I had a formal dress taken up and a daring front split closed. Super quick and a perfect job. Very friendly service. Maybe a bit on the expensive side but worth it for such a great result. Will definitely be a return customer.
Very happy with the job done on my dress. Was a tough project but these guys did magic. Very quick turnaround and a great price..
Approximate cost: $45
Great job on my pants and jacket. It was a complicated job and I am Very happy with the work and pricing. Well done guys.
Do not go here! The owner is incredibly rude and argumentative with no respect for her customers. Their prices are exorbitant and definitely not worth it
WOW! What an amazing place. The ladies here are top class. My shirt has never fit so well and my pants have never been more comfortable.
Great work at a great price!

Poor service all round. Good if you want to your clothes ruined.
Extremely rude customer service, especially the owner i think her name is Mahbob. What I had brought in was not ready for collection as agreed. Then despite paying upfront for shortening and tailoring, they have only completed half the job. I politely stated that I was unhappy with the result. The person behind the counter then angrily snatched the clothing item from me and threw my receipt docket back at me saying to come back in 3 days. It was the wrong receipt by the way. My 8 year old was startled by the way I was spoken too. My heart was racing and I had to sit down. Can centre management have a word with these disrespectful people on the expected level of customer service, professionalism, trust and reliability and workmanship. Disgraceful customer service. Everything that was agreed on wasn't followed by them. False advertising and false assurance
I love these guys. Very Professional. Best Prices. Quick Turnaround. Friendly and professional. 100% Yes
Charged me $90 to take in a jumpsuit at the bodice, had it for two weeks, had to re-do it 3 times because of the shocking job they did which caused bubbling at the seams. The seamstress was so rude, spoke about me to another employee like I wasn't there! Patronising, condescending, unbelieveable. I ended up collecting the jumpsuit completely dissatisfied because I wanted nothing more to do with them. The finish on the inside of the garment is just awful too. NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!
If you're looking for friendly customer service and affordable prices, look else where. I am still recovering in my dealings with Alterations Now 234 Collins St.
What horrible people. I dealt with [Redacted name] who was so rude to charged me $125 for a double sided zip but only gave me a single sided one and tried to tell me that's what we agreed to. After a long argument She reluctantly gave my money back. Why would I agree to a standard zip for a double sided jacket at a cost of $125. Note he refused to refund my money unless he took the zip he installed out first, it was [Redacted offensive word] quality any way
Approximate cost: $125
I collected my items yesterday, a dress and 2 jackets, peRfect fit like always, very happy with their work, thanks guys, will come back with more!
Extremely happy with their work and pricing. Would definitely recommend.
Great service, excellent job and very reasonable pricing, i have been to many alterations before and the service at this shop in Collins St is by far the best. Will definitely go back
I Went to Alterations Now at Collins St
and was appalled at their service. I wanted to simply take in the arms of a shirt which cost $35 for a job my grandmother could do. They said it would take a week.
Arrived on the day at the time they said to pick it up, come to find its not ready,
they need another 20 minutes. Went back 20 minutes later, was told they need another 5 minutes. This job would've taken an hour at most and its clear they've left it until the last minute to do it. Disgusted.
Do not go here! [redacted due to personal identifier]

Two shirts sleeve shortening - $70. Quality was terrible. Both shirts now look like puffy pirate shirts at the sleeves. Unwearable. Find a local business which will be better priced and undoubtedly better quality. avoid this horrid chain.
Great service and people. Excellent workmanship.
Just did a great job on several suits of mine which needed taking in on all areas. Perfect fit now and very reasonable pricing. Thank you Alterations Now.
excellent service and great prices. Have done various tailoring work on mine and my wifes clothing and always a great job.

This is the poorest customer service I have ever experienced and I was also
blatantly ripped off. Firstly, I took the initiative to email Alterations
Now, asking for a quote to hem my jeans. They responded that it was $17 but
they needed to look at the jeans first, which was completely reasonable. I
advised them I was going to come to them the following day at 1pm and they
agreed. The following day, a man took my measurements and we agreed I would
come back after work to collect my jeans. I found it very unusual that he
didn't even ask to take my contact details or record the business
transaction. When I came to collect my jeans, around 5.30pm later that day,
there was a woman there and of course, she had no clue where my jeans were
or even what my name was. She did find them eventually. She then charged me
$35.00 - more than double the quoted price! I asked why the emailed quote
for $17 didn't stand and she said they had to do further hemming work to
make the jeans to a tapered fit like I had requested. No one had told me
this was extra or double the cost! The man apologized for not telling me
but didn't even sound sincere. Then I was told I could only pay in cash
even though there was a clear sign stating the minimum on card transactions
is $30. But, for some dodgy reason, if it's same day service, they only
accept cash. I unhappily paid for the service and went home only to
discover marks on the white jeans, unsure how they got dirty, but after a
wash they were clean again. Ignore the fact that they've been here for 10
years + because it doesn't ensure good quality customer service or pricing.
I will make sure myself and all my friends, family and colleagues never
waste their time and money at Alterations Now.

