Oh no what happened!
This used to be a great little fish n chippery but I'm left embarassed after talking it up on the way to bringing my partner here today. I don't mind paying for quality but they're now taking the mickey. Upward of $30 for a basic fish n chip pack for 2 that left us with sadfaces on opening. You can tell good fish n chips immediately by the colour. Caramel is not the colour of good fish n chips people. They were so overdone I was left searching for the potato inside my cake. I think it evaporated.
Thank God for our little gem of a local in Werribee. A third cheaper, and double the value in both quality and quantity.

Just had a fantastic dinner tonight at Bopa Devi. Highly recommend the pork ribs - everything was delicious! Staff uber friendly and great with kids. We didn't have any with us but watched three other couples with theirs and the wait staff were awesome. Even bringing them out a flashing watch as a gift. Super cute.

Just had a fantastic experience in Tile Mart @ Hoppers Crossing. My partner is DIYing our ensuite and we went in to check out supplies. Sebastian was so helpful, not only with our tile selection, but everything else we needed from glue to grout to spacers and tools. He took the time to ask about what we were working with so everything felt like great advice and not an upsell. And we even got an amazing bargain with tiles in just the right volume that happened to be on clearance. I would highly recommend.
Great little holiday park only a few minutes out of Beechworth. Very budget friendly, you can often get offpeak cabins here for under $100 via booking.com.
We've stayed twice now, it's no frills but really cosy for a weekender. The owners are lovely and the surrounding area and waking up to the birds in the morning - awesome.
Wow! In my 40 years and growing up on the coast, I have to say what a surprise it was to find the BEST fish and chips I've ever had in a little town so far away from the sea. Beer battered fish, homemade potato cakes and the most beautiful chips. Just wow! Worth travelling for.

Found ourselves on an impromptu 'date night' at Docklands and being a Monday night options were a bit thin. Fortunately stumbled upon Bhoj and we were not disappointed. Delicious vegetarian sample starter and the boyfriend gave a simple 'That's Rockin' on the red beef curry. Fluffy saffron rice, diligent waiter and an unsurprising bill. 4 thumbs up.
After one bad hair day too many, and having had the same hairstyle for nearly 10 years (long) I decided to take the plunge one Sunday and head out for a cut. Generally walk-in salons aren't the best idea unless you're only after a trim but I was desperate so I took a chance on Cutting Crew at Wyndham Village. So glad I did. Lauren was terrific, taking the time to understand what I was trying to achieve but also adding her advice, based on my hair type, condition and face shape. So many hairdressers just give you the cut you ask for rather than risk an unhappy client and it's not always the best outcome. Thanks to Lauren's advice and great styling I now have a fringe for the first time since I was a kid, and the compliments have been flowing ever since. I couldn't be happier, not only with the cut, but also with the fact that I didn't have to drop $150 or wait weeks for an appointment. This walk-in exceeded all my expectations. High end cut with a low end price.

Enjoyed a pre-show coffee and cake at Raffael's tonight. Their macadamia chocolate cheesecake gets the thumbs up, and as this was visit number three, I'm now confident to back their coffee aswell. Consistently good, maybe a little too much head on our lattes for the sticklers, but really silky and just the right temperature. The staff are always friendly and the whole place has a funky vibe and a great outdoor undercover area. Who needs to travel all the way over to the inner CBD suburbs for a great cafe with this on offer in Werribee? Bonus perks - free parking in the surrounding streets and markedly less pretention. We'll be back.

My partner and I recently went on a 12 night cruise around the South Pacific - I'm a long time multicruiser but it was his first experience with cruising. Having been an advocate for P&O for many years now unfortunately it looks like the cruiseline may have dropped the ball on the service and quality I have always come to expect. To cover the cost of keeping their over all cruise price low, it seems they are pushing add ons at every opportunity, concentrating on volume not quality. We felt like we were in the middle of a sales pitch for 12 days. I wonder if also the staff have been incentivised based on this.. ? The usually bubbly crew were tired and rarely interactive, cutting passenger activities short to rush off to rehearsals or other schedules. Sorry P&O but I just don't feel like one the family anymore. We're going to check out what the competitors are like next time. If you're looking for a cheap way to head overseas its still a good option but the wow has gone for me.

My partner and I went looking for a new Chinese Take Away place and stumbled upon 'Wok This Way'. The quirky name lured to the window and the menu displayed looked good so we thought we'd give it a try. On order, the 'three meat combination' (chicken beef, pork and vegetables) and the 'Char Kway Teow'. Both were really tasty dishes that I can happily recommend trying, generous servings, and the service was super quick. If you're looking for value for money, Wok This Way is a winner. We'll definitely be back to try a few more dishes off the menu.
