Visited on a busy festival day today. Place wasnt busy around 4 pm so we went in to have a snack, drink and a sit down. Service was very fast, matter of minutes and a hello how r u greeting. We ordered 2 pulled pork and slaw rolls for $7:50 each ,a coke, grapetiser drink and orange juice
Orange juice was fresh. Well,it seemed like it,grapetiser was wondefully cold, and refreshing, coke was midget size. I would have thought we deserved either straws or a glass but got neither. The pulled pork roll was dry about 4 inches long and the slaw was dry cept for a bitter apple cider vinegar taste. The pork was orange for some reason. Tastless and very dry tho it did appear moist but had no real tatse. Small for 7:50. Its a small shop, clean, not bright with light. Tables arnt cleaned after each customer in a timely manner. They have a nice menu but what we ordered wasnt worth our money. If you are in the area it might be worth a try on a stop over opposite ricks garage. Maybe coffee or snack
Another visit on friday night for takeaway.
Not too many people waiting so took about 15 min. Parking is still crap in the area but we were lucky and got a spot right out front as a car was leaving.
Place is still nice and clean, tables outside need to be cleaned down as people leave though, not good sitting at a dirty table you have to clean yourself.
We ordered beach pack $23.90
2 potato scallops @$1.90 each which i thinkmis overpriced for a slice of potato flour and water, pineapple fritter $2:50 for a small one small calamari for almost $7 and drinks and seafood stick.
The battered fish was terribly greasy tonight and it just all fell off when teying to nreak a piece off the end of the fillet, was soggy.
Chips are slightly fatter than fried and were very brown and crispy, partner likes them that way i dont,i like to taste the potato . Calamari was cooked ok but again the crumb just fell off it when picked up.
They need to learn how to pack food properly for, takeaway it was just all dumped in the box. The pineapple, fritter was gross as they put it on top of the fish and stuck the lemon on top of it!
Wrap it separate please guys and a little, cinnamon sugar wouldnt go astray.
Tonights effort was way below our first visit. Nothing to make me want to go back again now. We have visited a few times since I first reviewed and it was greasy then too. It nice enough to have down at the beach though on a nice arvo but nothing as the name suggests de lish... potato scallops were hardly that, very thin potato and a thick batter. Nothing had a taste tonight tho,the fish was thick and cooked well.
Been here a few times now and due for another revue.
Bought a sausage roll, bacon pie and cauli and broccoli triangle
Cost all up was $16:40
Place is still nice and clean, parking is a bit strained out on the street.
Girl serving was pleasant and happy .
The sausage roll was a bit soft and messy not a crispy pastry but had a nice flavour. The bacon oie just tasted like a plain pie, couldnt taste bacon but was chunky and a decent size ,tho, the gravy was more jellous like . Partners triangle was rather thin and a bit brown,he said it was ok but tatsed nothing like it should.
Its a good stop stop over for tourists and the breads are quite good. Lots of cakes and choices but nothing gourmet or makes you want to go in daily. Nice spot tho
A huge venue for the football and other events.
Seats are tightly packed so not alot of room to move when someone needs to get out.
Toilets need to be kept clean when crowds are here for big venues.
Food and drinks are way over priced and not fresh ,more like eating cardboard thats warm.
The atmosphere here for the footy is great, the crowd noise is uplifting. Yearly membership is unaffordable for most
A wow place. You can climb to the top.point of the building, have lunch or dinner or snax in the cafes, ride the lift very fast to the top 77 floors with the ceiling of the lift having a video of the oitside of the lift mechanics moving with u.
The views from this place are breathtaking. We were lucky to see fighter jets zip by on the day we were here. Thrilling. Overlooking the gold coast beaches and buildings is just awesome. We went back at night too to catch a different views. Well worth it. Pay for ur ticket and you can enter many times during the day.
The burgers we had were sliders and very impressive. The costs arent too far off normal cafes in goldy. The climb isnt something id do but plenty took the plunge ans we just watched them walk all over us. Will go back many times after this.
Approximate cost: $25
Service needs a little smile from the guys but the lady is very friendly.
Got 4 tyres at a good price and then rocked up for wheel alignment and service a couple of weeks later. Car was serviced and done in time frame I was given.
One thing I dont like is the extra $10 they charge for incidentals! Rags, fluids, washers etc.! That stuff should be included in costs and surely they claim that also back in tax ! I have complained and head office said that will be abolished.
