Our experience didn't start off great, as our boat was cancelled and we were moved to a later boat. We didn't get the phone call, as we were out of phone signal range so ended up waiting down at the ferry terminal.
I have never been on a big boat like that before, in the open sea - and was rather petrified as the sea was pretty rough! We had some locals with us at the same time, and they said we had a pretty good ride - it gets a lot worse!! Another 5 minutes on the boat, and I would have spewed! My poor partner didn't get a chance to experience it, as my nails were being dug in his arm!! The trip took an extra 20 minutes (like I needed more time on the boat!!) as we met a ship, so had to change our course, and go round it.
Our return trip was smooth sailing, not a single bump! And we were able to walk around and experience the trip more.
If I did it again, I would definately sit there and wait until the conditions were perfect before going across!!
The boat itself is in good condition, for the amount you pay though - I was expecting a whole lot more! The staff were friendly, and changing the time of our boat back was a very easy and pleasant experience.
I visited here for a 21st Birthday. The outside looks can be decieving, as it's actually really nice inside.
The meals were great, a bit on the high price side - but when you get good quality, sometimes you don't mind paying more.
I havent been here for lunch, so it would be nice to sit outside in the daytime, with a beautiful view.
Staff were very nice and friendly.
Bogan's Pizza doesn't have the best sounding name, but they do sometimes have the best tasting pizzas! Chicken Yiros Pizza and their garlic bread is so delicious!
We stopped getting their pastas though, as the prices got a bit expensive.
The hygiene standard could be lifted up a notch, and the customer service too.
I have my Nanna and Aunty addicted to this shop also, and what a great cause - all profits going back to the local hospital.
The volunteers are always happy, and looking for a chat. And it's also a great place to get something home made, or handmade - personal, just the way I like it!
It's a shame that they are hidden back from the main street, a lot of people don't know what they are missing out on, by not walking down that extra bit and finding their shop!
Temme's is always handy when you need something quickly! They stock so many things from hardware to worms! Sometimes the price is a bit more expensive than say Bunnings, or Mitre 10, but it's good to support a local business. If they don't have what you want in stock, if you get Nigel - he will always help to try order it in.
The Mannum Top Deli, until recently, has always had a fantastic reputation. Of late, I don't reccomend anyone to go here. They are always closed early, and it seems as a customer that you're more of an inconvienience. Definately room for improvement on customer service, if they want people to come back!
Sometimes I could spend hours browsing through this shop! They certainly have many wonderful things. It's my shop to go to, when I have to buy a present for my MIL! From soaps, to fridge magnets - they have all the products covered.
My only disapointment, is that so many of the things are from overseas. I understand that is the way of life these days, but I tend to like buying Australian made products more.
I used to come shopping here all the time, but have found of late their range of products has reduced - especially in the gift side of things.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
And the shop is in a convienient location, at the Top of the main street.
The Mannum Club used to be the place to go in Mannum, but these days sometimes we get a GREAT meal and other times not so great. When you pay around $20 - $30 for a meal, you want to leave satisfied.
I went there when they had the Old Fella on, and the food and service was extremely poor. I don't believe they cope very well under busy times, and I would only go there if there wasn't lots of people already dining!
Besides that, they have one of the best views of the Murray if you can get a window table - nothing like looking out over the playground and Mary Anne Reserve, especially at sunset.
I always bring family from outside of the area here, as I am passionate about the Murraylands and the "river experience". The volunteers here are also very passionate and I appreciated all their knowledge about the area.
I also visit here to stock up on souveiners for my overseas family, and they also have a few local business items - which it is always great to support them too!
