WOW!!! So many different descriptions could fit this haven of delights. It is so many different things – The possible saviour of avid collectors wanting to add the missing piece to their collection - I have no doubt they would spend hours here; OR an exciting adventure for the sentimental person who loves to be reminded of ‘the good old days’ or their mother or grandmother. – I am sure even the least sentimental person would have a pang of joy as they experience a flashback memory; OR a treasure trove for the astute bargain hunter who knows the potential value of obscure items.
Clean facilities and food available.
All of this is governed by the warm, friendly Denise who exudes a delightful enthusiasm and the hard-working Harris.
An interesting delightful way to spend an hour or two.

Although, Elephant Bridge Hotel could be considered a country pub, the quality of its refurbishment means it could comfortably fit in a classification of a more prestigious establishment. The ‘presence’ and professionalism of the pleasant Bar Tender, facilitates this image. Yet, this is still a hotel where the local farmer can call in and have a beer with his mates after a hard day’s work. Families of all ages, couples, a girl’s night out to catch up with friends, can be catered for with a well-cooked meal. There are a variety of separate seating areas to enable people to find a suitable place. The team of staff are a combination that suits people of all ages, and all walks of life. Young energetic male staff appear dedicated to offering good service, under the direction of a competent lady. The mushroom soup was a credit to the kitchen staff. It was packed full of mushroom in a tasty thick saucy broth. My Scotch fillet steak was cooked exactly to my liking – rare, and served with chips, salad and my choice of Diane Sauce. The chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, chips and salad was also to my companions liking. Much of the seating is outside so dress accordingly. Umbrellas and trees offer shaded areas.

Although they are not usually open for lunch on a Wednesday, we were lucky enough to co-inside with a group booking. Thus, we had a delightful lunch, professional service, with a greeting on arrival, and a table in a spacious, light bright position with an outdoor view. There were at least four seafood options on the menu including a seafood pasta dish; two chicken choices, and two beef choices. One of which was the homemade pie of the day. On this occasion there was a pork rib and rice dish as well. The good quality meals were beautifully presented and served with a warm friendly smile. Bar service was good, with a mixed drink being to my liking. New carpet, interesting tables and comfortable chairs added to the experience as did the clean, very adequate, toilet facilities. Well done Mount Elephant Hotel-Derrinallum

These guys at Niss4x4 Autospares 41 Buchanan Rd, Brooklyn VIC 3012 offer excellent service, and are highly suitable for dealing with customers with all different levels of knowledge including a novice. They display excellent knowledge and patience and delivery is very prompt. Between us we ordered a T31 clockspring. The male in the household made the initial inquiry and due to work commitments asked me, an absolute novice re car parts, to ring and confirm an order for ‘that item’ and arrange payment and delivery. Without all the information of what the order was for I spoke to Adam and was passed over to someone else to make the payment, where I was required to provide some information to clarify exactly which Model car, I was buying the part for. These guys were great. They were patient, tolerant and a pleasure to deal with. We paid $25 for express post and the item arrived the next day. The clock spring was securely taped to ensure it remained centered during transport. The only thing I would suggest they attach a note confirming it is centered and not to adjust it, just to offer reassurance to the buyer. Once installed our part worked well. Highly recommend niss4x4. Thanks Guys.

The generosity of Totally Workwear Warrnambool and Bata Industrial Footwear for the donation of a number of work boots should be greatly appreciated by the community. They supported the local bushfire fundraiser at the Lady Bay hotel and introduced us to an excellent product. The HELIX Horizon style Bata Boot were found to be extremely comfortable. When a man puts the boots back on before driving home you know his immediate reaction to their comfort is a very positive one. When he continues to wear them daily it signifies an on going endorsement of the comfort of them and the pleasure they are bringing to the wearer. There is a dressiness about them that makes then extremely versatile. Within days the protective Scotch Guard treatment was tested by a little ‘Charge’s’ upset stomach and proved to be 100% effective. They still look as good as new and are worn daily for a range of functions and activities. Thank you, Totally Workwear for excellent service in choosing the correct fit and style.

New hosts, but still delicious meals and excellent service. Billy and Mario have maintained the standard that sets The Penny Wine Bar, apart from other restaurant experiences, I also love that there is an Andreas in the family. My great great grandfather Andreas Albert is buried in Gnadenthal cemetery near Penshurst, BUT back to the food- The Homemade Pork & Beef ‘Kofte’ served with homemade yogurt and traditional Macedonian ‘shopska salata’ topped with grated Bulgarian Feta + Turkish Bread was indeed YUM !!!!!, as promised. For us the combination of this and a Cheese plate which was an impressive array of cheeses, fruits, olives, nuts and super tasty biscuits, made a delightful meal. Although we didn’t need anything more to eat we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to sample the two variations of Baklava, and naturally 'Hugo' had to be tried and enjoyed. We happily journeyed for an hour for this experience and hope to enjoy many more meals at The Penny.

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!
The Penny Wine Bar certainly deserves three Wows!. Wow for the ambience. Wow for the food and Wow for the service.
A little bit of upper-class Melbourne, tucked away in Penshurst, with an added warmth and friendliness that our country towns are famous for.
Friday 14th the menu was an inviting selection of
Hand-cut Pappardelle with meltingly tender Beef Ragu and Grana Padano.- this was extremely nice. The broad, flat pasta noodles were cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious with a very enjoyable addition of the tender beef. The ratio of pasta and sauce was exactly to my taste.
Or
House made ricotta and pecorino gnocchi with 5 hour Pomodoro sauce – my partner describe this as extremely moreish with a delicious taste.
And a
Dessert of Baked Figs in Rosemary and Port with Vanilla Anglaise, Whipped Cream and Toasted Almonds.- Oh! Wow – this surpassed expectation and belongs in the dish ‘to die for’ category.
When this desert is on the menu it is a ‘must try’ even if you are only popping in to have a drink with friends.
Nathan excelled at customer service and was a pleasant companion to get the evening started.
Our thanks to the friendliness of other local patrons who added joy to the experience.
And thanks to locals Dessie and Dennis for their assistance with directions to the Gnadenthal Cemetery where my ancestors are laid to rest.

WOW!!, WOW!!, WOW!! What a wonderful experience-had an one hour foot reflexology massage with Nattinee last weekend. The sensation was incredible as she worked on my upper legs, through the Thai pyjamas provided, and then on my bare skin on my lower legs and feet. Whilst the focus was on the feet and legs the massage was completed with some positional stretches and movements and a hand and face massage. I followed Nattinee suggestion to have one hour and I strongly recommend this as the process takes every bit of that to be executed completely. There was very much a sense of “this is doing me so much good” and certainly the lingering effects afterwards would support this. I found Nattinee to be a warm, friendly person who created a pleasant, comfortable interaction. Thank you Nattinee.
