Silkies Rose Farm

ordered the wrong kind of rose. Asked to cancel order and then planned to reorder correct kind. Was asked to transfer funds into an account to cover the cost difference and declined (sounds like a scam - how do I know this is right account etc - initial payment made by credit card) then was charged 5% to cancel and told money could not be refunded without my bank account details.
When I called to unravel this weird situation I received a serious lecture about how much time had been spent on a $42 rose. Then was quizzed about whether I knew the location of business, the weather report there and what the owner was going through (no, no and no, just trying to fix up my order!)
I was asked not to contact again which I am very happy to comply with. Still not quite sure what I've done wrong apart from call "out of hours" (at 3:30pm on Monday) but there you have it.
Obviously a difficult time and stressful situation for this business so best avoid this one!

Notified them I wanted to change my order within minutes of placing order and they still posted the wrong rose. Was told they don't check the computer. Owner was not interested in helping me resolve. Wasted money and time. Don't buy from Silkies Rose Farm

I wouldn’t recommend this company. I ordered three roses last winter but only get one I wanted. The three roses are: Earth Angel, Fruity Perfuma, and Brother Cadfael. So you can see I like deep cupped pink roses.In September I received an group email saying some roses will be substituted by the owner of business without individual notification. I immediately contacted the owner not to substitute my roses, just refund me if not available. Diana confirmed my order wouldn’t be affected. But guess what, the Brother Cadfael was replaced with Winchester Cathedral - a small shallow cupped white rose. I thought, oh well, I still have Earth Angel and Fruity Perfuma, but after the “Earth Angel” flowered, I realized this was not an Earth Angel even though it has a nice tag on it. It is a white rose which opens flat quickly with a touch of yellow in the center and no fragrance. So in the end, I spent about $100 only to get one rose in my list - the Fruity Perfuma. I do love the Fruity Perfuma, but it IS an EXPENSIVE one.

I’ve been looking for some climbing roses locally without luck because it’s the wrong time of year but I was able to find the variety at Silkies. They arrived eight days after I placed the order (so prompt!) and in great condition with buds ready to flower. Highly recommend!

Just received a rose covered in fungus. I called the company. They said the rose came from another grower and offered no refund. They did say sorry.

I was absolutely delighted with the Heaven Scent rose I purchased from Silkies Rose Farm just over 12 months ago. We decided to create a stunning rose garden in memory of my parents, both sadly passed now. We received another 9 roses from Silkies just a few weeks ago, within a week of being planted, they sprouted leaves. We are so excited that the vision in our mind is already taking shape. Later this year, the garden will be an absolute splash of color and perfume. The advice and helpful lady there, Diana has been amazing with practical advice and shipping the plants so quickly. I had explained to Diana how my mothers favorite rose is Mr Lincoln, a stunning red with incredible perfume. It was a rose my father had bought for my mother, and she cherished it. Diana even sent me a Mr Lincoln rose in my order absolutely free. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Silkies Rose Farm for helpful friendly advice and of course incredible roses.

For the first time, I ordered 2 roses from this business.

One of the roses arrived in a good condition however, it was clear the second rose was of vastly inferior quality. The root system was extremely sparce and not consistent with a healthy plant.

I immediately contacted the owner of the company Diana however after much communication it is very clear that the owner of the business has no intention of accepting she has sent an inferior plant or assisting in any way. I say this as I have a comparison...namely the second rose sent from the same business with a healthy root system and is currently planted and has some growth unlike the bare stems of the Candle.

I had a local rose enthusiast (who grows and propagates) look at the rose prior to planting. She confirmed my concerns of the Candle especially in comparison to the second rose sent at the same time.

I had absolutely NO indication from Diana that she has accepted any points I have made during this very unfortunate experience.

There is no customer service. Nothing but deflection.

The cost of these roses (in addition to postage) is not insignificant and one would at least expect some customer care and concern....not deflection and lack of responsibilty especially in these difficult financial times for both consumers and business owners.

Wow.. Super helpful and so fast to send my order. Have ordered from others and have had to wait quite a while. I'm recommending Silkies to everyone who wants quality roses and expert advice. Will be ordering again next year.. shh don't tell my husband though!

You get more than great plants when you deal with Silkies Rose Farm. You become part of the family. Full of terrific information and Graeme and Diana are always will to provide valuable advice.

The roses supplied by Silkies Rose Farm are the best you can buy. If sent by mail, they arrive securely packaged and in beautiful condition. Once planted, they grow into healthy plants with beautiful blooms. And if you have any questions, Diana and Gra are only too happy to share their immense knowledge. Treat yourself to one of their pruning sessions; they take the stress out of this annual task and your roses will love you!

The personal service is exemplary and the roses arrive well wrapped and ready to plant with plenty of buds. It appears that any rose can be sought if not stocked. And I enjoy dealing with Diana either by email or on the phone.

Today I ordered a rose to send to a friend whose mother just died. Diana was very helpful and took the time to let me know she would send a beautiful rose to my friend. Then she went to the extra trouble to make sure it went express so it would be received tomorrow. Service above and beyond. Will be purchasing from Silkies Rose Farm again.

I've used this business on a few occasions now & each time have been highly impressed by their prompt service as well as the quality of the beautiful roses they provide. Customer service is excellent & replies are super fast. It is lovely to be able to send a beautiful gift to someone that will continue to flower for years to come as opposed to a bouquet of flowers that will die after just a few days. The Silkies Rose Farm business website has excellent information on each of the rose products available, enabling an informed choice, and once ordered, the response from the owners, Graham and Diana, is both prompt and personalised. The rose plants supplied are just so big, sturdy and beautiful. They are professionally packaged to ensure they arrive in tip-top condition. I grew the best roses I have ever grown last year as a result of following the advice of Graham through his monthly 'Rose Rambler' communication which outlines rose care throughout the year. The last climbing rose I received during winter 2016 (Papa Meilland) was huge and is now in a few short weeks since planting covered in masses of deep red leaves and is already showing growth. As a result, I have ordered another rose today. The roses, the service and the attention to detail are second to none! Absolutely recommend this business ahead of all others. Brilliant!

I was so thrilled to receive such healthy mature bare root roses that I quickly found room in the garden for some more! Diana was very helpful with advice on rose varieties that would suit my Queensland garden, and I am following her organic regime and so far my roses are all healthy and happy (including 2 old roses that had been sulking). My last order included some Gra's Blue miniature roses, they arrived very promptly in perfect condition complete with little flower buds! Thank you for renewing my interest in roses.

Just finished another trip to Silkies Rose Farm, as always Diana and Graham were great, they're extremely friendly, knowledgeable and down to earth practical people. Really impressed that Diana wouldn't sell us a rose that would not grow and flower well in our area, shows a level of integrity not often found in retailers. Can't speak highly enough of the actual roses either, the quality is first rate and they never look back, we have planted 10 roses from Silkies all doing really well. Although I had to cancel my order, Rose Sales Online has been extremely helpful. It was easy to order via the web and their communication was excellent. I will definitely order from them again.
