A delightfully quirky little cupcake bakery which could easily be found nestled among Melbourne's laneways. Each cupcake, cookie or macaroon is a creation, a work of art.
Upon entering the cafe customers are cheerily greeted by the lovely, attentive staff, who are always happy to chat about Naomi's creations, or just life in general ;)
There are a few tables inside or takeaway is available. I recommend indulging in a hot chocolate, coffee or a super yummy, & creamy!, flavoured jersey milk (I tried salted caramel...mmmm!) with your cookie or cake. With options such as cherry ripe cupcakes, sour cherry & lemon amaretti, raspberry & cardamon macaroons, Nutella & strawberry cupcakes, to name but a few!....it's hard to make a decision! Luckily there's always next time ;-)

Absolutely gorgeous space recently opened in town. Everything about Red Baron's is perfect! - the service, atmosphere, drinks, food, art, furnishings....all are outstanding!
Such a wonderful addition to Newcastle - it's places like this that are showing our town as the funky, quirky, eclectic place that it is. Cudos Gordon & staff, and thank you!!!

Nice meal, but lacked finesse. The balsamic glaze on my vegie & polenta stack was a nice touch but as it went to the edges of the plate it ended up being a sticky annoyance more than anything. The meal itself was too small, although this seems common in Newcastle with vegetarian meals. Without the protein we need more volume! ;-)
Was nice to sit out on the wharf on a sunny Sunday, although the rusty shelter leaves little to be desired. A facelift would do wonders! ;) also a designated smoking area would be good.

Lovely little cafe up the east end. Next door to big brother Restaurant Mason. Fresh, quick, and well priced! Lunch specials $8-$10 - wow!!
There's minimal seating inside and a few tables outside as well. The cafe would benefit from more outside seating as inside does lack ambience.
A great spot for a quick, cheap lunch :)

Fabulous spot in Newcastle's East End. Relaxed vibe, friendly & helpful staff, super yummy and fresh food - & cool tunes! Oh and a great range of drinks too, alcoholic & non alcoholic....;-)
Check it out, pronto!

Lovely cafe opposite Newcastle beach. One of the few spots taking advantage of our amazing coastline so it's well worth the visit! Sit outside & enjoy the sunny beachy salty air or inside and gaze at the spectacular view.
The food here is beautiful and fresh, definitely great quality! Gorgeous desserts & sweet treats. It is pricier than other cafes around town, but the view & quality account for that imo ;)
It's only drawback is it's not pram friendly inside...if you have baby friends that is! If you & bub are solo there's one spot up the end that suits, otherwise aim for a sunny day.
Oh and it'd be even better if they were open at night!

Beautiful restaurant with superb and expansive views of Newcastle Beach. A truly fabulous meal, attentive and helpful staff and very comfy dining chairs!
My main (vegetarian daily special) although lovely, was too small, & was what I would call a light meal - especially for $28, you don't expect to still be hungry! & this was after an entree as well. Granted I chose a salad but I wasn't expecting to need a snack when arriving home. This will stop me from returning, sadly, as my meal was truly wonderful.

Nice, fresh and quick sushi place. The food was lovely, although I'm hesitant to return as I ended up with the wrong order. I bought a few takeaway pieces, and as I was I a hurry I asked the staff for assistance in selecting some vegetarian sushi. I discovered when I arrived home that my most expensive treat - $4 - $5 - was prawn and not tofu as requested, which turned out great for my cat but not for my rumbling belly!

Nice cafe in a converted factory space - big, open & airy. Comfy seating, relaxed vibe, friendly staff. A great addition to Carrington :-)
Good spot for large groups - great for mothers groups, lots of room for prams!

Great bar in the East End, with a nice relaxed vibe. Extensive selection of craft beers. Menu would benefit from more vegetarian options, there are a couple of things but nothing amazing. More of a place for a drink if you are a vegie. :(

Approximate cost: $15-20
