Nice camp area right beside the beach.

South West Rocks is a 3km walk around the beach and the Trial Bay Gaol tourist activity is only metres from the campground.

There are heaps of kangaroos around the park.

The amenities are quite ok.

Getting to a barbeque is not easy

This park is in the heart of Port Macquarie.

It runs alongside the breakwall so the water is just metres away.

The powered sites do not have slabs and the ground is somewhat uneven.

No camp kitchen but there are a few good barbeque areas.

The amenities are very good, clean and roomy.

The main business centre is only a very short walk away

This is a lovely quiet caravan park at the top of a hill. It overlooks the inlet.

The sites have a slab and room for a tent as well as your van.

The amenities were clean and in good condition. There are several blocks around the park.

They offer free internet.

In two months of travelling this is the best park that we have stayed in to date.

It is truly an oasis, right on Lake Kununurra. The sites are well shaded and there are lovely lawns throughout the park.

There are also some spectacular boab trees throughout the park.

If you love bird life then you can sit down on the foreshore in the park at dusk and watch all the birds on the water.

The pool is very nice and it is in a beautiful lawned yard with seats and a barbeque area.

There are a couple of camp kitchens and several amenities blocks. The main amenities block is large and well maintained. The stalls are quite large.

A magnificent park - and one of the best value (cheaper) parks in Kununurra

A nice park for a short stay with lovely shaded powered sites. There are no slabs and all sites are on loose dust.

The front of the park looks quite rough but, at the back along the creek, is quite nice.

The camp kitchen is rough and the amenities are quite basic, but clean. Use the amenities block at the front. There is not much room in the showers but they are more reliable.

There is a nice pool to have a dip in and freshen up.

This is an amazing tour.

Nev the tour guide is extremely knowledgeable about the area and very easy to listen to.

The tour starts in an old 1970s bus and Nev shows you around Timber Creek on the way out to the boat.

The tour boat is quite comfortable and puts you right at the water level. It moves quite quickly at times.

The cruise covers 70 km of the majestic Victoria River. Without getting out onto the river it is difficult to get an appreciation of it's size. I suspect that many tourists travel through the area without ever truly seeing this great river.

We saw heaps of wildlife on the 70km cruise downstream - crocodiles, wallabies, eagles, kites, a jabiru, a dingo, white cockatoos and even cattle on the way home.

We stopped at a pontoon where we got off and had a drink and some finger food. Neville, the tour operator, caught some catfish and put it out on a platform for the eagles to swoop in and get.

On the way home we saw a pretty good sunset.

We were picked up for our cruise on Lake Argyle at 9:30am and got back at 6:30pm.

It was a 70km bus ride to the lake from Kununurra.

When we got to the dam wall our tour guide took us across to the other side and we got to see the Ord River on the low side of the wall.

We drove down the hill and boarded the Kimberley Cat - a lovely modern catamaran. The captain showed us around the yacht and explained the safety procedures, then we set off at cruising speed.

There was a lovely morning tea waiting for us when we boarded - cakes, dry biscuits and dips. Later we had a lovely lunch of cold meats and salads and then an afternoon tea just before sunset.

We cruised a long way out into the water, past the many islands of varying rock. After lunch we got to see the wide expanse of the lake at around the point where the Durack homestead would once have been - most of it is actually still there, under the water.

We got to sit on the back of the cat with our feet and legs in the water as it cruised along.

Later this afternoon we met a seaplane and three more joined the cruise. (They had been to the Bungle Bungles for the day).

We also had an opportunity to swim in the lake. Diving in I braced myself for the clod but it wasn't really cold at all. It was nice and refreshing but the boat was drifting so I didn't stray too far.

After drying off it was time to have a look at the sunset. We got some nice colours as the sun went down behind the range. It wasn't the greatest of sunsets but it was still pretty good.

It was dark when we docked and then it was onto the bus for the return to Kununurra.

This was a very nice one day cruise and the perfect way to finish off our Alice visit.

The trip visits a number of scenic places throughout the ranges with fantastic photo opportunities.

There is a mix of bus riding (quite a comfortable bus), short walking and, if the weather is good, an opportunity to swim late in the day.

Lunch at Glen Helen Resort is just delicious and there is plenty to eat. After lunch there is the option to go up and have a look around in a helicopter.

The tour leaves at 8am and returns at 5:30pm

A very nice park with great facilities.

There is shade everywhere and the sites are roomy with a nice slab.

There are a number of modern amenities blocks around the park and a very nice camp kitchen with everything you would need.

The park has a pool but it is also located just 500m from the Katherine Hot Springs.

There is a bike path outside the park that runs right into town (and various other places as well). This is a great location.

There is a bistro attached to the park that has live music at times.

While it is expensive this park is one of the better value parks in Katherine

The campground is nicely shaded and well spread out. The feature of this park is that it provides very easy access to the Mataranka Hot Springs.

There are a number of toilet blocks and they are clean and easy to access.

There is a shop with tourist information, a bistro and a licensed bar. They also have live music playing through the tourist season.
