Good quality, they go to market every morning, friendly, helpful staff, competitive prices
They will take telephone orders and home deliver local for people that need it, e.g. new mums, sick or elderly, immobile due to car problems. No delivery fee.
I have had several pairs of shoes and other clothing repaired there. Quality is fantastic and that is not overstatement. There's a tram stop right outside.
Not crowded or noisy like so many Federation Square dining places. I like it because they have a good selection of small entree items, a bit like a tapas menu, mostly under $10. Prices seem fair for a CBD restaurant, wine and beer lists are good. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
Approximate cost: $17
Formerly an Amcal Pharmacy, there has been a dramatic change with the new owners. Service on prescriptions is excellent. While regular prices on non-prescription items are a little high, they often get in large quantities of everyday items such as soap and mouthwash and sell it for a lower price than the supermarkets.
Definitely not your average suburban bookstore. The staff have an almost encylopedic knowledge of their area, although their music specialist did not know what I meant when I said "monophonic". They make an excellent effort to get in something special if it is not in stock. They will try and find it in another of their stores first, then try Australian suppliers and then search the world. If you cannot get to the store they will post things to you for just a few dollars. I have not bought books there for a while but their CD prices seem fair.
Been there for lunch a few times and after work drinks. Food is good but a bit overpriced. Drinks likewise, but it is 300km to the next town so I guess it's to be expected.
Approximate cost: $30
This store is a gem. Of course it has all the usual beers and wines at good prices, but it also has some rare specialties well priced. The only comparable store I can think of would be Vintage Cellars, but that's part of the Coles group. Barrique seems to be a sole trader and well deserving of support.
Excellent service, very caring vets, thoroughly check out my cat on every visit and give advice freely. Fair pricing. Clean and well maintained.
They do an excellent Yum Cha daily, 2 sittings most days. Food is excellent but the service borders on atrocious. Presumably authentic food from the number of Chinese people dining there. Very crowded, very noisy. BYO and licensed. They also do plated dishes. Booking is essential.
One of the better Chinese Restaurants in Box Hill. Very good food, good prices, helpful service. Usually not noisy and crowded like many others in the area. BYO and licensed. Dumplings are delicious and they will suggest a good selection if you do not know what to choose. They also do good plated dishes.
