Dishonest and unprofessional service - a disappointing experience with hills district smash

I had my car repaired at Hills District Smash and initially met with the owner, Adriac, to discuss the process in detail. I made it clear that I wanted the repairs done properly and not in the way insurance subcontractors sometimes cut corners. I specifically instructed him to replace the damaged parts with brand-new ones directly sourced from the car dealer—not from online shops or unauthorized suppliers. Adriac assured me he would follow this approach.

Before taking the car in, I gave him a week’s notice to order the required parts. Despite this, the repair process has been extremely disappointing. The job, initially promised to be completed in one week, has stretched to 10 weeks, and the car is still in the workshop. To make matters worse, I discovered several parts that were claimed to be brand-new are, in fact, second-hand or poorly refurbished. Some of these parts even have visible paint touch-ups.

When confronted, Adriac maintained that the parts were brand-new, but the evidence suggests otherwise. His dishonesty has completely eroded my trust. I have now arranged for two independent inspectors to assess the vehicle and verify the quality of the repairs. Adriac must also provide proof that the parts were ordered and delivered from an authorized car dealer.

Unfortunately, based on my experience, it seems he prioritizes the interests of insurance companies over the customers. I cannot recommend his services due to his lack of transparency and professionalism.

Avoid using suncorp and suncorp's business partners (aami, gio....)

Unfortunately, there's no option to give a zero-star rating here! Suncorp Insurance (including AAMI, GIO, and AAI—all the same under different names) fails to provide quality service for customers and car repairs. You have the option to choose your own repairer or go with their recommended repairer. However, if you choose your own, Suncorp often neglects to support the customer and seems to avoid providing assistance. When customers request information, Suncorp frequently refuses to share it. The only solution to this issue seems to be involving the ACCC, Fair Trading, or other relevant consumer protection services.
