While not exuding the pretentious attitudes of some neighbouring delicatessens, Euro Delicatessen is still very much worth a visit. The selection of made-on-premises snags are impressive - the South American sausages were a hit with the family, while the black pudding was unique, being of great texture and slightly minted....very nice indeed. Coffee was high class also...

Had the Beef Rendang at this establishment today - the service was fast, but that was about all of the highlights in terms of customer service here. The rendang was very impressive, a large portion, but I will tell you in a few hours just how it all went - let's just say that the guts are feeling it right now, churning.... I wouldn't mind going back here, but I think that with kids, it might be a mistake.

In terms of high class Cantonese cuisine, Happy's is a bit of a benchmark in Canberra. It is an institution in fact. The chicken and salted fish fried rice is outstanding, and the sizzling garlic prawns are hard to go past. It isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for with this place.

Brazilian BBQ - sounds great, hey ladies and gents.... and let me tell you, it is! If you are a vegan or vegetarian, exit the building now, but if you don't mind your choice of 10-15 types of beautifully cooked meat (and all you can eat) along with salads, well, this place is a must. The atmosphere isn't bad, the staff are friendly, but the food is the drawcard here. Great place to eat - one of the best in the Penrith area in my experience.

Yes, Ramas is as good as they say - it is a gem. The flavours are so unique - Fijian Indian food is simply stunning when it is cooked as well as it is here. We took the family along and the toddlers even loved it. The fish pakoras were delightful. The lamb saag was certainly a new take on what we're used to and the goat curry was out of this world. The service is second to none and the ambience is reflected as a result.

Morks, may your Thai food brilliance and influence spread far and wide in Canberra. Of the restaurants in which I've eaten in Canberra, Morks is a clear standout. I've done the take away thing from Morks also, and the service is always first class. The flavours are fresh and the chef clearly knows their trade. If only my toddlers liked chilli. This place deservedly gets the five stars.

The service is slick, the menu is innovative, the price is over the top - but this is Manuka, ladies and gents. The staff were very accommodating when we went there on a very busy Sunday lunch in June. The soup was quite impressive and the beef burger that I went for was really well done - it is gourmet, but for the price, it has to be. Nice place to take visitors - it shows off some of Canberra's class.

This place is certainly one of the (arguably THE) best sushi outlets in Canberra - does it match up to sushi in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne??? No, it doesn't, the variety isn't great, but the actual quality isn't too bad at all. There are many many worse places that provide sushi in Canberra and if we're in Manuka, this place is a bit of a default for our family. The only downer, is that this place isn't open on Sundays.... DOH!!!! Rather expensive, but hey, that comes with the territory that is Manuka.

I've been to the Tak Kee Roast Inn @ Dickson three times. Once in 2001, once a couple of months back and once today. The first visit was a family dinner - and what I thought was a ring of onion in Mongolian sauce, was in fact, a rubber band. Boing! Let's just say that though the signage out the front hasn't changed, the service and the quality of the traditional Chinese roasted meats is far better than I can remember from 2001! The Char Siu is better than Kenny's over the road in my opinion - though the decor isn't as nice, it's what tastes that counts! If you like this style of cuisine, go for it, the Tak Kee in is a good'un!

When you think Canberra, rarely do you think Fish and Chips... they are quite rare, but I think (after a sample size of one visit) that this is a good one. The chips were well done and the fish was well priced and of a generous size. Even got a free potato scallop thrown in, which was a nice touch, but not good for my podgy belly.
