Went here yesterday for lunch with a friend. I had the Salad with spinach, tomato, balsamic and buffalo mozzarella and the Italian Meatballs. Both were delicious. Service was very attentive.

'Chain restaurant' tends to bring to mind images of boring symmetry across the chain, lack of diversity and monotonous. Not so at Rococo. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised by the vibrancy of the place. No clone effect. The menu was thoughtful, and offered dishes such as chicken tortellini brodo, seafood spaghetti which featured seemed to be 80% seafood 20% spaghetti - no complaints there as the seafood was great produce too, and perfectly cooked quail with a nutty, earthy mushroom risotto.
Great service & surrounds, Rococo would definitely be on my list of 'chain' restaurants.

I recently went to Rococo in Hawthorn with friends for dinner. The place was crowded and we had to wait quite a while for a table. The service was quite poor as the staff were constantly rushing around to serve the other customers. That is understandable but we had to wait quite a while to have our orders taken down. Secondly, the food took a long time to arrive at our tables. Although the quality of the food was good, the price was still a bit higher than average. The atmosphere was very nice and the restaurant looked very "high-class". I would have to say that Rococo is one of the most popular restaurants in Hawthorn. I think I will dine there again when the restaurant is not as busy as Friday evening! :)

My favorite local restaurant and always fall for the steak with the chunky potatoes to die for however there's also the HUGE pasta options as well. You can never complain that you don't get your moneys worth at Rococo! Service is attentive but word to the wise - if you can tolerate it then sit outside. Inside can be pretty noisy when the place is full which is frequently. Overall pretty good - been four times and still to see if there's a dessert menu - seem to be forgotten there. Good for all the family and worth forgiving for that one drawback.

Chargrill calamari - I have been here several times - this place can be noisy when it's full. It is very popular, I was there most recently on a Thursday evening for dinner. The food is good and pretty good value for Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn. Even though it can be busy, you can still conduct a conversation comfortably with your dinner companion(s). Try the char-grilled calamari salad, very good. Salads and bread are fresh, coffee is good. Parking can be a challenge.

The thin based pizza here is pretty good, though for the price I expected much more. This cafe is decorated beautifully though the positives for me end there, the staff, I felt where a little rude and very, very slow in taking our order, our food took a while to come out too even though it wasn't that busy.

This is such a lovely place in Hawthorn to go for dinner. The design is beautiful, with elegant wooded tables set up. I ate the garlic bread and a pizza, and I was very impressed. It all tasted delicious, and was a little bit gourmet. The mocktail I tried was also yummy. Will definitely go back when I'm in the area again! Service was very good.

This place has some great Italian food, and something we tried recently was some of the tapas style dishes - small serves of "finger style" food to share including meat balls, fish/chicken pieces and vegetables. The meat balls are great - order them and you will understand!!

Service is friendly and the waitress checks in to make sure that everything is okay during the dining experience.

Our order did take some time despite it not being busy that day. Not sure what happened in the kitchen!

Pricing represents reasonable value for money with most dishes around the $20 mark and tapas style items around $6 to $9.

Visited (Thursday) to book a table for 4 for dinner that night. Requested a window table furthest from loud speakers. Upon arrival (on time), we were shown to a table elsewhere. We reminded the girl of the table we booked, and she showed clear irritation. Upon being seated for the second time, we placed drink orders and within 10 minutes ordered food. The drink arrived, and with reminding, so did bread and water. After a further hour or so, we called the waiter to check the status of our food order. He said the order had been lost. Finally our food arrived 95 minutes after our arrival. As the wine had by then been consumed (cheapest bottle, $44), we asked for complimentary wine ads a consideration. We were told they "didn't do complimentary". We requested the manager be asked. Same answer. Then we were quoted for further bread with our late food delivery. We left with no apology from management or till operator.

Rococo is a great venue for breakfast especially those that are local to glenferrie rd. Lots of seating and accommodating to families. Parking in the area can be difficult but the food is worth it!

This is the place to go for pasta and pizza. They only had one type of steak, although delicious, dont get much choice. But their pasta and pizza is to die for. They have both cold and warm anti pasto which i absolutely love. hmmm....yum

A beautiful restaurant up the far end of Glenferrie road, Rococo is let down by its poor service and high prices. The quality of the food is better than most but is not good enough to warrant the price tags. The service is particularly disappointing, it is hard to get the staff's attention and the food takes a long time to come out. The noise is a problem even when the restaurant is only about half full, but the atmosphere is nice and friendly and when you do get the staff's attention they are friendly and helpful in most respects.

Located on the sunny side of Acland Street in Melbourne's colourful bay side suburb of St Kilda, Rococo is more than just a restaurant. Along with extended trading hours Rococo offers both indoor and sidewalk dining from a comprehensive menu of authentic Italian dishes that provides diners with exceptional value for money. Whether you are after a great breakfast, superb coffee or just a casual, uncomplicated dining experience that is bound to exceed your expectations, Rococo will serve you well. My friends and i have been eating at Rococo for years now, the food is always great, the prices are good, however the service has gone downhill and after my last experience there! Great food & fantastic atmosphere! Love going there all the time.

We had two families totalling 8 people for Sunday brunch. The menu is pretty good and easily handled the diverse needs of 8 people. We ordered a wide range of meals including salmon eggs, scrambled eggs, muesli, pancakes and fresh fruit with banana bread. The food was okay and they did try with the presentation. The pancakes had a novel presentation. The portions were pretty good, probably a little better than average. Coffee was average on Melbourne standards. The short macchiato was awful. The staff responded well to any issue but they were not attentive and there was a lack of any warmth or care. They never noticed water was low, didn't ask how the meal was and didn't ask if there was anything else we needed. The manager didn't seem to encourage staff but tended to run around like the proverbial chook. Rococo has a cafeteria feel to it and, like the staff, lacked warmth. Noise is a real issue here. Even though Rococo's was half full it was very loud and we could only hear the person next to us. There are many places better to go to in Melbourne than Rococo. We will not be returning.
