Good place to chill out with friends or family. for coffee and other hot drinks specially during winter seasons.
I have been to this max brenner many times and its always because the staff are always so nice and come and chat and just always make me feel valued. Plus there got chocolate always tastes like its a pure melter bar in a cup it's just perfect.
Approximate cost: $14
I used to visit often here as I am a Huge chocolate lover, however over the past 6-12 months I occasionally visit. I love the food (although slightly over priced) however I find the service and seating arrangements disappointing. It can get beyond busy here, with lines out the door just to order. Its the busy days that are frustrating, you can wait up to 20-30 minutes to order, then be given a number for your order but then there is no table to sit on? On several occasions we have been and our food has been ready before there is a table to be seated at! I only visit now on the odd occasion I can go during a working day.
Approximate cost: $20
Love this place for a hot chocolate , waffles and a good chat! Very busy place so sometimes need to wait for a table but is worth the wait!
Good place to catch up with friends although can sometimes get rather noisy
I love coming when I'm catching up with some friends or need a quick chocolate fix! The food is absolutely amazing. Great service, fantastic atmosphere, quality food! Love it!! Highly recommended.
I like most women love chocolate and desserts and a restaurant that specialises in just that is fantastic, my favorite is the double waffle and oink granita drink, very refreshing, the staff are slow and disinterested, there's a long wait most nights and the prices are a bit excessive, its a treat every now and then but not a weekly thing
Approximate cost: $30
I went in there asking for eat in , they said that was fine.
Served me, Made me food then i had to wait 30 mins for a table. Was not impressed but the food is amazing and they have the best dweets.
Approximate cost: $20
As a self-confessed chocoholic, I was over the moon when Max Brenner opened its doors at Westpoint as I live around the area. My absolute favourite item from their menu is the Banana Split Waffle Sundae - HEAVEN! I also like the Suckao, Italian Thick Chocolate and the Mexican Spicy Chocolate - YUM!
However, I don't go here as often as I would like nowadays for a couple of reasons: (1) Menu can be a little steep on the pocket, but for a once in a while treat, I guess its ok; and (2) This is probably the main reason why I don't go as often anymore - the lack of customer service and the overall environment of the Blacktown store's site. I feel that the staff are not very attentive and are more interested in carrying on their own personal conversations with either other staff or their friends loitering at the store. If the store were to go through some changes, in particular, change in staff's attitude and improve customer service, I would consider making regular trips here again.
I visited Max Brenner Blacktown yesterday and I can honestly say there are good and bad points.
Bad: I waited at the counter for 5 minutes for someone to serve me. I had to ask a waiter walking past who would take my order, and it turned out that the disinterested looking guy on the register who wasn't really doing anything was supposed to take it. I guess just standing next to him and looking at him and the menu behind him and…. waiting wasn't enough, I had to walk right up and ask "would you like to take my order". Otherwise it seemed like I would have been there all day.
Good: The food and the drinks were very nice - fresh, tasty and served promptly with a smile.
I would try it again but with reservations. If I was this guy's boss, I would counsel him to try and least show some interest in the customers. While eating there, I watched a customer walk in/out/in/out looking at the various items for sale in the display area. Not one staff person asked if she required assistance (and it wasn't even busy). It's a shame that a place like this is likely to lose customers through an apparent lack of interest….
Review retracted by WOMO ?
Please advise why as this is an honest review, and if the store has video footage (this occured around 5.30pm) or would like to speak with the male concerned, they are welcome to. You should not have to ask to be served, particularly when there is no one else waiting.
After a visit to this store I left disappointed after all the 'hype'
How do these places get great reviews when the service is so vital yet so dull.
The food and drink were gorgeous and would definately return however atmosphere was pretty drab, cost is overpriced and staff just dont want to be there.... so overall a disappointing trip
I confess, I am not a chocoholic. I understand that this might be some cause for concern... nonetheless, I am not immune to the charms of Max Brenner.
Their menu is a little steeply priced for my likes, considering their portions are not spectacularly large, and the flavours can become rather tiresome and repetitive. If I attend Max Brenner, I usually do so for their Belgian Waffles with chocolate sauce. Simple and homely, they are a delight to otherwise ordinary days, a dependable feel-good option. The chocolate sauce does not smother the waffle, but is enough to cover every bite taken.
