Painful booking

Avoid them at any cost - I made a booking with them for Turkish airlines however, they didn't confirm it with the airline till the second day when I called them and spent about two hours on the phone.
Later on, I tried to change my ticket departure day and was sent a $278 payment link with PayPal as the ONLY option. I paid, but PayPal held and refunded the payment after a day. When I contacted WebJet, they said they don't have a visa or master card payment portal and it is not their problem and gave me a new payment link for the same flight with a price five times higher !!!

Never again

This company held my deposit before confirming flights. They then asked for an additional $1050.00 . I declined and cancelled. They then said it would take 3-5 days for them to release the funds being held by Amex. Outrageous.

SCAM ALERT

They took my money, then after the flights changed so as to become unworkable, they said a refund would take 12 weeks. After 12 weeks they stuffed me around with various excuses and said it would be another 12 weeks. It is a total scam. Stay right away

Hi annap383, Numerous fruitless calls and online chats, yesterday i started bombarding their instagram page, and tagging some of their employees, that I found via linked in and tagging the ACCC and Scamalert, sending them screenshots of all the other customer complaints. They have just in the last 5 mins emailed me to say they have processed my refund. I am certain their tactic is to withhold as much customer refunded money for as long as they can. Unfortunately getting ugly with them seems to be the only way to get them to act.

I wouldnt be believing it until you actually receive the funds (Ive been told my refund was approved only to be told later that its both rejected and still pending) but I hope they have in fact processed it. Ill try your method if the bank process doesnt succeed, thank you for sharing

Never ever book airline tickets using Webjet. It is not worth the stress. Their website is useful for comparing flights, but contact the airline direct to make booking. Using Webjet will only cost you more money and cause grief if any changes are required. I have spent hours on phone get passed around and lied to.

Hi Byronc648, I'm having a similar issue, Jestar have refunded me part of the cancelled flight and sent the rest $919.31 to Webjet to refund to me, but they just keep giving excuses and lies and promising but no refund. I think this is a tactic to wear down the customer and they keep hope we give up and they keep the funds. Trustpilot, Tripadvisor etc are full of complaints of the same vein. I have started posting on their instagram page alerting people of this. I'm hoping that other disgruntled customers will also start posting to ensure that they stop this practise. It's basically theft. go to @webjet and tell you story. I'm fighting because it's a substantial amount of money, but imagine how many people give up because it's only $100...they must be making a huge amount from this scheme. It's a scam. Please tag your story on insta and stop them.

Dear potential webjet customers- based on my current experience with Webjet, I would advise taking your business elsewhere. Have tried to use my creditcwith them for over one month. Live chat times out due to no response on theircend, emails go unanswered and phone agents make promises they don't follow up. Webjet has cost us being able to book cheap fares.

Been on the phone over 4 times in 4 months waiting on hold hours at a time trying to use approved flight credit. In the mean time price of flights went up to the point that paying the difference in fair is substantially more than paying full fare when request was submitted

I would not recommend this business. They booked us on the wrong flight, which we subsequently missed, and then did not answer our phone calls or chat requests as we desperately attempted to make a valid booking. Horrific experience in every single way. Avoid.

Use Webjet to find your flight then book directly with the airline. Should you need to change or cancel a flight their customer service is attrocious & expensive! I broke my own golden rule & booked with them for expediency. Never, ever again! To date I've waited a week for a response to my request to change a flight booking to the next day. I cant modify any other arrangement until I have confirmation that the change will go ahead & as time goes on the flight that I need to change to gets more expensive!

No I wouldn't recommend. They charge RIDICULOUS fees to use your vouchers or change a flight. Just book directly through the airline.

I will never use a third party to book flights or accommodation again. Any changes become expensive and there is no such thing as customer service. Webjet have no influence on airlines and get charged high fees and all they can do is pass on the exorbitant costs plus their own costs.
Totally unsatisfactory and expensive learning exercise.

13 days from flying out and have not received details as yet although they said I would have then 30 days before. Off shore call centre has no idea or sense of urgency. Wasted so much time and I will never book with them again.

Very disappointed. It seemed so convenient, then they let me down badly first they suck you in with a price (as they if it is to hard to believe it is) RIP OFF, BAD EXPERIENCE.Try to email try to ring try to get your deposit back to late THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY BUT THEY HAVE A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE Sorry that has been used in to set a date try to book with out a date and the booked date was 12 months away .

