They have a good range of movies, many of which are not shown at the mainstream cinemas. The Palace Movie Club makes it very affordable, and the candy bar is not as expensive as many others. The seats are pretty comfortable too!
This is a great new Indian restaurant. It is quite upmarket (but the blue lighting is a bit at odds with the ambiance). The food is good and tasty, and there is a good range of gluten free options
This is a fairly new supermarket and has a very wide range of produce. It is well priced. The downside is that it always seems to be busy, but that is indicative of the fact that it is one of the better supermarkets around.
A good friendly newsagency. There is a good range of greeting cards and magazines. The staff are always happy to order magazines they do not have in stock.
This is a great local library. It is pretty small, but they pack as much as possible into the available space. The staff are friendly and they have a wide range of activities for children. They are part of the SWAP network and can get hold of just about any book you would want.
The food is pretty good. Perhaps not the most traditional Thai, but tasty and interesting, and good value. This is a good place to go after a movie. The service is quite quick but ranges from good to very ordinary.
A nice place for coffee or a light lunch. They also serve breakfast but do not open until 8am. It is a bit on the expensive side. They usually have a gluten free biscuit option, but do not offer much in the way of GF lunch options.
Good coffee and a wonderful range of biscuits and little cakes. They have a small number of gluten free biscuits. Good pies and sausage rolls too. They also do a roaring trade in cakes for a range of occasions.
Good venue for breakfast and they open early (7 am). Good range of breakfasts, plus cakes and foccacias. They can provide gluten free toast and have a couple of GF cake options. Seating for about 30 inside and lots of outdoor tables. Heaters for winter.