Their Italian Hot Chocolate is also a great option. However, I would caution drinkers to allow for an ample amount of time for the drink to cool, as it burnt my tongue the first time. It is incredibly rich, however, and is virtually impossible to finish -- so upgrading to a large might not be necessary if you can only have your chocolate in measured doses.
As this is predominantly a chocolate cafe, I would caution cafe-goers to stay away from their coffee choices. Their flat white is horrendous, I'm sorry to say, and does not particularly resemble coffee. If you are perusing their menu, they have much better options.
Service depends on the day and time that you attend. If it's nighttime, be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes in the line - it can get tiresome and one occasion I even left the line. However, during lunch time their turnover rates aren't overwhelming and the wait periods aren't drastic. Staff have always been friendly and polite, so there's no issue with that.
I've decided that whether you consider the prices reasonable depends on how you value and rejoice in chocolate. As I have an ambivalent relationship with chocolate based products, I consider their prices to be a bit high. While their desserts are yummy, they are not necessarily mind-blowing. Still, it's a dependable place and not one that gets old too quick.
Approximate cost: $8
If you love chocolate this is the place to go, it's always busy so expect to have to wait for a table. The chocolate drinks are very rich and the dishes are decadent. It is pricey but so worth the price.
Agreed!
great place and location; always and i mean always busy which is problem as have to always wait for seat as not big enough for huge crowd always there especailly on weekends but chocolate is great however you have it :)
To be honest I'm not a chocolate lover so I find this place hard to understand. I've tried a variety of different items on the menu and I'm yet to discover one I actually like. I usually can't finish the drinks as the size his large but then so is the price. Great for chocolate lovers not so for coffee drinkers.
Approximate cost: $6
The prices have increased, very disappointed. The serivice is very slow, considering the popularity they might want to hire more staff. the deserts however are very delicious as are their beverages.
Approximate cost: $20
I absolutley love this place. As a chocoholic, I find this place heaven. Prices are on the dearer side but happy to pay them as we only frequent here on special occassions. Would love to see more of thess places open!
Chocolate lovers will absolutely love the food here - though individual menus can get quite expensive. I recommend the waffles in particular. The ambiance is nice though it gets very busy at times.
Approximate cost: $15-20
Service and Food quality is great! Me and my gf went there for afternoon dessert. It is a very popular place to hang out, which is why it is usually packed with people at peak times. Their specialties are chocolate desserts, but you can have coffee and hot chocolates too.
Approximate cost: $12
Love Max Brenner although this one seems to be the most busiest? Not sure if that's coz there's nothing else out in Blacktown! but can always expect a 30+ min wait for a table at night
Approximate cost: $10
Im a chocoholic and this place ticks my boxes! Melted choc fondue, choc pizza, choc shots, choc cake, hot choc, choc milkshakes... the list goes on. If you have a sweet tooth you will be in heaven here.
Approximate cost: $10
The deserts are delicious and the place has a nice atmosphere. Great location, right next to restaurants, Hoyts and AMF bolwing!!
Approximate cost: $10
The food is absolutely delicious for any chocolate lover, even though the menu is quite expensive! The service is relatively good, even though the store is generally quite busy making it hard to find a seat. The only negative points I could make about max brenner blacktown is that they do not take bookings meaning that you have to line up for a table at times, and that they have a surcharge on weekends!
I absolutely love their Belgian waffles :) I love that their hot chocolate comes out ready to drink and not scalding my mouth or having to leave it sit for a while. It is a very popular place so finding a seat & very long waiting times are the only downside but expected in that situation.
Approximate cost: $17
A chocolate fanatic this was almost a dream come true. The chocolate fondue was a little overpriced, yet it's plating and decoration was amazing. Table service was fairly decent and overall, the menu is a little dear.
Approximate cost: $10
Went there one time with my friend, I ordered Mocca Latte (decaf and skim milk), cashier charged me an extra 50 cents for decaf, when I asked why he said because I want coffee with my Mocca Latte, turned out he did not know that mocca has coffee in it. When my order came, it was not as hot as it should be...
This is a very popular hang out spot at the moment, and there are a number of good dishes on the menu. I think because this is a new establishment, the staff may not be accustomed to waiting on customers yet. Our water was forgotten and a few dishes were served cold because they were waiting at the counter to be delievered to our table for a while. In time, I'm sure they will turn out better
