I went here with my work colleagues for lunch a few weeks ago. It was PACKED and when we asked for a table, we were told to sit at the coffee bar, and that we would be moved to a table when it got freed up. That would have been fine, except we ended up staying at the coffee bar the entire meal (we were not sure if someone forgot we were waiting on a table) as well as the fact that one of my work colleagues was heavily pregnant and quite uncomfortable sitting on a small stool. So that was pretty disappointing.
Having said that, the food was great, really yummy and quite generous in portion size. Coffee was good too. Service was quite slow but very friendly when there was some.
It's disappointing that I wouldn't recommend this place on the basis of it being totally overcrowded. I would be worried that I wouldn't get a seat again, and be disappointed on the second time. Maybe it just needs to get less popular!
I ordered a North Face goose down jacket over the internet (from the US) that turned out to be a little longer than expected. Having weighed up my options about sending it back or altering it I decided it would be more worthwhile to have it tailored (not knowing if a tailor could do this).
When I went in I said what I wanted, and to my delight I came back 4 days later and the jacket was done to precision, and EXACTLY as expected. It wouldn't have been an easy jacket, and the lady there said that the feathers had gone all over her shop! But she was very friendly about it all.
It did cost $75 (which she told me when I went in, so I knew how much I was up for) but the job was done so well that it was worth every dollar. I love my jacket now!
I had a private job done here just recently on a volkswagon golf. My quote was for a major dent in the panel where the wheel is, as well as the door, which I had scraped pretty badly in a carpark. I had gotten several other quotes and Tasman Checkpoint had the most competitive, so I decided to go with them.
I was pretty happy I did because it came out looking just the same as before, and only took 3 business days to get it done (despite initially being told 12 days, but received a call shortly after having taken it in). I didn't get a temporary car to use in the meantime because I live within walking distance and therefore didn't ask, so I can't comment whether this is available or not.
Also my car got a much needed clean inside and out, which was a bonus!
I have been having my hair done by Tahleah for years, as I was a previous client of hers from another salon (before setting up Koto). I can always trust that she can give me my cut and colour to my liking. While it isn't the cheapest place to have your hair done, it is good value because I never walk out feeling that I wasted my money on a bad cut/colour. I would recommend.
