We booked well ahead for a birthday lunch. There were 6 of us. Person 1 and 2 received their mains 45 minutes before the rest of us (and the order was all mixed up.) by the time it was all sorted, it was an hour after the first person had their main course. Not a good birthday experience :(

Caveau is by far the best restaurant for service and fine dining in Wollongong. If you want a place to take someone special for an amazing meal - this is the place to go. Amazing - but a tad expensive. I really enjoyed feeling special. The wait staff are very well trained and do their job brilliantly.

The vets are very caring and thorough - although the services are expensive. They care about the animals they treat, and they are very gentle when it comes time to say goodbye to old friends.

I wanted some siamese algae eaters and the guy in charge knew exactly what I wanted. These fish are easily mixed up and other fish are mistaken for them, but the person in charge knew about this and was very careful to make sure I got what I needed. Unfortunately, they were very small and rather expensive!

I went in for some siamese algae eaters, and I knew what I was looking for, luckily. The man in charge did try to tell me that all the striped fish in the tank were the ones I wanted - but thank goodness I knew better, and was able to select the two that were.

The friendly staff were more than happy to advise me on the right dog food for my dog, and to help me with a new pump for the fish tank. They made sure that I was happy and the boy carried the heavy dog food to the car.

The movies are excellent value. There are usually two movies every week on a wednesday and they only cost $5. Anyone can go - not just Uni students. The people at the door and in the food booth are volunteers - but they are very friendly. It is the best value movie venue in Wollongong.

The staff are mostly friendly and knowledgeable, and one person in particular - an older lady - goes out of her way to be as helpful as she possibly can, which is refreshing in this day and age.

Queer screen run the Mardi Gras Film festival and Queer Doc each year. They do a wonderful job selecting the very best of queer film and promoting it to the community. The screenings are always a lot of fun, well worth the money, and the volunteers are great!

The Phoenix theatre holds wonderful cabaret nights to raise money to open properly next year. It is a wonderfully friendly place and the community atmosphere is second to none. Some of the shows are a bit raunchy, but that just makes it all the more fun!