Next to kmart and shops so you can do,ur shopping whilst waiting. Service was $149 and tryes were like $79 each even tho, they didnt match my front and back tyres. Handy location
Still give this place a 4 . Never had anything off here. Chips we get are crunchy and not oily, potato scallops are really nice and thick. Crumbed cod is cooked lovely and seafood sticks we had were done very well, they have a great choice of drinks other than coke, they have that nz drink l & p which my partner loves . I had a burger this time and thankfully it was cooked and nothing wrong with it.prices are reasonable .this is our stop for kite day, deiving past to Brisbane.
Approximate cost: $38
Thursday night dinner here last week.
Place was basically empty,2 people infront of usnin the line and a coulle seated and 2 behind us.
Place is well lit, nice big tables .
We ordered a flaming cow on something like foccaccia which was a very small long bread roll, grilled rib fillet, bacon, king island smoked cheddar, lettuce ,tomato, caramelised onion, tomato chutney. They do charge and extra $1 for truffle salt which is a bit much I think.$15.80 for an overpirced burger. He enjoyed it tho, wasnt sloppy and had nice flavour he said. I had a baa baa que lamb, bbq sauce, lettuce tomato, didnt see or taste the onion and mayo on a gf bun that was overly hard . Mine was drippy ,served on slate tiles which i dont like and the mess goes everywhere, especially when picked up by staff. Taste was nice tho,we had a large chips which anywhere else would have been regular for $4:80 and onion rings for same price and 2 drinks, the ale he didnt like.
Tables wernt cleaned as soon as people left and we sat for another ten minutes until,we left and the table next to,us was still dirty.
Our food took almost 15 minutes although they werent busy. Tables and benches had lots of room amd floors were clean. No one over 18 running the place by the looks of it. Nice to have simething different but be prepared for overpriced food for your money and small serve sizes.they have beef lamb and chicken burgers,2 desserts and lots of different aoli.we tried the smokey one with our chips and it was really nice, the chips were perfect, thick cut,not greasy and crispy. Cost us around $50 for dinner which was expensive but if you are around the plaza have a try
Havnt been here for, yonks and its had a revamp.
Looks more like a typical fish and chip shop now.was a cafe when we were last here .
Nice and bright,we ordered the pack for 2 for $23 which was reasonable, fish small chips and calamari. Also ordered seafood sticks
Nothing was greasy which was good, packed in. Ice open boxes ,we did ask for potato scallop but ive never heard of anyone running out of potatoes? Thats what we were told. So chips are pre packaged and so must the scallops be too. Find it hard a fish and chip shop would run out of potatoes. Wondered now how much was out of a box.
Calamari was crumbed nicely and cooked nicely but had the feeling it was more sting ray flaps because of the texture and no stringyness of calamari skin. Seafood sticks were yummy, chips werent crispy really and bit soft,we got a nice tartare with the pack.
Sit in or eat down by the beach like we did.
They have burgers, wraps, gluten free rolls for an extra $3 which i thought a bit pricey, some things are pricey tho. Lots to choose from including expensive thick shakes for $7. A cheesburger and mini chips for kids is also $7.50 which i think is exe. Parking can be a bit rough on a friday night out on the st tho.
Service was just basic, was cooked in under 10 min .open 7am till 7 pm 7 days
Approximate cost: $28
Found some pizza hut vouchers and decided to,use them last night for takeaway.
2 pizza ,bottle drink 1.25 lt and a garlick bread for around $20
We ordered and paid online and picked up in 15 min.
When we got there the shop was empty and kne girl doing the cooking, she saw us but made no acknowledgement,we thought she was on her own and left her to,it thinking she would finish and come serve us . Not the case, she kept looking at us and we said hello, still no acknowledgement,so i got our drink out of the fridge after 5 min and my partner coughed loudly, still no service so my partner yelled out we are here to,pick up an order please! 2 girls from around the back of the fridge next to us decided to run out to serve us after 8 min!
They must have heard us talking and saying hello etc .very poor.
We oredered a ham and pineapple and a pulled beef bbq.
The pulled beef tasted nothing less than sauce which was nice . Can see the meat but not a taste of it.was chewy.
A bit doughy and slightly under cooked on the base
unfortunately the next morning the ham and pineapple re entered this world. The pizza gave us both heart burn all night and made me sick this morning.
Place was clean and bright, parking is aplenty outside but service and pizza were a shocker ,wont be going back no wonder we havnt been there for years
Approximate cost: $21
