This is a no fuss restaurant. Just go in & take a seat anywhere. The server who was also the cashier would come to you quickly. I ordered their Special Fried Rice. The portion was big, more than enough for one person. It got every ingredient a fried rice should have to taste great. A very satisfying & filling experience that came with free hot tea.

I had eaten at Shalom elsewhere but this was my first visit at Kingsford branch. I was in familiar surroundings - decor, layout, even staff looked similar. I ordered my favourite Lotong Ayam. The bowl was huge, the yellowish-orange gravy tasted great, and the grilled chicken thigh big & meaty. But the rice cubes were miserably few. I was still hungry ...........

Nothing beats this restaurant. They have a dish on their menu that not many Chinese restaurants have - Beef Brisket & my favourite. It was so tender & smashingly delicious. I ordered it as a standalone dish & separate rice. They were generous with the lettuce provided underneath the piping hot beef large cut. It went so well with the rice which was cooked perfectly - dry, soft, hot & fragrant.

This cafe is situated at the alleyway. It's better to take bus or train and then a short walk along interesting shops to get there. I parked my car not more than 5 metres away at $4.50 per hour. At 12pm, it was already crowded. I ordered Spicy Beef Bulgogi Don that came with rice. It was not bad. But I quickly regretted when I saw my next table served the BIBIMBAB. It looked enticingly delicious.

I was impressed with the spick and span, "open for all to see" cafe. The staff were dressed smartly in uniform and neat. They moved about confidently, knowing what they were doing. They were alert and attentive when I approached. I ordered a cappuccino. It was big & delicious. It kept me warm throughout my walk round Queen Victoria Market. There was so much to see.

It is located at the main street of Clayton but the store front is tiny and the dining area is clamped. I wanted to go elsewhere but it must be good, right if despite the conditions, there was a crowd like 12 people eating or waiting to be served. I ordered Sop Buntut (Oxtail Soup) which came with rice. True enough, it was good and cheap. But I waited for 1 hour.

A busy place with many shops and crowded with mostly Chinese, Vietnamese people. This restaurant is big with basic decor. Many locals were already eating there unbelievably at 11.30am. I ordered Beef Special. It was good except for the beef ball which disintegrated upon biting. Otherwise, I would have given 4 stars. Free hot tea was provided in a thermos flask.

You go to Skyhigh for the beautiful views and cool weather. It is not free. You have to pay $6 per car if you drive. But how else can you go there? Then a piping hot beverage inside the well heated Bistro. The service was pleasant but could be more attentive. I ordered a Mocha that came with a KISS cookie & a pink marshmallow - exactly what I need & want - love it!

This restaurant is in the CBD but you won't know as it is so quiet and the few shops there are mostly closed (at 6pm). A typical Indian restaurant (decor, smell & music) but brightly lit with so many "innovative" lights. They change their menu ever so often. How do I know? The dish I looked up their website not many days ago was not on the menu & they confirmed it. But to my delight, they accommodated my order (very flexible indeed). Unfortunately, the Eggplant Beef (HOT) & rice separate did not turn out well. If the eggplant was more & of larger pieces, this dish might well be good. The beef was very generous. The female server was pleasant & enquired about my day spent earlier. Water was provided without asking. The prices could be brought down a notch to entice more customers to eat here.

At the end of Main Road, a big shop with traditional look (darker colours & red lantern) is the Inn of Khong. The counter is right behind the entrance door with a lobby to match for those waiting for takeaways. To the left is a big room that accommodate 5 big tables which was at my time crowded. I ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice which would suit those who prefer not too sweet.
