The park is full at school holiday times so make sure that you book ahead. It does not feel too crowded though.

The sites are quite roomy. We have heaps of space outside the van.

The amenities block is large and clean and the showers are quite good. The second amenities block, nearer to the beach, gets locked however.

There are quite a few barbeque areas abd a well equiped camp kitchen so there is no queueing to cook food. All barbeques are free.

A very nice park, right on the beach.

This is an excellent experience. Forget the Great Barrier Reef, Ningaloo Reef is only a very short distance on the boat to get out to this remarkable reef.

On our cruise we got to snorkel on two parts of the reef, once in the morning and then later in the afternoon. We got to swim with a massive logger head turtle as well as many beautiful tropical fish.

We went out to the open ocean to search for whale sharks and found many of them to swim with. The experienced dive guides ensure that you get up as close as is allowed.

There was also a swim with mantra rays and then they took us to a group of hump back whales that were playing right near our boat.

The staff were excellent, helpful and very easy to talk to. They went out of their way to ensure everyone had an amazing experience.

There was ample delicious food throughout the day including a superb selection for the buffet lunch.

The trip is expensive but the experience is worth every cent.

(We went on our cruise in early July)

These are an open campground, quite well set out. The powered van sites have a slab and the rest of the ground is sandy gravel. There is a nice grassed area for tents and around the pool.

The camp ground has a pool, shop, restaurant - for takeaway and sit in meals from 5:30pm. There is also a nice camp kitchen with barbeques, hotplates, sinks, frdges and a TV.

There is no Telstra mobile coverage here.

There are two amenities blocks. One is old and nasty. The (mens) showers have no doors - just a shower curtain and it is not easy keeping your clothes dry. The toilets are cramped. The other is much more modern. The toilets are well spaced and there is a part partition in the showers. The hot water tends to run out quickly though.

This is a lovely location with easy access to the nearby beaches and the National Park.

The camp grounds are pretty basic, although there is some shade. The ground is just red dust. The tent area is grassed.

The amenities are pretty basic with quite small showers. They have a movable head and a shower curtain so tour clothing remains dry.

There are a lot of workers staying in more permanent accomodation.

To the south of the roadhouse id the Ashburton river. It was flowing strongly when I was there and was quite majestic. If you stay here make sure you visit the river!

A great little park - but it is small so you SHOULD phone ahead to book a spot. There are no other parks in Dampier.

It costs only $22 per night for a powered site!!!!!

There is shade and grassed areas. A nice barbeque area and a sink in the laundry area. The amenities are small but quite ok. Showers are a bit small but they have movable heads and a curtain so your shoes stay dry.

Lovely outlook over the Dampier Archipelago

Not the greatest park in Aus but a pretty good way to break up the monotonous drive between Broome and Port Hedland.

The park is dry and dusty with no slabs. There are trees to shade you though.

The camp kitchen is pretty basic - not even a hotplate.

The amenities are surprisingly good with excellent showers. They have screen doors and movable shower heads.

Lots of peacocks walk around the park

Not as good as it looks on the brochure.

The park is dry and dusty so be prepared to keep cleaning the red Pilbara soil out of your van.

There is a pool and a camp kitchen but the kitchen has only the bare basics.

The amenities are pretty good. You need a code to get in the door. Showers are a nice size with movable heads.

Their brochure says "Experience the trip of a lifetime" and that is exactly what it is. Sorry WOMO but you don't have enough stars for this business!

Start off with a 200km trip on Big Foot - a 4wd truck/bus on the sandy track to Cape Leveque, stopping at Beagle Bay on the way. A lovely breakfast in the resort at Cape Leveque then onto the hatchery at One Arm Point for a tour.

Then its on the sea plane over the Buccaneer Archipelago - what magnificent scenery. The Kimberley is just beautiful.

Landing on the ocean at the Horizontal Falls and then onto the jet boats for a magnificent buzz.

Lunch in the floating restaurant - crispy barramundi and fresh salad, then a chance to swim in the shark cage.

Another trip on the jet boat to have a look at some more of the area - including some great gorges.

Finally the seaplane trip home to end a great day.

This was the full day tour but they also have other shorter tours.

If you are up this way dont worry about the cost - just do it

This place is one of the few places in Broome where you can buy some food and sit by the beach and eat it - certainly on the east side.

They serve excellent pizza and pasta as well as other dessert items through the day.

The pizza quality was excellent - well covered with a nice thinish crust. They only come in the one size - medium.

The pasta was very well cooked and put together. It was a chicken carbonara with just the right mix of ingredients.