I bought a business class ticket through WEBJET. Be warned, you cannot make any changes by phone. They insist that you go through their web page and they take a minimum of 48 hours to respond.
They are not flexible in any way. They wanted to charge $1500 for changing the return portion of the flight. They refused to check other times and dates that may be cheaper. They refused to change the ticket to Economy so I wouldn't have to pay as much.
DO NOT USE WEBJET. They make it impossible or extremely expensive to make any changes.

they are not trust worthy at all. They will first promise for one thing and then change just to charge you hundreds of dollars more. i have a recent very very bad experience with them.
I was told that Air Canada has accept to correct the name spelling on my ticket for a payment of CAD.50 and it will take 72hrs to process and after 72 hrs they told me that Air canada is not accepting when I told i spoke to Air canada they have no objection then they said we have issue with other airlines involved which was not ture bcz i had already spoken to other airlines too. just to take around CAD.500 more from me they say that you need to cancel and rebook same ticket.
I have lost trust on them bcz they are not true to their word.
Such kind of cheap tactics to cheat the customer is not going to give them any success.

Booked domestic tickets online and charged hidden additional fees. Tried to cancel and now being charged extra fees. Its cheaper to book with others or direct with the airline and you get better customer service and with LESS fees. I accept the credit for the cancelled tickets to use later and additional taxes and fares when re-booking but when the re-issuing fee costs more than the price of a full ticket. What a joke Webjet!!!

I booked a flight to Lebanon and received confirmation of the booking immediately. The next day I called an agent and asked why I hadn't received the actual e-ticket yet. He confirmed that I will receive it by the end of the day. The next day I receive an email saying the price went up $123 dollars and that I have the option to cancel! I contacted customer service by email and they did not reply to me.

This has never happened with other companies I use for online booking. Once a price is confirmed they should honor it. -- I will never use webjet again!

I booked some flights and got a confirmation for the booking with the amount I paid. The next day I received an email that said my credit card was declined. I called WebJet to ask them what happened. They said they will run my card again. He checked the fare and said it was the same as the night before. I thought it was okay now. Then 30 mins later I get another email saying the fare went up and I need to pay the higher fare. I called my credit card company and they told me the card was NEVER run the night before. I complained to WebJet and asked why they never ran my card when I booked. They claim they did, but my credit card company (a neutral 3rd party in this) tells me they did not, so I trust the credit card company. I also asked why they told me the fare did not change, when clearly it did. They blamed the airline. I needed the tickets immediately so I paid the higher fare. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told he would call me back. He never called me back. I feel I was lied to, and the customer service was terrible as well. Poor experience. I would not recommend.

Not even one star. Cancelled a trip. The entire process was a nightmare. I understood the conditions of the ticket but made it an extremely painful process to try and use the credit note what was a $1000 credit note turned into only $250 worth of credit. Call centre is noisy and kept having to repeat myself, put on hold numerous times for extended periods, things that should have been simple were made complicated. The company is incompetent

Use the website but do not book or pay any money. Book and pay with the airline or hotel directly to avoid stuff-ups with any changes that may crop up. Webjet has made an art of stuffing people around with incorrect reference numbers and misleading advertising. I lost AUD $1,000 because their website advertised total price without disclosing the additional costs that are charged (around $170 a day)... wow was that a shocker! On top of that they issued me an incorrect hotel reference number so that took days to resolve. Once bitten twice shy ... will NEVER deal with them again and have warned my circle of friends to avoid WEBJET (horribilus). Please be very careful when dealing with this company. Expect horrible service if you need to change anything!

All is fine until you need to change something. A simple problem of a missed outbound flight (accident on the road on the way to the airport) resulted in few days of discussion, emails, and almost $2000 of fees/rebooking. I have been flying internationally at least 2x/year for 20 years, and have never seen anything like this. Even worse- at the time of original booking the Webjet's price was at about the same level as other respectable travel agencies (Expedia etc), maybe $20-30 cheaper.
Not only they do not give you any time to change/cancel after booking (usually it is about 24h), but their 'rules' are so limited and strict, that there is no flexibility for changing one leg of a round trip. Things happen, people miss their flight all the time for various reasons.
Now, I am NOT asking for a free ticket rebooking, but even being willing to pay money, their limitations were such, that as I mentioned, I was asked to spend another close to $2000 to fix a mistake.

