I read another review on this place,and couldn't agree more.the vans are chatty,dirty and unsafe,as are the toilets/shower facilities.because its near the meat works it smells,and because its near a river and also salt water,it's infested with Mosquitos and sand flies. it could be cleaned up and make it more appealing to actual holidaying people,but in the 13 years I've lived in mackay,it's been the same the whole time.

This shop has everything in it,and I mean everything lol.you can use the Internet there,get faxes/photocopies,buy cigarettes,get gifts of all types from Aussie stuff(flags,koala teddys,calendars etc)to cheap kids toys and accessories,to joke items(shocking pens,magic cards)there's sunglasses,Buddha statues,hundreds of shirts,which you can also design yourself and they print them for you,you can even go down the back and buy lunch.the food is great,really cheap,really quick,and tasty,it's never busy as its still pretty secret spot in mackay :) the guy who owns and runs the business,David,is just great,so lovely to everyone,he's polite,always asks about your kids how you are etc,gives u a free lighter when you buy smokes etc.hes a true businessman,and knows what people want.shop is overall great value,with so much stuff it would take you hours to look at it all!

This place is EXCELLENT!!!theres seating outside,nice table and chairs with a candle burning softly,it's nice and cool and has a nice ambience.inside is bright,colourful and clean.the food is in big Bain maries,all ready to go,and all the food is constantly freshly cooked and delicious.they also have vegetarian.the prices are best in mackay,they have specials such as the "holy cow"meal,rice and 2 meat curry for only $10.all the food is extremely affordable.they have tasting platters on top of the Bain Maris,which is a first for mackay,and the only place that does it,and what a great idea it is!they refresh the tasters often as people are always trying the tasters.great since not everyone's familiar with all Indian!the naan breads are cooked in front of you,traditionally,they are handed to you hot and delicious!the staff are the loveliest people,always ready to help and lovely to all.i go there quite regularly,and thoroughly recommend it.theres another Indian place in mackay that was voted best,but I personally think this place is the best,and it's a welcome change in mackay!quick,delicious,fresh tasty Indian takeaway!

People in mackay rave about this place,but personally all the times I've been there(admittedly only 6 times over 6 years)I've never quite got what people see in it.the food nice,but it's not really a wow,tell your friends about a certain dish etc.the prices are average restaurant prices,the decor is nice,particularly the big tv they've made into a fish tank.they have a big selection of desserts,which unfortunately again are just nice.its located right in town,and is always quite packed.you can also go in and order takeaway,to do so but you have to actually go into the restaurant,so maybe don't wear your pj"s in as I regrettably did once lol.

Shop is pretty ordinary,it's always quite packed,especially at dinner/lunch time,the drive through line stretches out onto the street;as does the line inside the building.the food more often then not is dry or been there for a while,so when you go in,make sure you ask for fresh chips etc.kfc is probably the most exxy takeaway in its category.compared to McDonald's etc,and considering the foods not that fresh or nice,I personally don't think it's worth it.

This cafe is really convenient location being in the shopping centre in town.clean inside,outside settings are clean too,and there's a few tables;so there's no waiting for tables.the food is always good,service is great,and its extremely kid friendly-I always take my 5yr old girl there for pancakes :) it's actually always got a great mix of people,all ages/races/class etc,so you never feel out office,it's not one of those snooty cafes lol.good for Sunday mornings,lunches brunch weekdays etc :)

The restaurant interior is a nice setting,there's a small but relaxing and cool outside area.the staff are gorgeous Thai women in traditional clothing,with beautiful nature to match their lovely smiles :) the food is a little exxy,but mmmm,soooo delicious!!i particular recommend the Singapore chilli crab and also the sizzling dishes.be warned though,the chilli crab is really really hot!but again,delicious and worth the bit extra cost wise.

The restaurant location is great,right on the main street in Mackay,and easy to find with lots of accessible parking.Th interior is standard thai,as in the elephant statues,par for course silk material etc,all nice though and it is clean.The toilets but are really grotty,and not as clean or as nice as they could be...the prices are a little more then most,but the food is divine,I usually go there once a fortnight,as they also have a seperate takeaway section which is so convenient and easy to use!
