We put off a major renovation for a decade, fearing the stress. However, partnering with Basus Build made it a surprisingly smooth experience. Brendan was professional, and an excellent communicator who held weekly progress meetings with us and always followed up discussions with written minutes to ensure we were on the same page. Our renovation was high-quality, with realistic quotes and explanations for both more expensive and cheaper options. The crew and tradespeople were skilled, friendly, professional, and considerate of the neighbours. The work site was non-smoking, free from annoying loud music and incredibly tidy, with regular rubbish removal. The demolition prioritized recycling and minimizing waste, which was important to us.

Brendan was eager to accommodate our needs, explaining the formalities of the build, including insurances, and going through the contract in detail. He collaborated well with the building designer and interior decorator to achieve a high-performance build, now a pleasure to live in with significantly reduced energy bills. Despite the challenges of COVID-related supply uncertainties and fluctuating quotes, Brendan's effective coordination ensured negligible delays and cost increases. Our build was on time, and any budget overruns were due to our own changes in choices. After moving in, the few minor issues were addressed to our satisfaction promptly. We are thrilled to be living in a comfortable, beautiful new home.

From the beginning, Brendan Dagge was clear and professional to deal with. Communication was prompt and contract negotiation smooth. Due to the site and design, there was a high degree of difficulty. Care had to be taken to protect existing assets, both our adjoining neighbour’s property and a stormwater asset. We could not be happier with the way Brendan dealt with this challenge. He was calm and conscientious throughout, which made a world of difference to the experience. His crew were very friendly and professional as well. Our neighbours were kept in the loop and commented on the diligence of the team, and the pace of the build.
The quality of the finished build is superb; friends who are builders and project managers have singled out how well it is constructed. Brendan and his team did exemplary work.
Conventional wisdom is that building a house is hard and stressful, but that was not our experience at all, and this is largely due to Brendan. Commissioning his services was the best decision we have made and consider ourselves fortunate. We wholeheartedly recommend him and his team to anyone wishing to complete a high-quality project.

Engaging a builder can always be a difficult choice. Meeting Brendan and engaging him as our builder was the best decision we made. His ability to work professionally with our architect and us was a very affirmative experience. He was always available to answer questions, patiently provide advice and get on with managing the project. He coordinated all the trades seamlessly. His quality of workmanship was exemplary and he went beyond expectations to deliver the project on time and put in extra long hours to do so.

The only thing that went well in 2020 was a direct result of Brendan and his hand-picked team of builders and contractors taking care and pride in the work they were doing and the outcomes produced — in our case a new home. During lockdown we would ride our bikes to the site and have a look, and it was a delight to see the team working steadily, thoughtfully and carefully on our build. The result is a fantastic family home that has been well made and beautifully finished. Of course I would recommend Basus Build to anyone looking to build or renovate in the future.
