Used WOMO to choose an electrician, but very disappointed. I should have stopped him from the beginning whe he smashed the ceramic cover to pendant light to remove it because "it's the only way you remove these things" . He damaged the plaster ceiling by doing this. Removed the pendant light cord and replaced it with a batten fitting which looked ridiculous in a period home with high ceilings. Very rough workmanship, delivered an end product that I did not want or agree to. I was able to rectify my problem with the assistance of my local lighting store. I would never have him back or recommend him.

I contacted Hardaker Electrical Services after reading the positive WOMO reviews, and I have no regrets!
Simon and I agreed on a date and time when it suited me to do the work, and he promptly arrived at agreed time. New oven was a bit tight to fit, but with a bit of tweaking, Simon was able to get it nicely installed. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Simon.

I recently purchased some new pendant lights that i needed installed and needed to find an electrician so googled reviews for electricians and came across Hardaker electrical services. Simon came out and did such a great job installing the lights that we've had him back out for further work already. The quality of his work is fantastic, plus he's friendly and gives great advice.

I would use Hardaker Electrical Services again. Simon was very personable and professional in his approach. He was clear about what he would be doing, made good suggestions, and we're happy with the work done. Simon's stand out quality over other businesses we've used recently was his pleasant and personable manner. He's a genuine kind of guy who does good work.

Based on the large number of positive reviews for this business on WOMO, I engaged this business for a minor electrical job, involving installation of a power point and change over of an existing power point. Also minor repairs to cover of existing switchboard. An electrician from this business attended to undertake the work.
Power point was installed, other minor works were undertaken, and I received a Certificate of Electrical Safety.
After the electrician had left, the following was noted in relation to his work:-
* I requested a particular brand and model of power point which was not supplied
* Plaster sheeting around entry point to roof space was damaged
* Head of screw at rear of power point was stripped probably due to being over tightened
* Metal swarf (ie sharp metal filings)were left in the rear of a mounting block after drilling a hole for cable.
The standard of workmanship observed in relation to this project was not acceptable. I would not recommend this business based on my experience.

Moving into a new house, needed the fusebox upgraded according to building report. Found Simon on womo, he came round had a look, and was able to do it on short notice so that we could move into the house with the work done. He was polite, reasonable cost, and did the work quickly and efficiently. He has a look around when we asked him, and went over the things we needed to do, and despite us thinking we needed to do a lot of things, told us what we needed to do and suggested things we didn't need to fix right away. Seemed a genuine guy, honest and reliable, won't be hesitating using his services again.

On day one, Simon inspected and made recommendations after explaining in details. His team has accommodated our tight schedule and completed everything on time. Highly recommended for their professionalism, workmanship and honesty.

We had 10 halogen down lights replaced with LED down lights and an led lighting strip installed into our pantry. Simon was very professional and efficient in his work. His suggestion of the led strip light for the pantry was a winner, something we'd never have thought of ourselves. He was neat and tidy and replaced the plaster in the ceiling and walls.

Simon replaced our front door sensor light, replaced and supplied exhaust fan and lighting for 2 bathrooms, installed new light fitting for kitchen, family room and verandah. He was professional and friendly. The exhaust fans turned out to be not powerful enough for our needs; but Simon was able to replace them with another model having higher air extraction rate. We are happy with the new fans. Overall Simon has done a good job. Recommended.

Need an electrician to work on the office. Didn't know where to find a good one so jump on WOMO and found Simon. Great service, very friendly and professional.

Simon was friendly, professional and willing to be flexible according to our needs. Work performed:
- Wiring of four rooms with Cat6 to a central switch.
- Installation of digital antenna & RG6 quad shield cable to wall socket.
- Installation of individual circuit breakers in meter box
- Replacement of bathroom fan timer-switch
- Replacement of front porch sensor light fitting

He made a couple of slips with the drill resulting in minor plaster damage, but was able to patch these up with some putty. Overall a good job at a very decent price. Recommended.

Simon replaced a 3in1 fan/light system in the bathroom and also a light fitting. He explained a number of things regarding prolonging the life of the items and using electricity efficiently. We were lucky that Simon was able to fit us in on the same day as I phoned through my enquiry. Whilst I wouldn't expect that level of service every time, I know that Simon would be personable and professional in our future dealings.

Had 8 halogen downlights that were not working fixed. Simon came in on a Saturday after having had a look at them on a Friday at which time he needed to buy some parts. Took a little bit of diagnosis to get to the bottom of some reasons why they weren't working but in the end a good result. Would recommend to anyone looking for a friendly affordable electrician

Remember that really hot weather we had in late January? Not the best time to have an electrical problem, what with the need for fans etc. Simon came quickly and sorted out the problem. A very pleasant and fair tradesman.

Our transformers were getting a bit old which resulted in the lights cutting out when it reached a certain temperature. So we decided to replace our current halogen downlights to LED downlights and Simon was able to explain to us the different LED lights available and what would be suited to our house. We also decided to add some extra downlights to our home.

Simon was very prompt in arriving at the agreed time and very professional at all times.

We would definitely use him again for any future work.

Electrical work on an external light fitting that I assumed was faulty because when the globe blew it tripped the circuit breaker. There had previously been problems with this fitting.
Simon fully explained what the problem was and why the light fitting did not have to be replaced. He made the necessary adjustments to the light fitting and replaced the globe with a more suitable type for the application than the one that blew.
This was an all-round excellent service with cost saving honesty. I highly recommend Hardaker Electrical Services.

I chose Hardaker Electrical Services base on WOMO reviews. My trust was rewarded in that Simon arrived on time, agreed to replace a range of electrical fittings and all done at a reasonable price. He was most professional, knowledgeable and courteous. While the work at my home was modest, I have no hesitation in recommending his services to anyone requiring the services of a qualified electrician.

We moved into our new house and Simon installed fans, new lights, fixed faulty electrical work, etc and gave great advice. He is respectful and efficient. Highly recommend his services. He also turns up on time on the day he says he will be there.

We recently moved into a 7 year old “energy efficient” house. Within a short while noticed that the electrical consumption was excessively high, around 50 KWH per day. I spoke to Simon who explained in very simple terms how we could reduce consumption and save money.
He also reviewed our switchboard and found that it whilst it was compliant, it was not necessary the safest arrangement. Having 5 young and curious kids, this is important to us.
Following Simon's input I obtained other quotes for the work. Simon's was the second cheapest quote, however we chose to go with him as his references all stated that he was honest and trustworthy, and he actually does what he quotes with no shortcuts. He also uses good quality components that will last for many years, unlike many of his competitors.
Simon arrived on time and over a two day period, replaced approx. 40 halogen downlights with LED downlights, 4 x bathroom extract fans with damper fans (to stop hot air from flowing out), added a couple of data cable so that we could connect our TVs to the internet. (Incidentally, other electricians said that this was not possible due to the building construction, but Simon found a way!) He also updated some of the switchboard's components and added an extra power cable for a new airconditioner unit.
During this time, he interacted with various members of our family. We all found him to be polite and friendly. My wife, who seriously dislikes having tradies in the house, also found him to be quite likeable.
After the changes, our power consumption dropped to around 30KWH per day. The cost of this electrical work will be paid for within 18 months from these savings. Quite incredible