Just to show my appreciation for the professional job these guys have done on my two suits last week, just in time very good prices and lots of happy faces. Definitely recommend.

Have been to them for the past few years, absolutely fantastic, very happy with their job on all my dresses.

I've taken several pairs of pants and jeans to 'Alterations Now' in the city (Collins Street) for shortening and have always been very pleased with the result. I'm very short so always have to have things taken up so it's great to find somewhere convenient where I can get a great job done in just a few days.
I am still in shock. I took a much loved dress in for a simple alteration - just to have it taken up at the shoulders. The woman I spoke to demanded the money up front (I paid $45). After trying the dress on it was painfully apparent that she had taken it up way too much, and the dress was rendered unwearable. I genuinely assumed that I would just go back an she would fix the error for me. What shocked me the most was the attitude of the woman. She immediately became defensive and and started saying 'it's not my fault and it can't be fixed', and was becoming quite aggitated even though I was calm. I asked for my money back, seeing as she says she can't fix it (I'm SURE it's fixable) and she said she would not give it to me. When I pointed out the unfairness she started yelling 'don't tell me how to do my job, go to word of mouth why don't you', so here i am! She kept yelling as I was leaving the complex. I have NEVER known such rudeness and unprofessionalism. It takes alot for me to complain, andI am beyond disappointed.

Thats a shame you didnt read my review first. I don't know how they stay in business.
Hello Billieb, after reading Brighteyes comments, your review should not come as a surprise to us, but it does nevertheless. How unapologetic (and rude) businesses like this remain active, we do not know. However ‘Word of Mouth’ is unquestionably a powerful tool and once people have suffered at the hands of such rude and incompetent individuals, they will not ever return. With the invention of social media sites, dissatisfied customers are ‘spreading the word’ at a much faster rate than ever before. While this should be of great concern to the ‘less than satisfactory’ business amongst us, many remain arrogant, unapologetic and uncompromising. That is until they find that they can no longer pay their bills. While the business in question may not care too much about this at the present time, it will come back to bite them…eventually. How nice of this employer/employee to recommend WOMO, this was very kind of her and she has essentially done you a favour! We thank you for having the courage to speak up about your experience and wish you the best of luck seeking out a more competent business to deal with. Regards, Reeces
i was sent there by where i bought my wedding dress to have it altered. it needed to have the sides in, put the hem up on the front and place a button on the back. the woman (wife?) was absolutely lovely. such a friendly person! unfortunately, the job done was horrific. the hem taken up was crooked!!! the person who did it took it up on the side rather than the front (the exposed beading was off centre, and that's what they used as the "front")!! the button placed on the back didn't match the dress, and looks ugly as. the only good thing (which was the biggest job) was the sides. at least that was done ok. i can't take it back and have them fix it as my wedding is too short away. they were two days late as it was....
moral of story: don't take your expensive gowns here!! not worth the hundreds of dollars i forked out!
I dropped 3 pairs of pants off to be altered, 1 pair were Ralph Lauren pants $200. I explained clearly and had them explain how they were going to alter them so there would be no mishaps. How wrong i was. They ran a seam down each leg and that was it on the Ralph Lauren pants which i had to unpick as soon as I got home. The other two pairs where done exactly the opposite to how they said they would do them. I couldn't believe it. The women who was there when i picked them up could not speak english and it was difficult to explain what was wrong....although i think she new by looking at the pants. 3 pairs of pants ruined. The owner of the business then rang me and the verbal abuse followed.

I had a horrific experience with a woman at alterations now today.
Hello Brighteyes, You certainly got more than you bargained for with this business didn’t you?! Needless to say, this is an appalling situation, one that should never have happened in the first place. The sure ‘tell-tale’ sign of an incompetent business is attempting to lay the blame upon the respective customer and then abusing them. It seems as though this business has succeeded within this area. The sure sign of a decent and harmonious business is how they deal with problematic areas, which arise in every business. Obviously, ‘Alterations Now’ have failed you terribly and out of common decency, you should be compensated for your loss. They may have made a ‘quick buck’ but will wear the consequences (publicly) thanks to you (and WOMO). We thank you for such a candid and concise review. Reeces
It was convenient, great value for money but the best part was their efficiency. I have never been to an alterations place and got top quality workmanship done so quickly.

Alterations Now is a compay that provide same day service (infact same hour if required) for clothing alterations at a reasonable price. All items of clothing I have taken to them for altering I have been satisfied with - they always seem to get the right fit/length.
