We recently went to Rebel Sport at Southland to buy a small plastic thing that hangs on a basketball ring to return the ball to you. We found it on the rack and took one of the 10 or so they had in stock. We walked to the front counter and tried to buy it and the cashier couldn't find it on the computer. She called someone in the dept and we waited, and we waited. After 10 mins we said we'll just duck into Big W while you find the price.
Upon returning from Big W nearly 20 mins later, they still didn't have a price. Finally I got the attention of the youngish manager who didn't seem to think it was too much of a problem that we'd waited over half an hour for a price on a $30 item. He finally got a price but then couldn't work out how to enter it manually into the computer. Finally he got it in, in some round about way and we were able to leave the store.
There wasn't even really an apology from the manager about the inconvenience and certainly no mention of a minor discount to compensate us for all the mucking around.

It's like walking into a pasta shop in Italy. It's run by 2 really sweet italian women. All fresh pasta is home-made, ravioli, gnocchi, fettuccine etc. They have beautiful sauces ready to heat and eat. I have started going here regularly to pickup a good value meal that's very easy to make.
The pasta takes less than 5 minutes to cook because it's so fresh and at $3.50 for 500 grams of fettuccine you can't complain. Next time I go there I'm going to try out there Pizza bases.

Ok Nail Salon
I was a bridesmaid in March, so we all took the bride here to have a fun day before the wedding and have a pedicure and manicure. Pedicure was fun and, but nails were not great. They looked pretty bad only a couple of hours after we left the salon.

Great Pilates workout
I did my first pilates class and it was great. It exercised every muscle in my body.
The instructor was really nice and friendly. This class was a circuit type pilates, using a combinations of machines and floor mats, over a 1 hour period. They specialise in pre and post natal pilates.

A really great hairdresser
I get an 'Extenso Straightening' treatment done every 4 months and cut. Gino is the best hairdresser I have ever been to. He always does exactly what you ask for and never cuts too much. He is like a magician with the scissors.

Really great food, vibrant atmosphere
Food is always really great, a good catch up place with a group of friends.
A little bit noisy all the time, but still good. My favourite meal is the pumkin and feta salad.

When you want consistent good value italian food
The Brighton one is pretty much a standard La Porchetta with the usual average service and quality of food. But you can't beat them on price, especially for the pizzas. When you are sick of the plastic pizza from the big pizza chains try out La Porchetta.

The best fish and chips in Melbourne
This upmarket fish & chip shop really knows how to make quality food. The fish and chips is great, but the Lamb Souvlaki's are awesome, no fatty cheap lamb here. The Potato cakes are highly recommended, they are very fluffy and scrumtpious.
They also have a large range of fresh fish and pre-marinated seafood to take home and cook yourself.

Quality steaks in a nice setting
My husband took me to the Steakhouse for our wedding anniversary. We are both steak lovers and so he thought it would be a good place to take me.
The food is of a high-standard and you can choose from Angus Beef, Wagyu and a number of others with varying prices. In addition to $25-$40 for the steak, the sauce will cost you an extra $6 which I think is a bit rich. The steak was well cooked and you can actually watch it being cooked via a big plasma screen in the restaurant.
