A good clean friendly caravan park,on a massive 15acres,on the south side of mackay.its only 5mins drive into town,beaches etc.the park has van and tent sites,also cabins that are clean and well priced.amenties are clean,showers hot lotsa of water.this park is quite often fully booked though,so make sure you call ahead.
Literally right on the beach in the centre of Seaforth,this camping area is lovely and clean,lots of room with van sites,tent sites etc.the beach is a stones throw away and is a lovely beach.theres a little shop/kiosk 5mins walk away that sells everything you could need from bait to snacks to mossie coils bread and milk etc.owners of park and shop are lovely people,know best places to fish etc.weve stayed here 3 Easters in a row and always had a fantastic time,it's very kid friendly too and safe.
Located 10min walk from centre of mackay,and close to dominos,subway etc,its a good location.half the park is cabins,which are nice and neat,but the other half is old vans and run down old rooms,with alot of rubbish laying around,weeds growing etc.the cabins are extremely expensive,$460 per week but that's also common in Mackay.the pool is dirty,and the amenities are dark and quite unsafe,definately scary walking there at night.the owner,an old Italian lady is quite snarky and rude.the whole place could do with a good clean,new attitude and a coat of paint.
Be wary staying here,the place is run down,old and some of the tenants are a little out there..the manager,when available,was rude and quite brusque,as we're the other tenants,who also like a lot of noise and parties with alcohol.located on the road out to the harbour it's quite noisy..would recommend somewhere else to stay.only saving grace is it does have a new big sand playground thing for the kids.
Ok van park,a little chatty;eg bit run down and some of the tenants have broken car/rubbish etc outside their vans.right on the highway so quite noisy and busy if you stay on that end,the other end of the park is parallel to the school so busy too but not too noisy.prices are bit expensive,but that's normal in mackay.
One of the better van parks in mackay(Andergrove)lots of cairns and van parks,the amenities are clean and spacious,the owners are lovely people.the whole place is grassy,neat and really nice.not too noisy,nice people staying there,definately the better van park I always choose to stay at if I need a cabin.
Great surgery,clean and always busy as its right in canelands shopping centre.theres alt of doctors available,but sometimes you don't see the same one as they change quite often,in saying that there are a few who have been there years.the pharmacy is only few shops away too,so close to get your script filled,again super convenient.they don't bulk bill but.
I use this surgery monthly and always see dr voisot,he's the most lovely man and a great doctor,so understanding and patient.the receptionist are lovely and always willing to help.the surgery doesn't bulk bill,but if I pay $50 for the visit,I always get $37 back from Medicare.its worth paying as the doctors so good and the care they provide is exceptional.
Awesome centre for the kids to play,has a huge slide and climbing fort,also a little room for toddlers.they have a cafe there(but foods expensive and you aren't allowed to take your own food so it gets very costly!)but the food they make is delicious.you can also hire the room for kids parties which is actually quite affordable.the place is run by Christians,and e young staff are super lovely,a little slow and forgetful with your food sometimes,but lovely young people.entry can also be expensive if you have a few kids,$7 ea adds up(you do get a free drink voucher when paying for kids though )a great place esp on rainy days or holidays!

Awesome new barbers in mackay,the shop is cool as,heaths decked it out with graffiti art on the walls,old school kids car ride and cool clothes for sale.while you wait you can read tattoo magazines and listen to cool beats.heath is a lovely,down to earth friendly guy,who is also a talented barber who does a mean haircut and style!my partner gets stars cut into the side of his hair here and loves it.cost is what you"d expect for a trendy shop,it is a good barbers though so worth the bucks.
