6 years ago I had a 30 pages report done by a building surveyor of all the faults in a 15 square home they eventually fixed everything but it took over 12 months to finish would never recommend then back then they shouldn't of lasted this long in the business
We've been waiting for over 9 months for our home to built
And now we've just heard the news tha t they maybe going through the process of insolvency :(
After all the excuses they gave
We had a gut feeling that something wasn't right.
Praying that our initial deposit will be refundable
So that we can move on with our lives and find a more reputable builder.
I am really sorry that you have ha such an horrific experience. Ive worked in the building industry for over 15 years, in the past have worked in the Tullamarine area, so know the area and the councils there quite well. Now on the working on the other side of town, but still have contacts in the area. If I can offer you any assistance in negotiating you way through the minefield you find yourself in, Id be only too happy to help. Chasing for my liquidation damages from last few months but no response!
Stay away from Masterplan Property Group
My partner and I run a trade company and have done recent work for Snowdon - who are yet to pay!!!
I have also heard they are going into liquidation. 50% of their staff have quit after not being paid correctly and they are waiting for jobs to be completed (to a low standard might I add) so that they can pay debts owed from months ago. Everytime I ring their office its a new person who answers the phone and I have to start the money chasing process again. We are owed nearly $30K and are wayyyyyy down the list apparently. Even the owner of the company Chris wont answer calls, respond to texts or emails. As a small business we have had to dip into the small amount of savings that we have in order to pay our workers this week due to the debt Snowdon have left us. They are irresponsible and negligent. Terrible business.

We are building with Snowdon.
Property was meant to be finished by 21st September 2021. It's now 24st March 2022.
No transparency. Builder won't even talk to me directly due to arrangement they have with developers. Which seems illegal given the contract is between Snowdon and me.
Reason I've been given for delays is due to plumbing fit-offs and cauking but highly suspicious for this to take 6 months. Even with COVID issues. I suspect it's more monetary related / not paying workers.
Dropped me with an extremely long 35 day extension letter over Christmas which I've also found out via research is total rubbish as well. Especially since other builders were still progressing.
For others that are experiencing issues with Snowdon I suggest raising a case with https://www.dbdrv.vic.gov.au/ as early as possible as you're no doubt going to have ongoing issues for years to come. Also raise one with VBA: https://www.vba.vic.gov.au/.
There is clearly something underlying with their practices that needs to be resolved.

If I could have given 0 starts to Snowdon, I would.
My journey started with Snowdon (Hamilton Group) in March 2020 where I signed up of a House + Land Package. Before signing this off, Snowdon was very hospitable and quick in responding. Once signed, the delays/issues/problems started coming it.
Activities in the building project:
- The building process started in Jan 2021 for a 14Sq home
- In first stage (Slab Stage) of construction There was a 30 day delay initially to complete the slab due to sourcing issues of the waffle pods
- In Second stage (Frame Stage) of construction there was a 3 month delay in sourcing Timber (Due to Covid) while all surrounding houses kept progressing in the build
- The third stage (Fixing Stage) was again delayed by 2 weeks as Snowdon was waiting for the contractor which does plastering works
- The Fourth Stage is now delayed due to issues with sourcing plumbing fit offs, issues with the contractor who lays drive way and resignation of my site supervisor. The Project manager had committed to deliver the house by end of January and today when I followed up, this indication has shifted to end of February.
Therefore,
1) Do not engage Snowdon for your build as they are very unprofessional
2) Their customer support team is crappy and has no influence on the project activities
3) They will promise you and not deliver
4) Please save your money and time and look for another builder.

Stay away from this builder. They work with Pivot Construction Group and take almost 2 years to build a double-storey house. If you have already started your build with this company, you should read every ‘Request for Extension’ letter from them carefully, because there are clauses in your building contract saying that you can object their request. If you don’t object, they will extend your contract days automatically to avoid liquidated damages. They also extend 35 contract days for every Christmas break. If your house is not settled on time, remember to proofread your liquidated damages. They tried to take half of the liquidated damages from us without providing proper reasons. We are going to contact Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria to get a fair judgement and complain to VBA. In addition, we found cracks and holes on the ceiling and two holes on the screen door at our second final inspection, poor workmanship. We have all the evidence including email correspondences.

When we signed the agreement with Snowdon almost 2 years ago, I could never have imagined that we would still be waiting for them to complete the job.
It has been a painful experience of delays, excuses and poor quality.
In my worst nightmares, I couldn't have envisioned a worst experience. [redacted generalisation]
Do yourself a favour, avoid Snowdon at all cost. Nothing they said upfront has any baring on what was delivered.
