Good restaurant for good chinese food, though a bit pricey for what it is (gotta pay the rent somehow I suppose...). Location and decor are excellent. Service is a bit up and down though normally pretty good. Not a bad place for group gatherings - just be prepared to fork over some serious cash if you want to eat a lot.
Consistently good food and very reasonable prices considering the location. The staff are friendly enough and the meal portions, whilst I wouldnt call them generous, are pretty good and you dont go hungry.
The food is certainly tasty enough (dumplings are a speciality), and the price is certainly right, but precious little else is about this restaurant. I've eaten here twice and wont be going back again. The decor is cheap, dated, and nasty. The crockery is chipped (I may be wrong, but I thought it was against health regulations to serve food on chipped crockery?). Its always cramped (which I guess is testament to its popularity), and the service is a bit on the ordinary side. Go here if you are really, really hungry and all you want is chinese food. If you even remotely feel like you could go some other kind of cuisine, do yourself a favour and do that instead.
Approximate cost: $15
excellent little pizza and pasta joint in a great location. The pizzas are reasonably priced and very tasty - I had the American which is a simple pizza, but they did it extremely well. Will definitely go here again.
Approximate cost: $13
Fantastic indoor trampoline park that kids just LOVE! There are loads of trampolines on the floor and the walls and it's safe as houses with all the padding around the springs etc. Cost is $15 for the first hour but less after that. You have to buy special jumping socks before you can have a go but it's not much. They also do dodgeball and other fun activities. Awesome couple of hours for the kids. Would recommend kids 10+ years of age for it though.
Approximate cost: $15 for an hour
Fairly tired old hotel that's been a Sydney staple for many years but is in serious need of an overhaul. The tap beer is cold and at a good price, but there's precious little else to recommend the Forbes.
Good beers on tap at reasonable prices I guess, considering its location. Seriously lacking in atmosphere however, and the staff have major attitude. Would consider going again, but possibly only at gunpoint.
Really good beer - not the cheapest but worth every cent - with outstanding service from staff that have real personality (and dressed "traditionally", though it's more "stereotypically" IMHO). Food was fantastic - I also had the platter though to be honest whilst the pork belly was delicious I thought the sausages were the standout, which was surprising but in a nice way.
Very happy with my experience here. Would go again in a heartbeat.
This little gem of a comics store is tucked away so does take some finding - you wont just stumble across it you'd actually have to be actively looking for it. Once found however...wow! Great range of comics and graphic novels, and they also stock a fairly impressive range of boardgames and models as well. I found the prices to be much the same as everywhere else but the staff are great - friendly and knowledgable. This store is getting my business moving forward.
Located centrally on the main shopping drag in Yarraville this bakehouse/cafe offers a range of pre-made wraps and rolls/sandwiches, as well as offering the ability to make your own with a great range of fresh ingredients. They've also got pies and cakes on offer, all of which taste great (try the profiteroles, but only if you don't mind your arteries hardening just by looking at them. They are wickedly awesome). Service is pretty good - they were busy when we went in today but they got to us quickly enough and were friendly despite being rushed. I thought it was a bit pricey, but overall was happy with the food, service, and experience.
