An utter gem. Lovely staff, amazingly attentive and sweet. Good food and very, very good coffee. Loved the music too. A new and favourite hangout.

Can we claim Operator25 for West Melbourne? I think we should. Great fit out, friendly and efficient staff and great coffee. The carnivore wolfed his Wagyu burger down, like, well a wolf!

Run by two charming ladies Milkwood is a must try cafe. The menu is pretty comprehensive but I can thoroughly recommended the potato rosti or ricotta pancakes - yum! They are happy to accommodate your dietary needs (Nutlex instead of butter for example) without attitude - nice!

Smiley, happy people work here. As if the cupcakes weren't enough! Everything is vegan although you can't tell. The peanut butter is my favourite, at $2.50 it's not cheap but it hits the sugar spot perfectly.

You have to give this place a try - do this outside of lunchtime or prepare to queue. They do lovely brown rice sushi and delicious salads and a most excellent tofu burger. Service can be all over the place and it ain't fancy but the food is excellent

Riverland can be hard to find (GOOD!) - it's a lovely spot on a sunny day. The food is great if a bit pricey. The place has a lovely, friendly atmosphere, like being at a mates barbie. Can be hard to find a seat but worth the wait.

Fast, fast, fast food! You have to keep your wits about you here or No Don for you! Lots of choice and the food is very cheap. I love the curry - you really would have to look hard to find a better lunch in the city at this price.

Bear brass is one of the few places on Southbank that isn't a tourist trap. The wait staff are pleasant even though they are usually working hard, the food is good and well priced for the location. Lovely place to be on a sunny day in Melbourne.

Mmm under new management I think. The food wasn't up to the usual ultra-fresh quality that I'm used to from Akita. Tempura was a bit over cooked. Still it was very good and I'll be back to see how things settle.

Don't queue, won't queue for coffee and this place gets rammed but I love to come here mid-week. Food is good but the service can be slow. Excellent coffee.
