Finding a good electrician is quite hard when there is so many companies in Melbourne.

I chosen John, as he was man who is self - employed business company and, I know he will take care for his customers.

John immediately called after sending my enquires. One like a quick service response, who within 20 minutes visited my home and fixed a electrical hazard.

Woohoo!! Thanks John, Leo and Jiabin for installing an air conditioner in my room. I called John and requested for a split system to be installed as I've sweltered enough summers in my west facing room. John also recommended Jiabin who was a very competent ventilation installer. I just had one condition, install the split system before those dreaded 40 degree days, within 2 weeks all 3 rock up and it was done within half a day! John also took me through what he was doing and explored the best options available, the best would have been to run the wire through the cavity wall through the roof and ceiling to the switchboard, that would have been a crazy amount of work but we worked out that he could link the split system to an existing switch in the room. I was worried that it may trip the system or worse, fry out the wires but was reassured by John and so far so good! They've got a saying, "do it once, do it good" these guys do exactly that, nothing dodgy or behind your back wiring that you'll have to worry about in the near future. Will definately recommend them to do any electrical works. You might even learn a thing or two too! Eg, John was giving a tutorial on voltage drop. *two thumbs up* keep up the good work!!!

John is fantastic. He is clearly a customer-focused tradesman, is friendly, professional, entertaining and knows his stuff.

He dedicated the time to answer several queries and make some suggestions about the work I wanted completed, even before he knew he would be doing the work.

John did an excellent job with the work itself with the assistance of Raoul (also very friendly and professional). They completed a large job over the course of a single (long) day despite my insistence that it wouldn't inconvenience me if they came back to finish the job another day.

John showed up on time for the initial quote and on time again to complete our electrical work. He even called the night before to confirm.

He's extremely friendly, and did all of the electrical work we'd requested with no fuss (2x ceiling fans, new downlights and new bathroom ligs) with no problems whatsoever. He didn't even mind our beagles sniffing him wherever he went!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend John to any of my friends, and will certainly be calling him again if the need arises.

When I noticed my main switchboard had a trouble, quickly searched the professional list in the local business guide and called John, J.A.E Electrics.
It was everyone's enjoyable dinner time on Friday night. However, John answered my call without any delay and spotted the trouble immediately. He gave me instructions and advise what to do and what not to do, so I can sleep the enjoyable Friday night with a peace of mind until John arrives with his tools next day.
The next day, John gave me a courtesy call that he was on the way to my place and arrived soon. I believe this is an extra professional manner of any trader.

We called John after reading very positive reviews on WOMO. John upgraded our mains switchboard, which is now fitted with safety switches, installed 2 LED floodlights in our backyard, 2 LED tube lights in our garage, 2 LED down lights In our bathroom and wired and installed an IXL ceiling heat lamp in our ensuite, which proved a bit challenging but John overcame the problem. John is a very experienced and knowledgeable electrician and a genuine honest and humble man. He prides himself on customer liaison to ensure the customer is happy with the outcome. John is a very experienced electrician, with plenty of knowledge and customer service is his main priority. Experienced a high voltage injection from power supplier, causing electical faults in the house, and reducving ability to live in the house for 10 weeks due to not safe to use the power. John was able to advocate on our behalf towards the power company in order to fix the problem promptly and provide a safe living environment. Thank you again John for your professionalism, easy going nature, advocation and fantastic customer service.

Now I know why J.A.E Electrics have achieved a 5 star service award – it comes down to excellent customer service from start to finish. John is an experienced and knowledgeable electrician and in fact the only electrician who was able to correctly diagnose a problem I was having with dimming lights every time an appliance was being turned on.

I contacted many other electricians and explained the issue I was having and all of them told me that I had to upgrade my mains cable. John was the only electrician who took the time to explain in great detail that the issue with dimming lights was more than likely to be a fault in the neutral cable (ie. the cable which runs from the pole in the street to the house). John explained that it would be unnecessary to upgrade the mains cable and advised me to contact the power company immediately to investigate. That afternoon the power company arrived and confirmed exactly what John had diagnosed. The neutral cable was changed and no more lights dimming! Problem fixed.

I was so impressed by John’s honest over-the-phone support and advice that I hired him to upgrade my switchboard. (He also installed a double power-point in the laundry and didn’t charge for it). But John’s service doesn’t stop there – my ducted heating recently broke down and he was able to refer me to his Heating/Air Conditioning colleague Jiabin Li from JB Airtech Mechanical Services. Jiabin recently installed a new ducted heating unit and I’m thoroughly pleased with his service and workmanship. I found both John and Jiabin to be reliable, friendly and genuine. They care about customer service and were happy to answer all my questions. I highly recommend both John and Jiabin and would not hesitate to use their services again the future.

John sent his Heating/Air Conditioning partner out to our place in Richmond back in early June to assess our faulty bulkhead heating/aircon split system.

I never caught the gentleman's name but he traveled for about 2.5 hours in disastrous traffic, arriving after dark, fixed the issue in about 5 minutes (ok, maybe 7 minutes). As the unit roared back to life after little more than a twist of his arm, he claimed that since the issue was so trivial (likely not electrical but water ice blocking up a valve in the balcony unit), he wouldn't take payment (not even for petrol despite my protest!).

He lingered just long enough to give us an idea of options for any future installation/upgrade in such a limited space apartment (concrete floor and roof).

The unit has functioned perfectly fine since.

Although I don't intend for this to set a precedent to others looking at these reviews (e.g free service!!), the attitude and interaction seems consistent with the other reviews here about JAE Electrics' passion and commitment. The service even over the phone was friendly, humourous and enthusiastic - far more encouraging than the 2 other bored/grumpy/mumbling trades I rang for quotes first.

The time is coming to fully replace this ageing aircon/heating system and I will be sure to call them back to do the full job. We have also recommended JAE to friends and family.
