Ever since the floods, Suncorp have been the insurance hero and even now that they're denying insurance in towns such as Roma and forcing the hand of government to put in place flood mitigation infrastructure, they are doing it for just and worthy reasons.

I called Suncorp Stafford branch recently for insurance quotes and switched my home and contents to Suncorp. Heather was the lady who helped me and she's fantastic. Very helpful, understanding and does what she can to secure the right product for your needs.

I was surprised that Suncorp's prices were more reasonable than I'd expected too.

We haven't had to claim on our NRMA policies yet but to date, we are very happy with the level of service provided. We are also thrilled with the prices as NRMA will beat other actual quotes by 10%.

So far it seems to be very easy to deal with NRMA and whenever I call, they are more than happy to give me all the information I need. Never have to wait long on the phone either. Very happy.

Looove Morgans, but if you're going on a public holiday that happens to be a beautiful fine day, prepare yourself for a wait or go early so you don't starve! Yesterday (Labour Day) we went there but the queue was out the door at 1pm. It was mayhem. Still, everyone was good humoured and the sun was shining so they did a brisk trade. We bought some fresh prawns and left to go elsewhere as we were too hungry to wait for the cooked foods.

There is plenty of seating outside where you can enjoy the sunshine or watch the sun go down. Staff are always flat out, testament to the quality they serve up.

This is not your average fish and chip shop. If you're after something healthier than the usual fried fare, you can get an excellent salad, have your seafood grilled and enjoy it all on real crockery plates at comfortable tables overlooking the ocean.

Of course, if it's the golden goodness of the fried foods you want, then you can get that in spades! They also have amazing cakes, pretty good coffee, a variety of drinks and ice creams and the service is always friendly and welcoming.

Choose from garlic prawns, a bucket of prawns, fresh and cooked seafood, whatever takes your fancy on a relaxing Sunday ... or whenever you choose to go there.

Had to have a Glucose Tolerance Test which involves an initial blood test, drinking a bottle of glucose drink and then waiting on the premises for 2 hours followed by another blood test. Kathleen was an expert at drawing blood, even with my pathetic, invisible veins.

Easy parking right outside, open from 6.30am and pleasant, friendly staff.

If you have to have blood drawn, go here.

Couldn't help but be thoroughly impressed with the service provided by the girl taking orders at this store. She was friendly, took an interest in customers, got the orders right, processed the payments correctly and did it all with a genuine smile.

The food is excellent and the store is exceptionally busy at times but runs efficiently.

Had a great lunch at the Stones Corner Hotel recently. They do excellent steaks and have a pretty decent wine list for a casual lunch. You can sit inside or on the footpath and watch people go by but some tables are so close to the road, that you might need to enjoy exhaust fumes with your meal to sit there.

Coffee is pretty good too. Staff are a little slow but unless you're in a hurry, no big deal.

For a good night out, something different to do, go and see a comedy gig. At the Albion Comedy Club & Restaurant, meals are excellent. You can choose from steaks, risotto, pasta, butter chicken, thai beef salad and other options. Full bar is open for drinks purchases.

You usually get to see at least 4 comics in action so there's plenty of value for your $25 admission fee. If you sign up for their newsletter (which doesn't arrive often enough to be a bother), you'll receive 4 free tickets in the mail in time for your birthday.

Parking is free in surrounding streets. Service is good, drinks are a little pricey.

Wow! If ever you get nostalgic about 'real' milk, especially the gold top bottles that used to have the cream blob under the foil lid, then check out Maleny Dairies products. I get mine at Mrs Flannerys but other stockists are listed on their website.

There is simply no comparison. I recently bought Pauls Pure Cream and whipped it up to serve with fruit salad and after having recently had Maleny Dairies guernsey cream, the difference was like light years.

The cream is yellow, thick and absolutely delicious. We've made ice cream and butter with it and I guarantee, once you try it, you won't be able to slum it with other brands again.

Haven't been to the dairy itself but fully intend to very soon.

I love to have a good browse around Ikea on a Sunday, particularly after their el cheapo (but tasty) breakfast. With the distance you have to walk to get to the exit of the store, it's one good way of working off brekky!

Ikea's Sunday breakfast is hugely popular and probably the reason why the restaurant/cafe opens half an hour earlier than the store itself. People are lined up at the door to get in at 8.30am.

The one thing I don't like about Ikea is that service is very hard to come by. They claim to skimp on service to pass on lower costs but really, service is incredibly important, especially when trying to determine what to do with large items that may or may not fit in your car for the ride home.

The staff are not particularly helpful or pleasant and you really do feel like a number passing through the checkouts.

Still, Ikea is a reasonable weekend outing, whether or not you buy something, but as in my case, it seems silly to travel all that way, walk right through the store and emerge with no purchases. I usually pick up a gadget or something new and attractive for the kitchen.
