Great cafe with a very good choice of food. Staff are always really friendly and helpful! I will be back.. xxx
A table out the back in a nice sunny day, is a good way to start the day. Had the corn fritters which were excellent.
Great little lovely cafe. Coffee is really great and staff are also very welcoming. Great little place to stop by.
Love this place, and not just for the excellent lovely chirpy staff but also their great food and fan-freakin-tastic coffee.
Keep up the good work guys!!!
Food is delicious! Shakes and smoothies are to die for. I love sitting in the courtyard on a beautiful sunny day and enjoying a coffee. Lovely staff too. :-)
Went for lunch one week, came back for brunch the next...both times service was sensational, food so fresh, great friendly atmos and quirky decor. My new fav place to enjoy a meal with friends!! Size of meals are very generous. For lunch we chose the Moroccan lamb shoulder was baked for 15 hours and fell off the fork and the chicken salad was truly gluten free both $20 and very filling and healthy. Every dish has something a little bit different and could win a place on one of the foodie shows - delicious food. Very very good service. (For something really different try the Berocca in orange juice with a shot of vodka for a fast energy boost $12) amazing :-) This cafe offers the best freshest and truly gluten free menu I've seen in years!!!
Approximate cost: $20
Went there for brekkie! Enjoyed the food, nice menu and good vibe! I recommend to try ham hock! Loved the gluten free options! Great place for any diet needs or no diet at all! I'll be back!
I used to come here a lot for the french toast before they refined the menu - it would be absolutely soaking in blueberry compote, and I mean 'have a little toast with your blueberries' kind of thing. I went again last Sunday for a hangover breakfast and found it a busy and rushed, with the blueberries more of a garnish than a feature to the dish this time. Shame. I didn't feel like I could linger and enjoy the company I was with, as they were trying to turn over tables as quickly as possible. Still AMAZING food, with a fabulous menu selection, but this place is a victim of its own success
Service with a smile, this groovy little hideaway is a diners delight! Heavenly smooth and perfected quality coffee; these guys are the best around. If you're looking for Melbourne's best coffee look no further! As for the food though, the menu could do with a revamp! Not much selection and a bit of a wait ...
Approximate cost: $10
A bit of a wait for our table, I probably would have gone elsewhere had it not been my friend who promised it was worth the wait! The menu is pretty impressive which is quite vegetarian orientated. I had the porridge, and, i don't do porridge but this was actually pretty good. Highly recommend this place - regardless of a little waiting!
Service is pleasant enough, and a wait just means they are (or should be) quite good.
Food is reasonable, but not much range, it seems like a lot of items have avocado and eggs. Ingredients could be a little more natural and fresh (not saying it isn't, but the scrambled egg in particular tasted a bit processed).
There is nothing wrong with the place, Im just not blown away by it when there are so many other quality places in Melbourne.
It has a nice atmosphere, but would like to see the menu improved.
Haven't had the breakfast but I've heard amazing things. The muffins are amaaazing but fairly pricey ($4.50) and the coffee is just awful! Very bitter, could barely finish it. Overall I feel this cafe is very trendy and a bit overrated.
Approximate cost: $coffee = 3.50 small
Laschcas is a great place for breakfast.
The Breakfast menu is comprehensive Brekki Burritos yum, porridge the big breki etc
Coffee is great
Outside area is nice to eat in even on a chilly day, they have heaters on.
Approximate cost: $13
Can be extremely bust at times- probably because t is so well liked by the locals. Setting is trendy and the menu especially breakfast is amazing.
One of the best cafes around. Great coffee, great food with an interesting menu. Breakfast is a specialty. Highly recommended. Only downside is their is often a bit of a wait for a table on the weekend. Nice courtyard out the back.
Las Chicas is quite probably the most popular cafe on Carlisle Street, and once you manage to get a table there you find out why. The food is of excellent quality. The service friendly and the atmosphere buzzes. But if you're looking for brunch with a group of friends on the weekend you all better be wearing your lucky undies, cos nabbing anything more than a table for two without having to wait for half an hour would be a miracle!
This has quickly become my favourite place for breakfast. Being a vegetarian who doesn't eat eggs, breakfast has been been a big drawcard for me. But Las Chicas changed this. Their baked bean brekky - housemade baked beans, spinach, and pumpkin and polenta bread is amazing. Washed down with a Bloody Mary, there is no better way to start a lazy day. Their offerings for lunch are also great - delicious paninis, burgers, and chips with lashings of vinegar. Yum!

What a wonderful experience. Fabulous, diverse menu, terrific quality breakfast, great coffee and attentive staff - very busy and they don't give you heaps of time, but the service is descent. The salmon eggs were the best I have ever had. What a nice change to get a very good helping of salmon! The balance of tastes in the mouth still lingers in my mind. So many places overdo the sauce or the bread overwhelms the food texture. We also had pancakes and they made the eaters eyes widen - excellent. The muesli is well presented and yummy. The omelette was excellent. The tables are pretty close together but I can put up with that given the wonderful experience.

Went for lunch on a Monday and it was packed! We got a table and the waiter promptly told us there may be a wait on food. But really it only took about a 20min wait to get our food. Food is simple but delicious and there is so much to choose from, everyone is bound to find something they want. There is also a whole page of options for vegetarians. Friendly staff and lovely outdoor courtyard.
A change of management has definately had an impact on the experience and feel of the place. They have wheeled in new staff which are definately at opposite ends of the spectrum of the past staff who made the place. Still had to que for a table, however I expect this to change once the 'usual customers' realise things have changed for the worse.
