This is a very crowded caravan park with lots of permanent sites. Interestingly a lot of the permanent sites are on the waterfront while some of the powered sites are shoved up the back in the sun.

We tried to book from Derby but were told they don't take bookings, so we got here early to get a good site. We wanted to stay 7 nights but could only stay 6 (presumably cos the site is booked ?????).

The waterfront sites look nice but how do you get one. We are well away from the water on an uneven site with very little shade.

The amenities are clean and pretty much standard.

There is no camp kitchen but they have beach side barbeque areas.

The location is great, right beside the Town Beach and only 2km from the main town centre.

Exspensive though - and no discount for the inferiour site

This is an excellent value tour. It takes you along the Gibb River road which is very rough. This is a much better option than driving it yourself. This was brought out by the sight of a rolled over 4wd on the trip home.

The tour takes you to Windjana Gorge, Lillimooloora station (where much of the history of the aborigine Jandamarra is explained) and finally to the Tunnel Creek cave.

The tour guide walks you through the cave pointing out the main features. I am sure that most of the non-tour sight seers didn't see all of the features, such as the fresh water croc, the best stelligmites and the aboriginal art. Given the darkness of the cave it is so easy to walk past them.

It is a 2 hour bus ride in and the same back to Derby. Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea is provided.

A lovely park with shaded sites. The powered sites have a slab and heaps of room.

The amenities blocks (there are 3 of them) are ultra modern, clean and roomy. The showers have some protection for your clothes. The shower heads are the modern type that don't give as good a spray.

The park is located within minutes walk from the shops (including IGA supermarket), town pool, information center and the library. It is only 3km from the jetty and there is a walking/cycle path going out there that runs in front of the park.

The camp kitchen is excellent with all equipment that you would need. There are plenty of seating areas nearby.

Another very basic park, possibly the worst we have seen in our two months on the road.

The sites have no slabs and we were originally sent to a site with no power.

There is no swimming pool and a very small camp kitchen with only basic facilities. It is pretty rough and looks dirty.

The amenities are very ordinary. One toilet, one urinal - right beside the was basins - and two small showers. There is no protection for your clothes while you are showering. The whole block is very old and run down.

There is no security in the park and we were hassled by locals in the evening.

This is a pretty basic park. There is a swimming pool and two amenities blocks but no camp kitchen and very few barbeques.

Each powered site shares a slab with it's neighbor. The rest of the park is dry red dirt.

The amenities look reasonable and clean. In the showers there is no protection for your clothing but they are at least a decent size.

The owner told us to lock up all our valuables over night.

Generally a nice park but a vastly different feel to most parks we have stayed in. It felt more like a backpackers park - with a lot of very young people staying there.

The park is 2km out of town but there is a bike path all the way in.

The amenities were a little grotty but they were a nice size.

The park has a swimming pool and a camp kitchen. The camp kitchen was in great demand and had all facilities.

Our site was near the road so we did get quite a bit of road noise.
