Mykonos is an iconic takeaway shop in Sandy Bay. It has a variety of takeaway foods, including yiros/souvlaki, hot chips, fried foods, toasted sandwiches, burgers etc.
They make their own potato cakes and they are the best tasting ones in Hobart.
The store is open until the wee hours of the morning so it's great if you get late night munchies.
At Steve's kebab house you can get a fresh toasted kebab made up with a variety of meats, salads and sauces to choose from.
They have a menu of kebabs available or you can choose the filling yourself.
Quick, easy and reasonably priced.

Chrome serves great coffee and snacks with a nice outdoor area which backs onto a small park. It has some gluten free options available on the menu.
As it is right opposite Elizabeth St College it tends to fill up with college students during certain times.
Food stop is a reasonably large shop which offers a variety of take away food from hot chips, to burgers, etc.
This shop is open 24 hrs so it's great when you get the late night munchies!
Paesano is a very popular Italian restaurant and take away which does pizza and pasta.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and the food tastes nice.
They have some tables downstairs and a new extension upstairs.
They aren't open on Monday nights.
The pides and souvlakis/yiros at this place are great quality and great value. The yiros are always made fresh but you don't have to wait too long. The salad fillings are always fresh and meat is always hot and well cooked.
They have a great range of turkish pides and pizzas available too.
There some seating available or you can take away. The restaurant is always clean and staff are friendly and helpful.
Sizzling Court is by far my favourite restaurant for asian cuisine. With the atmosphere and service, you feel like you're in a very expensive restaurant, yet the meals are well priced and well presented.
My favourite dish is the satay beef skewers - they absolutely melt in your mouth.
Flippers is one of the seafood punts by Constitution dock that offer freshly caught and cooked seafood at a reasonable price. It's a fantastic meal option on a warm summer's day or night.
It's so nice to get your fish and chips and eat it with the seagulls on constitution dock - followed of course by an icecream!
There's nothing better than getting freshly cooked seafood and eating it on the docks surrounded by seagulls, particularly on a nice summer day.
The fish is only cooked to order, and doesn't have to travel very far, so you know it's fresh. Great for a quick meal for lunch or dinner.
Very reasonably priced.
Pasta Resistance offers a number of italian dishes that you can either eat in or take away. Basically you pick the sauce and the pasta and they heat it up on the spot, so it's fairly quick and easy.
I've had a few different types of pasta and lasagna there before, and the serving sizes are generous. The food is OK but it's not my favourite Italian take away place.
They do have a large selection of gelato to take away as well.
