I had been wanting to try here for a while and had a chance with work just around the corner. I have dined at their sister restaurant before and it was very good, I wouldn't say this was as good but it was pretty good. I love a good crumbed steak so couldn't go past the chicken fried steak. It was a pretty good version although I think mine might beat it and I wasn't overly impressed with the gravy as I thought it was a bit bland. I really wanted to try their wings but was by myself so skipped them but will be back to try again. The onion rings and coleslaw on the side were good.

This is a great little bar and pizzeria in Burleigh Heads. I had noticed it for quite a while and finally get a chance to visit. It was a busy Monday night when we visited and after a short wait at the bar we had a table. We settled on the banquet which gives you the majority of their starters plus a pizza or a pasta to share between two. I was hesitant it would be enough but there was certainly an abundance of starters including tasting pork and fennel meatballs and they pork belly pizza was very tasty. Keen to go back and try a few more pizzas and some pasta
You've got to love a surf club that is right on the beach with live music. I have to mark the service down slightly, as even though it was busy I still think the meals took too long to come out when they were all fairly basic. My seafood basket wasn't groundbreaking and I wouldn't say it was awesome as the menu stated but the fresh prawns were great and the flathead very tasty but the rest was so-so. Definitely worth a stop for a lazy afternoon though.

I had heard about this place for years but finally decided to check it out as we were staying close in Runaway Bay. It is a great steakhouse and certainly caters to the family with a kids playroom inside the restaurant. They also very attentive and friendly with their service. Whilst they don't do out of this world steaks, they are good and tasty and reasonably price.

This place specialised in fresh sushi rather than ready made rolls. I'm not a massive sushi fan as I hate the seaweed but they had plenty of fresh offerings with just rice and either raw or seared seafood. It's all made to order also
This place does great old fashioned burgers and comfort meals. The burgers are massive and full of flavour and great value and when accompanied by chips with chicken salt and gravy you are in comfort food heaven. Great service also
These guys do a roaring trade at lunch for both there cooked and fresh seafood. They have one of the best ranges of fresh seafood I have seen with whole fish and specialised things such as live pipis and sea urchin. There cooked seafood is fresh with a nice crisp batter and their mixed grill is fantastic. It's a little bit expensive but worth it.
This is a pretty good pub located not too far away from everything. They have a number of weekly specials including a lunch roast special which is great value. The food is decent and beer is cold with good service. Only had a bar meal there but the actual restaurant looks good also
I had been wanting to check out Green Beacon for a while and made an excuse to go when King of the Wings was there. It's a cool little brewery with exposed bricks and wood paneling. They do some good beers as well, I tried the IPA and the Amber Ale and both were good. I didn't try their food as I had wings from King of the Wings
This place is a great bar if you like your beer and are keen to try different micro brews. For me it's more of an earlier night bar and does get a fair bit of a hipster west end type crowd but it still kicks on late. I haven't tried the food yet but it's meant to be pretty good. One of the better bars in west end
