The chlorinator is electrically dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. My timer failed in less than 1 month and typically I was told that the pool had the incorrect salt concentration so no warranty. I ordered another clock at my expense from another supplier and had an electrician check my unit. He found a 240 volt active cable that hadn't been crimped during manufacture which had the potential to touch the metal box and cause a possible lose of life. The screws on two other cables were found to not be tightened. The true reason for the premature failure of the timer is a design issue where the pump motor is switched by the timer contacts. The electrician advised that the contacts in the timer are unable to handle the high current draw so the contacts become burnt out. If like me you purchased your chlorinator prior to reading the nine pages of bad reviews, I would advise that you have an electrician safety check your controller and instal a relay to switch the pool pump. See the attached photos on product review website plus the pages of premature timer failures. Avoid the heart ache and purchase from a reputable supplier.
Chlorinator lasted one month and then timer stopped working. Warranty was rejected due to bogus reason regarding salt level of the pool water. Stay away from them and look elsewhere

I received the item and installed as per the instructions. The product from the start did not work correctly and was only Chlorinating on half the cycle. I called the support line and they told me to check that the salt level was 3000ppm to ensure the unit would work correctly and that it might be an idea to dilute the water by 10% just in case it was on the border line. I went to the pool shop and they confirmed my salt level to be at 3000ppm. I diluted the water as requested and confirmed the unit was not working. When checking the operation I noticed an electrical burning smell and found that the cell was smoking and burning, I removed the cover which was melted turned off the unit and found an electrical short between two exposed copper wires. So an electrical fault.
So I called back to confirm my findings and the support line confirmed the unit was faulty and had to be replaced.
The unit sent back was not new, but was warn and used as with calcification powder buildup .
I called back to request a new replacement as required by consumer law. The owner of the shop refused to provide a new replacement for a 1.5 day old product that was originally supplied as faulty.
The manager insisted that the returned product was in fact my original unit, which is impossible since the returned unit was so burnt beyond economical repair, the cell plastic housing was melted, full of charcoal and severely damaged. The replacement unit, which was supposed to e my repaired new unit, has warn plates and white power from calcification which typically occurs after months of normal use. The manager claimed the clacification occurred during 24hrs worth of testing.

Purchased Waterco/Hydro Chlor | RP30 Retrofit | Self Cleaning Salt Water Chlorinator with 5-Year Warranty. After just 2 weeks installed the cables melted and the plastic on the cell melted along with the cell connections can be undone buy you fingers and leaks from the connection.
Filled in warranty claim and was told it was rejected due to high salt level. Salt levels are high due to the cell not working and they just don't give a crap about anything and sell the most rubbish products.
Had the cell checked out by a pool shop and they said straight up just looking at it that it is faulty and should be replaced under warranty.
Done waste your money and support doggy online businesses that don't care about the customer at all.
Will be lodging a claim with the ACCC.

ever Purchase anything from Tropical Pool storePurchased Waterco/Hydro Chlor | RP30 Retrofit | Self Cleaning Salt Water Chlorinator with 5-Year Warranty.
The Warranty is totally worthless. As is there equipment. There is a reason why this product is significantly cheaper than more reputable chlorinator manufacturers. Because it doesn't work.
Buyers be warned do not purchase any thing from Tropical Pool Store. Had issues with the chlorinator from the day it was installed. Broke down after 2 months.
Sent it off to be repaired at my cost. Was told that I required a new cell for $200 as its not covered by warranty. So I paid it and also had them do a check of the actual chlorinator as well. Report came back chlorinator is fine 100% good to go. It lasted 10 months. Have again filled out their warranty form only to be told there is nothing they can do, their sales rep actually told me "it is what it is". I asked what the hell that meant only to be told "it is what it is". Tropical Pool Store products are cheap for a reason. They do not stand behind their products. Be warned they also operate under the name COMPUPOOL PRODUCTS from Nerang QLD. If you want to waste money by from Tropical Pool Store. Am lodging a official complaint with the ACCC.
