Scienceworks is fun for all the family. There's the fitness section where you can test your skills and talent against a range of activities. There's also upstairs a little mini engineering section that's loads of fun for younger kids. Of interest to adults will be the tech displays, showing all kinds of gadgets from the last century, which is guaranteed to take you back down memory lane. They also have little exhibitions there all the time. The canteen and gift shop are pretty expensive though.
Been here twice now, both times for dinner (once for my wife's 40th), and both times I've been impressed with the food and the atmosphere. Good selection of wine and beers - tends to a bit on the expensive side, as is the food, but it's worth it. Very classy establishment.
Small store but well stocked with a good selection of games for all consoles as well as PC. also lots of little toys and knick knacks and cool t shirts. Will also allow you to trade your old games, which is cool.
Hot wings is a Williamstown institution. The chicken is nice, with good stuffing included. They have a range of packs available, but the one that we usually go for is the family value one, with one extra large chook, large chips, large gravy and large peas for about $24, which I think is excellent value. Good selection of drinks and salads available. And the chips! I've never seen a take away place be so generous with what they give, and I think they are the yummiest chips I've ever had as well. Only negative is the lack of eftpos, but there is one of those generic ATM's in store so you can cash out to pay for it that way. Fantastic and consistent value!
A very nice little bookshop with a great range of interesting books. The staff are excellent and really know their stuff. They've put us onto several good books (including some great ones for the kids). Prices are about normal bookstore standard. One to go to if you want to browse and excellent and eclectic selection, and be treated to some good old fashioned customer service.
Great gym. Warm friendly staff and trainers. It's small, but that's part of the appeal - it doesn't attract the meatheads that you get in the larger gyms. It's got a great range of equipment, most of it new, so you're always able to get on the machine or lift the weight that you want. The name of it says it all - its a boutique gym that caters to hardcore gym junkies as well as the occasional visitor like me. Membership is very reasonable too.
Y&J's is one of those Melbourne institutions that you cant help but love. Good number of spaces to have a drink, including a roof top cider and beer bar for the smokers (if smoking is your thing). Very well appointed and always well staffed.
A year ago this restaurant would have received nothing but 5 stars all the way from me, as we've dined there several times and had possibly some of the nicest Indian food we've ever had, but recently I ordered some take away and to be honest the quality of it wasnt quite there. The restaurant itself has undergone something of a refresh of its decor, which it needed, but I wonder if other things havent been changed as well. All that said, it was still a damn fine meal that we enjoyed a lot. We just didnt love it as much as we used to unfortunately. The quality of the meat and other ingredients was still very good however. I'd still recommend it to people, but based on that one meal I wouldnt rave about it like I have in the past.
Pepperoni's is a good place if you are wanting something quick and tasty to eat. Its not the best pizza you'll ever have but its far from the worst either, and its always better than the big chain pizza places. Good selection of pizza availabe by the slice. Service is ok - guess it depends on what time of the day or night you go. I've never had my world rocked with the service that I've gotten, but they've never been rude or dismissive of me either. Great location too. All up, if you're hungry for some pizza you could do a lot worse than visit here.
My family and I have been to Sams Boatshed a few times now. Good pizzas at reasonable prices. Service also pretty good. Plenty of seating as well, which is nice. And it's kid friendly too, which is important in a suburb like Williamstown. All up a good place to catch up with friends and eat well.
yeah i remember when i went food there was pretty expensive xx
