We spent last Saturday morning at Summer Sensations picking strawberries to make jam with. We actually wanted to buy pre-picked berries, but they couldn't provide the quantity we wanted (1.5kg). It only took 20 minutes for two of us to pick nearly 2kg worth, and the fruit was of fantastic quality. They also sell jams and sauces, and their famous homemade icecream (which is DIVINE!)
The cafe is lovely and quaint, where they serve breakfast, morning and afternoon tea, so we're planning on returning for some eggs benedict and pancakes with jam! Definitely worth a stop if you're ever heading out through Teesdale.
We were wowed by the service we received at Retravision while looking for a new fridge. The salesman was incredibly professional and knowledgeable, patiently explaining all the features and benefits of each model. He also took time to check competitor websites and matched their best price. The only downside to Retravision is they don't (or didn't at the time) have as big a range of products as other stores around town have.
We recently purchased a new fridge and washing machine from E&S after finding exactly what we wanted for much cheaper than other stores around town (partly thanks to a price error in their catalogue that they were still honouring - we got a $2400 washing machine for $1600).
The salesman was slightly less knowledgeable than we'd found in other stores, but still knew his stuff.
The laybuy system was easy, and the staff went out of their way to try and get our items delivered to us as quickly as possible (we live out of Geelong). We're planning on returning in a few months to buy a new dishwasher from them too.
We have always used the Banno Vet for all our animals, and they're fantastic. Very compassionate when having to suddenly put an animal down, and they offer home visits for livestock too. I think so far they've seen four of my sheep, two dogs, a cat and a calf, and there hasn't been a problem they couldn't fix for our critters. They're usually running a teensy bit late, which I don't mind. Pricing is somewhat expensive, but I think that is the case everywhere you go.
The salads at Sumo Salad are fantastic. They have a range of premade salads, plus their made-to-order menu. I always buy the warm Vietnamese or Thai salads, which are made quickly. Also if you sign up to their Sumo Salad Club, you earn points with every transaction, and you get a free salad on your birthday!

I'm a total sucker for anything lavendar, so this shop is perfect for me! They have the greatest head packs that are large enough to cover your entire shoulders, and microwavable slippers for sore and cold feet. There's lots of great gift ideas in store too for the ladies. You can buy all their products online as well, which helps if you don't live near Banno!
Absolutely delicious lollies, my gosh!! I was literally like a kid in a candy store. The peppermint bullseyes and acid drops didn't even make it home from our holiday! They have a great range of UK and US lollies too. Must see for a sweet tooth!
Approximate cost: $4.00
The mains were very reasonably priced, and arrived quickly. I had the grilled barramundi which was just divine! The only thing I didn't like was the salad buffet - by the time we got our mains, most of the salads were gone. It was glorious sitting outside in their alfresco dining area, and drinks prices were very reasonable too. The saloon style bar looked fantastic, although we didn't stop by for a drink as we had a little one with us. We also frequented the Thirsty Camel attached to the pub on numerous occasions! Will definitely return on my next trip to VH.
Approximate cost: $20.00
We stopped by this bakery/cafe on our epic drive from Adelaide to Melbourne. It was a bit on the expensive side, and not all prices are listed on the menu board. I had the most delicious chicken, cheese and avo toasted foccacia, a not-so-flavourful passionfruit cheesecake, and a strawberry milk (total $17). The interior of the bakery is divided into different rooms - there is a retro lounge, a rock'n'roll diner, and a kids room... very kitsch! It was great for a once-off stop, but due to the price, we probably wouldn't return.
I had the pleasure of visiting this store while in Shepp for the day. I'm not from the area, so it was a little hard to find but we got there!
They have a great range of earlier vintage clothes, and the prices weren't too bad (1950s frocks were in the $100-$140 range) considering vintage clothing prices in Australia are generally very high. There wasn't the usual majority of hideous 80s clothes either, which was refreshing!
They also have a great range of knick-knacks, small furniture pieces, records, kitchenware etc. It's only a fairly small store, so it was a bit cramped and the clothes were jammed onto the racks. The old tunes playing helped set the scene for browsing the racks though!