Very disappointed. It seemed so convenient, then let me down badly in 3 ways: (1) after selecting 2 different flights, 1 car hire and an insurance option, the 'Processing Payment' never finished (even though there was still enough time left on 'Price Held' timer), so eventually I had to start all over again, then the second time (2) I had selected and (I thought) paid for the car hire component, but alas no, it had not been included (3) Webjet charged $35 in fees (i.e. 12%) on top of the $296 flight costs (which also included $15 of respective payment fees)!! RIP OFF, BAD EXPERIENCE. Probably recommend booking directly with airlines and car hire places.

Never ever book with webjet!!!! They booked half my flights and said my card declined for the other. I phoned then they said it's ok it is pending don't worry. Then later that day they send an email saying flight has been cancelled due to decline. I had ample money on the card and they told me I don't. I know that I do sent an email they sent me a screen shot of someone else's full creditcard details even the security number. I rang they said book again nothing they can do. I will never ever use that company again everything from start to the end was a mess and they either blame airline or me. It was neither it was their lack of attention to details as they freely send other people's credit card details to 3rd parties.

DO NOT BOOK WITH WEBJET

Anyone who gives these guys a good review I suspect have never had to do anything more than just place the online booking

If there are any issues trying to resolve them is A NIGHTMARE.

I booked a return flight Melbourne to Perth as I needed to go over to Perth due to my mum going in for major cardio surgery. The tickets were business class one way and a flexi saver ticket the other way. I booked these tickets because I was aware that my mums surgery could potentially get postponed so I needed the flights to be flexible. The business class flight was booked because at the time I was booking the tickets for (just after the Dockers played in the grand final of 2013) I couldn't get an economy flight from Melbourne to Perth.

The surgery did get postponed so I contacted webjet so as to reschedule the flexisaver and cancel the business class. I wanted to cancel the business class and get a refund so I could then book a cheaper ticket, the rescheduling meant an economy ticket would be available.

When I contacted Webjet I was told that they could reschedule to flexisaver and they could reschedule the business class but they couldn't give me a refund on the business class. I questioned this as the terms of the business class ticket stated it was fully refundable. They told me that because the two tickets were booked as a single booking then they apply the most restrictive terms to both tickets. This means that because the Flexisaver isn't refundable they therefore wouldn't refund my business class ticket.

After about an hour and a half on the phone to them the best I managed was to get them to allow me to reschedule both flights then, once I had taken the Perth to Melbourne flight (the flexisaver) the flight from Melbourne to Perth (the business class flight) would revert back to the business class terms and I could get a refund. however, this meant that in the mean time I had to come up with extra money to cover my Melbourne to Perth flight because I had not yet got a refund for the approx. $2000 I'd paid for the business class ticket.

The surgery finally went ahead on 08/01/14 so I've had to carry the cost of the business class ticket for several months. I am finally back in Melbourne and was FINALLY able to apply for a refund on my business class ticket.

I received an email reply from them today (everything has to done online as they charge you $50 if you want to do anything over the phone) confirming the cancelation of the ticket and the refund. The email stated I will receive the refund in 6 TO 8 WEEKS, that is ridiculous. When I rang them they pointed the finger at Qantas but I explained to them that I have cancelled business class tickets before which I had booked directly with Qantas and received a refund over night. The only explanation I could get is "That's WebJet Procedure".

To rub salt into the wound, the woman on the other end of the phone was simply rude, constantly interrupting me when I was talking.

2 two weeks I booked our flights through webjet. Like I have done many times before. Our flights to Sydney were cancelled by Tiger 3 hours before we where due to fly. Since then I have been fighting to get our money back. Between webjet and Tiger they just keep pointing the figure at the other. They are quick enough to take money from your credit card but then you have to wait weeks to get it back. To say that I am very disappointed would be an understatement. And you cannot pick up the phone to webjet it all has to be done over the net.

A few weeks ago I claimed some fly buys points to book a hotel through webjet, the process was really easy, their email of what they were offering was really easy to go understand and it had step by step process, which was great for me.

But then I run into password issues which I had to call through to their customer service dept, despite having to wait a while and being that I got a slightly non English person the service was really helpful and polite.

I even was confused about a fly buys question to which she helped me.

Overall a great web jet experience for me. Will use again

Webjet is a great site. I was having trouble trying to book my flights to go home as it was a last min decision, I managed to call they and get them to help me with all the final details so I couldn't understand all the website stuff. They were so helpful and I had a great flight.

this website is pretty straight forward. it tells you all the comparison prices fro all the flight available. just enter the details of the flight then it should do the job. great site.

This site is great for comparison but I still find the need to look around or book directly. It can quote good bargains but at times I have found it cheaper to book directly.
