We went to Universal recently on our wedding anniversary. It was an awesome night out for both of us. The food was very nice. Fresh seafood pasta, tasty pizza. The price was very affordable. Best of all, the staff was extremely helpful and cheerful (especially Marianne). Thank you Universal for a beautiful night at your restaurant. We'll definitely come back. T & M. Tran
Large servings for reasonable money but inconsistent quality. First visit the food ordered by the whole family was excellent. A couple of months later I made a quick solo visit after fasting for the day. Ordered the same burger I did the first visit and it was the driest burger I’ve ever eaten. Zero juices or oils. Added tomato sauce but it was in vain. It was only towards the end of the meal that I put my finger on what was wrong. A burger is a tough meal to get so wrong. Given the time it took to arrive I’d guess the patties were pre cooked and cooked well done to keep better. Not good. The waiter was polite but made no attempt to make things right. The person at the counter was disappointed the waiter did not deal with the issue but was at a loss to do so herself. I’ll give this place a second chance based on the positive first experience and my families strong desire to return but if the experience in anything like today’s then that will be it. Common universal get your act together!

Has the best value of money chicken parma and schitzel i have ever come across as the portions are huge and are only about $14- definitely a must try !!! Was fairly busy when i went so we got placed outside and we went early as wel, 10 minutes after we sat down there was a huge line waiting oustide the restaurant. So would definitely recommend going earlier to avoid the lines. The service was relatively fast.

This is my favourite restaurant for italian food. Yesterday i went in there to celebrate farewell for my friend. the service in this restaurant is superb. Me and my friend try potter, meat platter, and Chicken schnitzel. The food is combined with salad and the taste is very fantastic. Besides that you can choose the sauce for the menu such as : mushroom sauce, garlic butter, etc. Althought it is little expensive , i think it is worthy because quality of meat is very good. I recommend this restaurant for everyone who like italian food .If I have free time, I want to take dinner here again.

Very good value compare to other restaurants on lygon and still great food and lovely staff. If they let you upstairs try it, different interior design from downstairs.

The dining experience here is always very pleasant. Its a nice place to have a casual dinner with family and friends. The service assistants are all very friendly, making the atmosphere very happy and a great place to be. The meal are all well priced - probably the cheapest pizza shop on Lygon st and the quality is great

Any time I have been there, I have received good, prompt service, even when the restaurant is busy. The food is fantastic, there's a huge range of choices and the cost of meals is extremely well priced. Friendly atmosphere, and the best chocolate mud pudding I've ever had.

This place is in a great location if you just want to chill and watch things go by on Lygon Street. The food is always terrific and is very good value for money, especially if you're on a student budget. A good dining experience.
Great place for lunch because I was one of the few customers there so I had all the service I wanted. Ordered a chicken cutlet thing that was the house specialty and boy was I pleasantly surprised. I must say the presentation wasn't fantastic but the food was really delicious. It went into my mouth and an explosion of flavours took place in there. Will definitely go again to try the other food items.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. The food was fantastic, fresh and tasty. They cater to kids. Prices are good. Definatly a good dining experience. Try the lamb kebab style pizza, it is heaven! We will be back.
My experience at Universal was fantastic, the pizzas are great and freshly prepared. There is an outdoor setting should you wish to experience the atmosphere of Lygon, or a cosy indoor setting. The desserts and cakes menu is equally impressive, with a generous variety. Prices are also quite reasonable.
