SERENITY

My child enjoyed playing here, he stuck mainly to the toddler area (2 years old).
There was NO ONE else in the whole place when we went at about 4pm on a Wednesday, which can be seen as a positive or a negative :)
Great equipment, would have loved a go on the big slide, myself.
The staff didn't really speak to us once we paid and came in, they just pottered around at the desk, cleaning up etc, which was fine by me.
Did feel a bit quiet and lonely with no one else there though!
Didn't dare to buy any food, I can imagine it would be expensive.
Would go there again.

We pop down for coffee every now and then. Love to be able to sit outside, and on a Saturday it is nice and quiet there in Blackburn. Would never go there on a school day with the train traffic walking by.
One negative for me is the quality of the mince they use. Have had the baked potato with mince twice now, and the meat was poor quality, lots of gristle - I'd say it is just the cheapest 1 or 2 star mince. So, I don't order that any more. We now usually just have a cake and coffee, you can't go wrong with that.

Paying the high price to be 'funky'?

I had my first coffee here last week after eyeing the place off for some time as looking like the place to be.
I didn't realise it was table service, so went in and up to the register to order, the youngish lady looked puzzled and raised her eyebrows and said 'erm, it's table service here so just sit down and someone will come take your order'. I said 'um.. ok' and went and sat outside.
Some time went by...I watched the traffic... and a 30 something male waiter, tall slim guy, came by and asked if I had ordered yet. I said no. I ordered a standard latte, with sugars.
It came out, in it's little glass... not particularly hot, but... it was ok, it tasted nice. So, drank up and went in to be quite surprised that the little drink was just under $4. Reasonable in the inner city but a bit rich for Main St Croydon. They were quick to take my cash and say 'next can I help you' and I was basically forced out with a waiter right on my heels.
Not the best experience, and I really think most go there for the look - which does appeal to me, but I want service and value for my money. If the cakes were not $8+ a slice, I might have tried one.
Might have to just slum it at the Bakehouse next door from now on when in Croydon, at least they are polite and happy to have you as a customer.

Kellie is fantastic at front desk, very friendly and makes me feel comfortable leaving my son there. The other educators are also very friendly and don't mind me standing around and watching my son interact. Although he cried initially the first 2 or 3 times when I left, he now runs out to play with the other children and always has a smile on his face when I pick him up. I can tell it is doing wonders for his language and play skills.
I would highly recommend them.

I also wish we had gone elsewhere. What - a - nightmare.
Garage door was meant to be installed within 3 weeks, to cut a long story short, 4.5 months later it was finally up after many many many phone calls from me prompting them to continue with it. However one final piece NEVER got installed - the vertical side cover. It was just too much hassle for us to bother with continuing to try and chase this up.
The old man who came out with his grandchild in the car was chatty, charming and positive about quoting us for the install, and we committed to going with Gryphon after he came out to us. From then on it was no returned calls, installers forgetting parts or parts not having been packed as thought and needing to come back week after week for whatever reason. We needed this put up before selling our house, and actually had to put the sale of our house off, until we could get the garage door installed.
Don't know how Billy Brownless can put his name to this brand, don't know how they are still advertising on radio and don't know how they are still in business there in Bayswater. I just know I would hate to be the receptionist taking their calls.
Poor service, false advertising. They are cheaper than the rest for a reason. Avoid at all costs!
