My experience is different to that of the other reviewers. It is definitely not our favourite fish/chicken shop in Blackwood. My family went here one night to try it. The wait was very long and personally I found the customer service to be less than I expected. Perhaps I came on an off night, but the staff were not very cheery. The place looks old - it clearly hasn't been renovated in a while and just felt a bit depressing sitting on the bench line. The chips were not great and neither were the fish and chicken. My family decided to stick to our usual chicken shop.

The staff here are very experienced and professional with many years in the business. They are friendly and ask how you'd like your hair cut. The cost is fairly expensive - over $100 for cut and colour streaks in my experience. I had my hair done here too for a formal occasion and it was fantastic - received many compliments.

The salon itself has no steps so is disability friendly. However, the parking is located beneath the salon. There is no elevator but rather a set of about 15 steps or a large drive-down ramp (very steep indeed). So unless you are lucky enough to score on-street parking (very rare in this main section of Blackwood) it is not really easily disability accessible.

My experience with HSS has been very different (so far!) to the other reviewer. We have been using their services for over a year now, largely with assistance from the carer support and respite centre. The carers, nurses and administrative staff have been fantastic. They are very professional, empathetic and understanding. We have been very blessed so far with our experiences with them. The admin team also try to allocate the carers and nurses best suited to us. However, we have twice had problems in which a nurse did not show up - once this was because it wasn't scheduled properly by the admin person, the other time the nurse simply didn't show. The cost is also extremely expensive if you are paying privately - around $40 per hour in business hours or around $60 per hour outside that/on weekends. Far too high - just impossible! Overall, I would recommend HSS.

I had to take my disabled mother to get some tests done here. Having not been here before, I called the service in advance to check on the opening hours and advise about my mothers disability and what tests were needed. I was told that was no problem, it was disability accessible and that there was disability parking. It was disability accessible - that was correct. However, when we arrived, there was no disability permit parking nearby. We had to walk a long way so it was quite a challenge getting my mother in there, that's for certain! I know the lack of parking is not their fault but the responsibility of the shopping centre owners so that's not this issue. But what concerned me was the attitude of the nurse when we arrived. I felt she was quite rude and short with us. She kept repeatedly looking at the clock, trying to hurry us up and because the tests were taking a while (longer than for a non-disabled person), she ended up saying we would have to go elsewhere because they would be closing soon. (Note: there were no other patients waiting). It made me (and my family) feel quite uncomfortable indeed. The added pressure only made it harder to do the tests. In the end, we left without having completed all the tests and deciding not to go back there again if we have a choice. I personally wouldn't recommend this business.

Although there are several Clinpath collection centres in the Blackwood area, this is the one myself and my family prefer to use. The nurses here are fantastic. All blood tests are done quickly, efficiently and professionally. I barely feel a thing each time! In and out very quickly with minimum fuss - exactly what is needed! I have also had other tests (e.g., ECG) done here which were done well too. My biggest issue is the lack of disability permit parking nearby and the lack of appropriate disability access to the office - it has a step which sometimes has a small but quite steep ramp which can be difficult to wheel someone in a mobility device (e.g, wheelchair, stroller) up it. Being in a busy Woolworths shopping centre it can be difficult getting non-disability parking too particularly during peak periods. Overall, I would recommend Clinpath Blackwood in the Magnet shopping centre.

This is a small Clinpath collection centre inside the Unley Park Specialist Centre. I have had blood tests done here several times. The collection nurse is fantastic. Each time the procedure has gone very smoothly - no pain and I barely felt a thing! She was also friendly and sympathetic. Being a small centre, their opening hours are more limited than other centres and some tests require an appointment. When I needed a test that wasn't available at this centre, the nurse researched where I could get it done closest to me, when they would be open and checked they had time available. This centre is disability accessible with disability permit parking. I would recommend Clinpath at Unley Park.

Unley Park Specialist Centre houses a small group of medical specialists. I regularly see a gastroenterologist there who is very good. He is extremely knowledgeable about his field, explains things without all the medical mumbo-jumbo, and is also very kind, down-to-earth and supportive. They also have other gastroenterologists, a ClinPath collection facility (lovely lady), a dietitian, a nutritionist and a maybe a few other specialists (not really sure!). Located in one of those old houses converted into medical rooms, the rooms are light and airy and very comfortable. The admin staff a truly wonderful ladies. I really like this practice. There is parking for some cars on the grounds (including disability permit parking). It is disability accessible with a ramp at the front. The only downside for me is the price - even with a concession discount there is still a large gap (large to me anyway!). This is probably to be expected with all specialists though and is consistent with other doctors. Overall, I would recommend this practice!

After my previous podiatrist retired, I went to the Podiatrist (Kristian) at SportsMed in Blackwood. Kristian was very professional, warm and friendly. He also made recommendations regarding shoes that would better suit my feet and reduce the risk of these problems recurring. My feet felt much better afterwards. The administrative staff were also very friendly. It had a nice clean waiting area with a comfortable feel. There is disability permit parking and the building has a ramp leading to the front door making it disability accessible. I would recommend SportsMed Blackwood.

Harper Davison Solicitors is a small, professional law firm located in the city near the Tivoli. My family has used the legal services of Solicitor Miles Harper for about four years now on three separate issues primarily around Wills and Power of Attorney. One of these issues was just a standard preparation of a will and power of attorney. Two of the three cases (unrelated to the first) involved complex legal challenges. Both of these two cases were resolved in our favour and I honestly don't think that we would have had such a successful outcome had it not been for the work done by Miles Harper. The legal service provided has been at the highest quality and highest professionalism at all times. In addition, Miles Harper is an extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, honest, supportive, down-to-earth and friendly gentleman. The administrative staff are also kind, friendly and professional. The office is comfortable and tidy. However, due to one small step at the building entrance, the building is not completely disability accessible (my mother is disabled). I strongly recommend Harper Davison Solicitors.

I have tried hot chocolates and iced chocolates all over Adelaide and this is my favourite place for both by far! It is truly the best i've ever tasted. When I worked in the city I used to walk to the Chocolate Bean almost daily. Now, I live too far away to go regularly. The quality of the food/drinks are excellent. The service is excellent - always friendly. The only downside is that the lower level has only a few tables so can get very busy and isn't very disability accessible. Overall, I highly recommend this cafe for chocolate lovers everywhere. I'm drooling just writing about this place! I wish they'd open one near me!
