If you are looking for a cheap Chinese buffet, this is the place to go. Actually they don't make the food as greasy as some places and they have some dishes that are not found elsewhere. It is good to see a Chinese restaurant in the northern suburbs trying something a little different.
What a surprise to find a real Thai restaurant in the Northern Suburbs. Now here is the trick to spotting the fake ones, they just give you a choice of beef, chicken etc with different sauces. Meanwhile in Thailand and at Absolute Thai, they have an actual selection of dishes.
Yes they are a little sweeter than you would find in Thailand (except at touristy restaurants in Thailand) but still very good. The trick is to stay away from the curries (which are nice anyway), and try and try the other dishes.
Definitely need to get back to the Northern Suburbs to visit this place.
Nice fine dining restaurant in Flaxton with nice views. Great food, smaller servings (yes you need entree, main and dessert when eating dinner).
The real question is how does this stack up against other places in the area, It is hard to really choose. Montville's selection of find dining establishments in the area, many with great views. This place to me just edges out the rest, because of the setting.
Every country town has a "Chinese" restaurant. Not really Chinese food that I know (from living in China), but still it is okay. All your typical dishes that pass for Chinese food in Australia and no way near as bad as Chinese restaurants in country towns can be.
I have to admit that I only went there because of a friend. Wouldn't have chosen to go there and wouldn't go back given the large number of great options in the area. But then it is one of the few places for both mid priced and Asian cuisine in that location.
Great view at "The edge" looking down the mountains to the sunshine coast. The food is delicious and innovative. Not the place to go for country cuisine, but more like for fine dining. Would I go back? It is on my list of Montville restaurants to go back to.
The garish carpets have obviously been chosen to hide spills and the decor and layout gives you that casino feel, but the Jindalee Hotel transcends these to create a nice atmosphere.
The restaurant there is the Road House Grill, which has a wide selection of meals. Lunches start at around $12 if I remember correctly. Think Pizzas, Burgers and Meats. There are some good filling salads if you prefer. There isn't that much of a selection of any of the items, which usually means that they know what they do well, so you can count on it.
Being hungry we went for the combination plates (you know steak & prawns and mix meat and seafood grill, that sort of thing). Way too much food. We should have gotten something smaller.
Weekends this place can be crowded and noisy. Week nights it is a great place to go for a nice unhealthy dinner at a great price. A good alternative to the restaurants in the area.
Another great hotel in the part of the greater Brisbane area where there is supposed to be nothing. Like a lot of newer places, they try harder to do better. Yes, they don't always succeed, but when it comes to a great meal at a good price, the Spring Lake Hotel is the place to go.
The decor is also better than some of the other places around (that look more like 70s RSLs rather than modern pubs).
This suburban pub does good food. They make the effort to present the food well, even when it is just classic pub fair. I think the weekends are better. Like many places on the outskirts of Brisbane, the food is usually better on the weekends than on weekdays (maybe different chefs)
We have been here in the afternoon on weekends. It is a nice pub, with a friendly attitude. They made good coffee for the people who enjoy that sort of thing and nice meals and snacks for those who were hungry.
During the day, you can treat this pub like a cafe and go for snacks, light meals, coffee and even a few beers.
