from Yellow Pages and when I tried to tell them I wasn't interested in marketing my business on Yellow Pages, the operator asked how I am getting enquiries without it. The last thing I want to do when I receive an unsolicited marketing call is to explain myself!!!
Seriously, they were right on the mark when they came up with the "Not happy, Jan!!" tag line. I was in the middle of a thought process, answered the phone and it was the old dinosaur, Yellow Pages ... they'd let their fingers do the walking, I let mine do the hanging up.
I've used Sticky Tickets many times when organising corporate networking events and they have always been highly professional and helpful. You can create an event then send the link to invitees or use the link to promote the event on social media. A database forms around guests who buy tickets (or book tickets if they're free) and you can see at a glance who will be attending. The system also sends tickets to attendees once they're purchased/booked.
Fees are very reasonable especially when you consider the convenience the system affords.
Support issues are answered promptly (same day) and the interface is simple to navigate.
Had lunch here one day and the food was excellent. You can sit either inside or in the thoroughfare. There is plenty on offer including sandwiches, hot food and coffees. Inside is a book store that could tempt you for hours but as I didn't have a lot of time, I didn't get to browse for long. Did enjoy the food though!
Parking is underneath and free for the first couple of hours.
You can always get a good kebab here! The food is always fresh, the staff take pride in assembling it and the premises look clean. A kebab is a kebab is a kebab, sure, but some places are better than others. This one is pretty good.
They also have fresh baklava and turkish delight.
Just a little sandwich shop in an eatery in a shopping centre but they do a great sandwich, especially with roast meats and gravy. They also do roasts on a plate with vegetables, roast pumpkin/potato and gravy, plus regular salad sandwiches, egg and lettuce, etc.
The ladies are always pleasant, and if you're eating there, you get proper plates and cutlery instead of plastic nonsense.
The guys who own French and Mor are very proud of their business and it shows. They keep it beautifully clean and tidy and the food is always fresh and tempting.
I love the quiches with salad; always fresh, delicious and healthy. As sweet treats go, try the chocolate croissants, the danishes or the many individual cakes and desserts.
The coffee is good and they make a great iced coffee! Lots of teas to try too.
Plenty of magazines to read, a range of different seating options, sit indoors or on the terrace. Parking is easy and free.
French and Mor is a little suburban secret.
This is a great Coffee Club. The food is always up to par and the staff are always friendly. Ben, in particular, is a credit to the business as he's sociable, welcoming and always ready with a smile and a chat.
Parking can be a problem sometimes but only because the restaurant is usually so busy. Coffee is good, you can sit inside or outside and there is a range of seating options.
When you're sick of weak, unfresh supermarket eggs, go to Nadra Eggs. They have all different sizes which you can buy by the half dozen, dozen or tray of 20. They also have frozen roasting chickens and boiling hens which make the best chicken soup!
You can also get hard to find dairy products (e.g. Maleny Dairies) and they make awesome fudge. When I went there last, they were cooking it and it smelled irresistible!!
