Ok I gave 5/5 for all four criteria, although some could perhaps be 4.5/5. The service is excellent when you combine the Routes 216, 219 and 220 to get to certain destinations where all three Routes crossover (eg. Domain Interchange, South Melbourne; Queen St, Melbourne; Paisley St, Footscray; Essex/Ashley St, West Footscray; Sunshine Railway Station). Together the combined services are run every 15 minutes during off-peak weekdays. The buses are always oquite clean and comfortable. During peak periods (from city on weekday afternoons, to city on weekday mornings) it can be uncomfortable to travel despite extra buses and more frequent services at these times. They generally run on-time, but there have been rare occasions when a bus was due but never showed (driver gone fishing?). I am glad to have this service near my house because it is so convenient.
I think cost-wise the price is competitive considering a Daily Zone 1 ticket of $6.80 can last all day and take you to many places in and around Melbourne on bus, train and tram (compare that to taxi fares!). Quality is satisfactory, but there is definitely room for improvement: cleaner trains, less graffiti / vandalism, better station facilities including adequate seating. Service is definitely poor, with too many cancelled and late services, and many services are not regular enough (eg. Sundays or after midnight). More trains are required, and more services - but this is really up to the Government to provide since Metro is only a private operator on the Government's behalf.
Generally a quiet looking store since there are two Coles Supermarkets in Coburg, and a Woolworths down the street also. This store sits just next to Coburg Railway Station so it is convenient for customers travelling by train on the Upfield line. The store is pretty tidy, and they have a good range of products.
The store is quite a dirty store on first impression, but after a closer inspection this impression is due to the lack of maintenance and the busyness of the store. Generally this store is pretty busy because it is in central Footscray, but I would suspect a lot of shoplifting occurs as the kind of people in the area are of a lower socio-economic status and therefore are predispositioned to commit theft. Otherwise this store is close to the buses in Footscray, and only a five minute walk to Footscray Railway Station. The store is a reasonable size, but the range may lack in some areas (I was looking for pest-control once and couldn't find a product similar to what I sought).
Yeah I miss the Bi-Lo this store used to be, but they still have decent prices, since there is an Aldi "next door" (in Central West Plaza). The store is well laid out, the aisles are a comfortable width, and they have a reasonable range (including alcohol). I like this store because it's busyness is average, and it always looks clean (unlike Coles Footscray).
I love this store! Is it because it looks so clean (like all supermarkets should)? Is it because it is never overcrowded? Is it because it has wide aisles and lots of floorspace (for a bigger range)? YES!!! The only drawback would have to be the odd scumbag of the western suburbs that looks unkempt, acts rudely, and could be violent or criminal. But the store itself has great staff who work as a team always!
A Safeway store that is in need of a refurb and sooner is better. It always seems a bit dirty, but that is probably due to the busyness of the place during the day. Conveniently located opposite Brunswick Railway Station and just a short walk from the Sydney Road trams.
I find the range is limited due to limited floorspace. They are currently undertaking a refurbishment due for completion mid-2010, so hopefully they will look cleaner and have more products. It is a small store by any comparison. Can be busy during afternoon weekdays so definitely avoid shopping then.
I always enjoy buying petrol from here because I get the 4c per litre discount, and it is close to home. The station is very quiet when I buy at 3am (which I think is great because I can get in and get out quickly and comfortably).
I really enjoy shopping at Woolworths QV: although it is a busy and popular store, the service is still decent. Their range is quite extensive for Woolies as they have decent floorspace (I think they pretty much stock everything a full-range Woolworths would stock).
