Brubakers is a good place for a quick coffee and sandwich on the run. The range of sandwiches and bagels used to be prepared fresh, now they have them pre prepared, however if you want something different they can make it for you. Pricing and quality is reasonable.

This place offers an all you can eat Japanese and Korean buffet. However the buffet is not served as things out of bain maries and most of it is prepared fresh and on the spot. Quality of the food is good and the range available is enough to meet varying tastes. We went for the $50 menu as the higher priced menu (I think it was $70) did not offer much more apart from more sashimi. There are good selection of hot dishes including bulgogi and salads with salmon, sushi rolls with prawn, tempura, yakitori etc etc.

For reasonable quality Thai food on the run, visit the Red Elephant. During lunchtime they have a range of quick Thai dishes with curry, vegetables or other foods. Entrees consist of fish cakes, satays etc. The place is a bit of fusion Thai on some dishes with the fish cakes being non traditional in presentation style (in this case it's not a bad thing) along with the more traditional curry and rice which is quite authentic in flavour.

Great place to visit during the summer months where you can stop by for a coffee or tea, or try their muffins or cakes, and also the fruit wines are available to sample. Fresh blueberries and raspberries are also available for purchase as well as their own farm made jams and preserves.

Note address should be Garnook and not Granook!

By Sydney and Melbourne standards, the food at this place is average. We ordered a chicken dish, a tofu dish, some prawns and a few other things. The flavour of the food was good but not exciting to the palate. The food lacks freshness of ingredients and the heat of a good wok where in good Cantonese cooking cooking time is short as you want to ensure that the produces' freshness comes through. Unfortunately it seemed like the dishes we ordered were a little on the overcooked side or a bit heavy with the MSG.(Very thirsty afterwards!) That said, the food is better than some of the other places we tried and is a reasonable standard. Service from the waitresses was efficient and friendly. Decor is typical Chinese and seating is a little on the cramped side with as many tables packed in as possible.

Want fast Chinese noodles or fried rice on the run? Come here for a quick meal but don't great expect service - you come here because the food is authentic and a good quality. (What did you expect for around $12??) My favourite is the Yeung Tao Foo which allows you to pick your favourite items (dim sim, prawn, fish balls etc) to go with your noodles (thick yellow, white rice sticks, or vermicelli) and soup (Chicken, curry etc). Across from Grain Asian is a little take away space they have which sells a few yum cha items that you can add to your meal as an entree. Pricing is average. Tea is complimentary - you just need to help yourself!

The place for steak in Adelaide - Winning the best steak restaurant for several years running the place proved itself the night we were there offering great quality local produce. Steaks have been well aged and cooked any way you want with the flavour not being lost on those who wanted very well done! Desserts are also worthy of attention with the cheesecake being the highlight as far as desserts go. Bring your Qantas frequent flyer card here too and earn points just for experiencing great dining! Service from staff was attentive and not too intrusive.

Best fish and chips on the island? You betcha! And you'd never realise it because it's an unassuming place joined to a Caltex Service Station. They have the largest range of local seafood on the island including marrons (freshwater crayfish), scallops, crayfish, king george whiting, flake, etc etc. They offer three ways of cooking the fish - grilled, crumbed and battered so you can pick the best way to enjoy the fish as well as their own premises made salads. The quality of the produce is right up there with all items fresh daily. This place came highly rated in the international tripadvisor.com reviews too.

This restaurant came highly recommended from locals for those who enjoy seafood. The marron is a freshwater crayfish introduced to Kangaroo Island around 20 years ago. Due to the nature of the island being environmentally friendly, the seafood is extremely fresh and clean. We ordered a seafood platter and all enjoyed the marron, scallops, prawns and fish. There is a good balance of salad, seafood and salad and the sauces are made on premises to go with the seafood. Overall a great place to dine - suprisingly out in the middle of nowhere!

We dined at Bella for lunch and bought pizza there takeaway for dinner. Food quality and presentation is good and tasty. Service is however lacking with junior staff who serve the locals first. We experienced this when we were there where the junior waitress took our order for drinks, then took a table of locals only to return with the locals drinks first. When we informed the manager the waitress returned only to haughtily refute the claim despite another table clearly noting what happened. Good quality food ruined by bad service. When we returned for pizza takeaway that night we were happy to find the waitress gone and more mature friendly staff there.
