Brilliant indian. I've never eaten in the restaurant but get take away regularly for about 2 years. It takes 20mins to drive there from where I am but well worth it, and they are always busy.
This place proves its quality by the length of time it has been here one of mine and my mother's favourite places to eat Indian food when in Melbourne. Amazing curries and my favourite their cheese and garlic nann bread, and another favourite was their amazing garlic and chilli prawns which is great if wanting something different to a curry. They have a extensive menu so have something to suit everyone, as well as vegetarian meals. Can also get take away, and prices are pretty good for the quality and amount you get on your plate. Around about $18 a main meal and $5 for their yummy bread
Definitely one of my favorite restaurants, the quality of all meals here are just amazing, and consistently stay so, also the service is spot on
Approximate cost: $15
The service is quite good and the food is delicious. What's even better is that there's a glass window into the kitchen so you can actually see your meal be prepared. It's a wonderful experience
I must admit, my visit to Taj Agra was out of curiosity. I instantly felt comfortable in the ambiance and decor of the room, and was pleased with the polite and prompt attention from the staff. I enjoyed the refreshing mint and yogurt dip with papadams that were on the table when we arrived, and the kashmiri naan was delicious. As I can't tolerate very spicy foods, I was a little nervous as to what I'd find here, but I was delighted with the many choices available. There is plenty on offer to suit even the most conventional palate. I asked if the waiter's response ("not very hot") to a question, was from his point of view, or could it possibly be from my unadventurous point of view. The truth of his answer was evident when the rogan josh was prepared perfectly for me. Dessert (chargrilled apple) was nice but disappointing as it was not as interesting as the menu description led me to believe. It also looked like a child's dessert with hundreds and thousands sprinkled over it.
My overall experience was wonderful, and I certainly look forward to my next visit. I would try many more dishes from the extensive menu. Prices were very reasonable - two of us ate for under $70 including wine, and the whole experience was fabulous. Looking forward very much to my next visit.

The Indian food at Taj Agra is to die for. We had the banquet and everything was just superb. The service was sometimes a little slow initially but the longer the night the more happy I became. I thought it was good value but prices are on the high side for Indian cuisine. You really don't mind a few extra dollars when the food is this good
Approximate cost: $28.50
This is by far my favourite Indian restaurant. It might even be my all time most loved place to go.
Don't be fooled by the exterior! This place is the most authentic Indian you can get. The banquets are unbelievable and I dare anyone to get through it all!
Every dish is amazing and the variety is mindblowing. You need atleast half an hour to choose. Get a banquet!
The prices are even more amazing. You can get the most filling and generous meal for next to nothing.
The staff are pleasant and highly efficient and the whole place has a really authentic Indian atmosphere. You can even see into the kitchen, which is always a bonus.
Go here! It's fantastic.
Approximate cost: $10+
I'm a regular customer here, changing about with the other Indian restaurant up the road, both are equally fantastic! The food here is great value and tastes wonderful.
So far, the best Indian we have had in the whole Ringwood area. Food quality is great and never displeases, especially the Mali Kofta.
The food is very good, service used to be excellent but has declined since the owner opened another one and moved there to manage it. The staff has declined in service because he is no longer there
Approximate cost: $12
the food was yummy and the place was pretty clean, it was a bit dark. it would be nice if there was a little more lighting, but thats okay. they were busy, but the staff were quick and helpful
Good for take away (phone ahead and collect). The Butter Chicken curry is yummy and mild enough for kids to enjoy too. We keep going back for more in preference to other Indian restaurants in the local area.
We chose Taj Agra as the location for a Christmas get-together. The quality of the food was excellent. I really enjoyed the experience, especially being my first time in an authentic Indian restaurant. Some of the staff seemed a little unmotivated, but otherwise a great dining experience for our group of 10 or so scrapbookers!
Approximate cost: $14.00
This restaurant has the best Indian cuisine I have found after trying several different Indian restaurants. There is quite a reasonable variety in the dishes available including some great dishes for vegetarians.
A fantastic local Indian restaurant. The food is perhaps the best Indian that I have eaten. There is a wide variety of dishes available, including a wide variety of vegetarian dishes. There is also a wide variety of entrees available as well. The service is ok - the staff can seem a little grim and stand offish at first, but they tend to warm up after a few visits. The food more than makes up for the service!!
Approximate cost: $12
The food was great but the service was terrible. We waited too long for our order to be taken and had to ask FOUR times for water to be brought to the table. The next day, our clothes smelled really bad and had to be washed.
The food is excellent and a variety in the menu - not like most other Indian restaurants that offer the basics. The service can be a bit slow and quiet - you often have to call them over, but otherwise great.
Approximate cost: $15
A group of 4 of us dined for the first time at Taj Agra on a Saturday night. The restaurant filled up quickly and we took that as a good sign. Although our food was fine (not WOW, but fine) and we did receive what we had ordered, the service overall was really disappointing. There seemed to be adequate numbers of staff, but many were unsure (eg. when asked if there was chai masala tea available as only tea/coffee was listed on the drinks menu) or simply inept (eg. we had to ask for water for our table 5 times). Simple things were forgotten (eg. no complimentary papadums arrived at our table until we queried why we had the sauces that go with them after entree).
The food was OK, but there are better Indian dining options around the area - we won't be going back.
