The coolie lifesaving club has a great spot overlooking the water. It's a great place to have a quiet beer and a feed at the end of the working week or on the weekend. They put on a pretty decent feed and I'm a big fan of their platters.

The fox has had a pretty decent renovation lately and has a number of different menus. I dined in the designated restaurant and it was good quality. My twice cooked duck was fantastic and has been voted one of the top 50 eats in Brisbane. However my friend said his steak special was overcooked and even though their wasn't many people there the service was still very slow. I have to mark them down slightly because they also don't have a kids menu which I think is a pretty easy thing to do and restaurants should at least have something, fair enough the pub bar not to but the restaurant itself should.

This is a great little italian joint in newstead. They are pretty famous for their pizzas and the one I had certainly didn't let me down. I have heard great reviews of their duck ragu of which I am normally a fan however although it was decent I didn't think it was an amazing as I had heard it was. They also regularly have some great specials and it would probably be in my top 5 italian restaurants in Brisbane.

This brewery is a great place to kick back on a lazy saturday or sunday. It looks like the working brewery it is too so you get that great ambience whilst you are in there. They have a number of great tasty beers and do some really good food also. Their cuban sandwich was as good as I have had in Miami and I will definitely be going back to have it again.

I had been wanting to go here for ages and had an awesome night out with my wife. The food and drinks were magnificent and was ably helped by the good service. They provide a great range of share plates of which we loved all of them especially the Hawaiian potato curry and scallop and wagyu dish. My only complaint was although the KFD was great there wasn't much for the price. This is a great date night venue
I had been wanting to try this place for ages and wasn't disappointed. The buffalo wings are fantastic, just like I have had in the States with that nice fried crispness when you bite into them and a good amount of spice. The pizza was great and flavoursome too. Definitely going back to check out some of the other varieties of wings and their ribs
These kiwis know how to do a good burger! We went there at the end of the lunch Rush but it was still busy. They warned us it would be about 25 mins for our meals in reality it was nowhere like that. The wings were out within 5 mins and the burgers maybe 15. The burgers were a good size and very tasty. The place has a pretty cool vibe and with its location and reputation will do great business

My friend and I chose this place over another one close in Southbank and I was a bit disappointed. Although it was a busy Friday lunch the service was still very slow with both food and drink taking a long time. The food was decent but nothing spectacular at alright prices. I probably wouldn't come back here as there are better places around.
Being on Lygon St, these guys have plenty of competition so need to do things better than most. It is a now little restaurant with a good atmosphere with the fire place and good food. It wasn't fantastic but it was good and service was prompt and quick. I usually like to barter on Lygon St but was tired after a big day with the kids, their kids menu was good and my kids both loved their pasta, my amatriciana certainly had some spice which I like. There's likely better places on Lygon St but these guys are pretty good.
I had heard Rockpool had one of the best burgers in Melbourne and as I am currently on a burger quest I had to try it. I certainly wasn't disappointed it was fantastic! Featuring a 100% pure bred wagyu patty the beef was juicy and cooked perfectly and the bun complimented it well. It's expensive for a burger at $24 but worth it. This is certainly a place for special occasions or business lunches as it is very nice place to spoil yourself with an expensive steak.
