White Lace Motor Inn

We travel to Townsville from the south frequently and I can honestly say the Motels in Mackay have dropped their standards dramatically over the last five years. Lack of food, courtesy, prices and cleanliness have all suffered because it is so easy for them to put up contract workers for the mines. This Motel was one of our favourites but is now so disappointing. Wake up Mackay.

A really pretty motel, the name tells it all. You sort of feel like you're staying at an old mansion when you drive in. A bit more expensive than some, but worth the money if you want to have a romantic or comfortable stay. It's close enough to the centre, the rooms are tidy, service is good.

My partner and I had a lovely stay. The service was great and the room was clean and tidy. It was in a central location and was close to the wedding that we attended. We'll be back.

This was a very nice stopover, room was neat, clean, tidy and smelt nice. Everything we needed was at our fingertips and shower/bathroom was fully stocked with wall containers with all we wanted. Bed was comfy and not low on the floor, handt table and chairs and lounge. home away from home. ......(Update; 20/06/10) Since I wrote this review we have been to this Motel 3 times; last time was very disappointing; receptionist frosty at best, one packet of biscuits in a three bed room, general stay not up to scratch. I wonder if management or staff has changed hands. Brekky not up to usual standard and outside lights on all night. Just a series of little things that all add up when used to a certain standard.
