I used Top Form to get my couch recovered. They had a great selection of contemporary fabrics and colours. I am really pleased with the job they did on the couch and the quality of the finish.
They collected the couch and dropped it off when it was done, although they didn't provide me with much notice for either pickup or drop off.
The cost of the recover wasn't cheap (ie cost almost as much as buying a new couch), but it was comparable to other companies who offer the same service.
I love Indian food, and this is one of my favourite places. It's convenient to grab a quick lunch if you work in the city, and you can either eat in the seated area at the restaurant or get your meal to go in a takeaway container. The food is prepared in bain maree's so it's a quick option for lunch.

They meals are reasonably priced, being around $12 with rice.

Papillon is a beauty salon located in the centre of Hobart CBD (in Elizabeth St Mall). It offers a wide selection of beauty treatments, including eye treatments, waxing, facials, pedicures and massages etc.
On Fridays between 9:30 and 4pm you can get half price beauty treatments with the beauty academy students. For example you can get a 1 hr massage for only $40!
Some treatments aren't available until the middle of the year as students don't learn those treatments until June or July (eg massage, advanced facials etc).
If you go towards the end of the year, the students are 'salon ready' so although you're only paying half price for the treatments, you're actually getting the same level of service you would get a month later in the salon - what a bargain!
The only down side to many of the treatments (including massages) is that you don't have your own private treatment room, so there are many people getting massages at the same time in one room (still private areas though). The atmosphere isn't as relaxing as some other beauty salons.
Muffin Break has a good selection of cakes, muffins, slices, biscuits, quiches, hot drinks, soups etc.
You can buy to take away, or sit and eat at a table and watch the cow jump over the moon at the Cat and Fiddle clock on the hour.
Their selection varies daily. I like the carrot cake or the bananas cake, but it is a little more pricey than some other places.
This busy little cafe is located in the upper level of Centrepoint, near Chickenfeed.
It has recently been renovated and offers a nice relaxing atmosphere.
My favourite reason for going here is the fantastic selection of cakes they have, particularly their lemon meringue pie.
Boniwell Blinds offer a variety of blinds for both inside and outside. We bought rollerblinds from Boniwell as they had a contemporary range of colours for the blinds.
They offer a free measure and quote (as more places do) at convenient times.
The blinds were relatively quick to be made up and installed.
Boniwell often have buy one get one free offers which makes them very competitive with other blind companies.
Lane Ridges offers a variety of personal care treatments, including hair cuts, as well as beauty treatments such as nails, facials, waxing etc.
I've always found them relatively easy to get an appointment with, despite being a busy salon. The staff are always friendly and do a good job.
They also sell various products in the salon so if you like what they use on your hair you can buy it.
Reasonably priced and comparable to other salons.
The Seahorse Swim Centre is a private pool that offers swimming lessons, particularly water familiarisation for babies aged 6 months onwards, as well as swimming lessons for older children.
The qualified swim instructors are so helpful and understanding of new mums, and step you through everything.
The water is lovely and warm and there's plenty of nearby parking.
Approximate cost: $11 a lesson
Khaow Thai has a great selection of Thai dishes that you can eat in or take away. For a quick and easy lunch option you can select one of the 3 dishes that are already cooked (often includes a green curry dish).
The meals are all really tasty with a bit of kick. If you're eating in they have free tap water available, which can be handy with some dishes!
The restaurant has been renewly reburfished and it has a great atmosphere. There aren't many tables available (less than 10) so if you really want to eat in at lunch you should try to get there early.
Approximate cost: $10+
This is one of my favourite pubs to go to in winter as it's warm and cosy with good heating! The meal sizes are very generous and they offer a good selection of mains.
There's a good selection of seafood on the menu, but the cajun chicken salad is my favourite as it's a healthy option with a bit of kick. I also recommend the extra large chicken schnitzel. Most meals seem to come with chips and salad.
They also have a good desert menu, but it's unlikely you'd have any room left for dessert!
The wait time on meals tends to be slow.
