Looking for something unique to take to your friends overseas or have a special event on that you want people to remember?
This store may have just what you are looking for! I used their products for a relative's wedding overseas and people were surprised how unique a gift it was for attending the wedding. We arranged to have a Chinese symbol for double happiness along with their names inside the candy as part of a selection of parting gifts for guests as well as a couple of bags for the couple themselves. We were able to select the colors and the flavours. The result was small candies that were a unique reminder of the day - a sweet end to a great beginning for them.
There is a minimum order of about $300 for your own design, however when you have 500+ people attending the wedding that's not too hard a total to reach!
I also regularly buy candies from the store as a treat as the small size means you can indulge but at the same time manage your sugar cravings!
There are many flavors from mango, lemon, lime, passionfruit, strawberry etc etc and you can mix and match flavours by putting a few in your mouth at the same time!
Regular bags run around $5.
The price is a little high, however they make great unique gifts and the flavours are great too!

As our regular place for fish and chips was sold to someone else and the quality went down, I went looking around on womo for a new place to have my regular fix of fish and chips. I found this place which has had very complementary reviews and thought I'd give it a try.
What they've said is very true about the place. The quality is top notch and the owner cares about the quality of what he makes. We don't live near the place so it is a 15 to 20 minute drive from our place to the store. The owner went to great lengths to ensure that the salad that is normally put in the box with the fish and chips was put in a separate container. This ensured the fish and chips were crispy and dry when we got home. They also tear holes in the packages to ensure that there is no build up of steam to make the batter go soft. These might not seem like big things but it is - especially when you have a long way to travel back and the results speak for themselves.
Go for the whiting or the flake, they're great, even the blue grenadier, however the jewfish was quite soggy, very soft texture, not to our liking - especially when you want to have it fried.
If something is not right, they will do as much as reasonably possible to make sure you are happy - just let them know as they are very honest in their efforts to provide you with a great experience!

After REAL Thai food in Perth? Itsara rates highly in our book with wait staff from Thailand who actually speak Thai and understand what the food is like. More importantly, the restaurant bears the name of the cook - Itsara, who is Thai and has a background in cooking Thai food via his parents. Not only are real Thai ingredients used, but they also grow their own on premises to ensure that the flavours are authentic - now that's dedication. The base ingredients are all made from the ground up - no cans of curry paste or chilli sauce here! Ingredients are skillfully blended to make you feel like you're back in Bangkok. We were lucky to be able to order off menu and if you have the chance, ask Cress (the restaurant manaager) to see if Itsara can make Crab meat Fried Rice ("Cao pat puu")! (Oh no, now the secret is out!)
Prices are high, however it reflects the cost of the ingredients and preparation time taken to ensure authenticity.
The range of food on the menu is limited - no fish or prawn cakes, no chicken wrapped in pandanus leaves, just a range of high quality curries, salads and whole seafood items (full sized fish, prawns etc) compared to other Thai restaurants, however you are going for quality over range. What they do they do well!
We dined with relatives from Thailand and they commented on how authentic the food was too!

For either traditional Malaysian fare or fusion Asian this place provides a blend of both.
We always enjoy the Nasi Lemak, Lobak, Laksa and other traditional fare.
Quality of dishes are very good. Service is good and the staff know what the food tastes like (unlike some places where the staff have never tried the food!!)
Seating can be a bit tight and tables are small if you are ordering a number of dishes to share, however the main reason for any restaurant is the food which is of a very good quality.
Wireless WiFi is available and don't forget you can earn Qantas frequent flyer points at this place so long as you bring your card to swipe.

If you are in search of great lobster/crayfish and also want to buy fresh to take home, this is the place to go!
They have a shop that sells both frozen and freshly prepared crayfish. This place specializes in crayfish ready to eat on premises (there's an outdoor area to enjoy the crayfish with some salad) or to buy and take home to prepare the way you want. The place is reknown for the freshness and tastiness of the crayfish.

If you live in Perth and around the Nedland area, don't go past this unassuming fish and chip shop!
Taste, quality and flavour are all at the top of the tree for this place. We ordered whiting and it came out perfect. They fry the fish in small pieces to ensure that there are no bones and the batter is wafer thin and not oily - it provides just enough coverage over the fish to ensure that the fish is the main event and not the batter. Chips are perfect and crisp. Other fish like flake, and barramundi are all fried with the same batter and the fish just shines through! We did however find the scallops a bit small.
Prices are high for what you get ($11 for whiting, barramundi) however the quality and taste are what you pay for.
Highly recommended!

For authentic and very reasonably priced Japanese head over to Kidos. The restaurant is owned and run by a Japanese lady so you know you are getting authentic Japanese food.
Serving size and quality is very good, however wait staff lack some experience in recommending food (maybe they were students?) and spoke Chinese instead of Japanese!
However the overall experience is very good.

Kri Kri is a place that offers Greek food Tapas style. Small (well, actually very generous!!) servings of different types of food that works similar to Asian style eating (sharing dishes) of providing a great range of variety for the pallette instead of one dish for one person.
This place, whether you purchase vouchers via a coupon website or even pay the rates in the menu represents excellent value for money and the dishes are all of a very high quality.
If you select one of the banquets for either lunch or dinner you will definitely not be disappointed because there is so much food you will not go home hungry! With tapas style dining there is something for everyone from sausages, spanikopitas, salads, cheeses, dips, desserts and more!
Service is always very friendly and helpful and the dishes once you start your arrives well paced so you're not doing a 100 yard dash to the finish, but you are also not doing snail's pace dining. It is just right!
The restaurant has a good range of drinks to suit most diners.
Overall a great dining experience! Don't miss this place if you're after Greek tapas - very unique!

This is one of the few places in Perth that have a decent yum cha. The only problem is that there are no bookings - get a number and queue up! The food quality is very good by Perth standards with yum cha staples such as har gau and siu mai being rated as very good, however not up to the quality you would find in Sydney or Melbourne.
The decor is what you'd find in a Chinese restaurant (okay with reasonable lighting) and the service is adequate. Unfortunately some of the ladies pushing the trolleys forget to stop by so keep an eye out for what you want! Also beware the dishes that have travelled enough to accrue frequent flyer miles because no one wants them. They kept coming around with the same items that did not sell in the hope that you would eventually give in and just take what's on the trolley or tray!
Price wise better value can be found in Melbourne or Sydney for yum cha, however if you live in Perth this is probably the place to visit. We had six adults and two kids and the bill came to just under $200 and we were not full - we just ran out of time waiting for the right dishes to come! (We were told when asked, yes it is coming but it took too long).
Be aware that they also add a surcharge for payment by credit card.

This shop has built up a large following for its amazing and highly addictive pastries - the apple strudel is something else not experienced at other patisseries I have been to around Australia. The pastry is light and flaky with a slightly sweet flavor and the filling of custard and apple make it irresistable - just try to eat just one piece and only one! The other pastries such as florentines, eclairs etc all have the same level of quality and taste.
The only thing that detratcts from the whole experience is however the service. The lady at the counter really did not take an interest or care about providing service. We got the feeling that it was a case of you buy or you don't buy from us and however I pack the cakes for you is how you get them. This is despite asking her to help with wrapping the cakes a little more as we were taking these from Perth to Melbourne.
The cakes score a full five star rating, however the poor service brings down the whole experience.
A few other people i spoke to after visiting the place also confirmed this experience - it's almost like the cake shop out of a Seinfeld episode with the soup nazi!
